1 Veio a mim esta palavra do Senhor:2 "Filho do homem, você a julgará? Você julgará essa cidade sanguinária? Então confronte-a com todas as suas práticas repugnantes3 e diga: ‘Assim diz o Soberano Senhor: Ó cidade que traz condenação sobre si mesma por derramar sangue em seu meio e por se contaminar fazendo ídolos!4 Você se tornou culpada por causa do sangue que derramou e por ter se contaminado com os ídolos que fez. Você deu cabo dos seus dias, e chegou o fim dos seus anos. Por isso farei de você objeto de zombaria para as nações e motivo de escárnio em todas as terras.5 Tanto as nações vizinhas como as distantes zombarão de você, ó cidade infame e inquieta!6 " ‘Veja como cada um dos príncipes de Israel que aí estão usa o seu poder para derramar sangue.7 Em seu meio eles têm tratado pai e mãe com desprezo, e têm oprimido o estrangeiro e maltratado o órfão e a viúva.8 Você desprezou as minhas dádivas sagradas e profanou os meus sábados.9 Em seu meio há caluniadores, prontas para derramar sangue; em seu meio há os que comem nos santuários dos montes e praticam atos lascivos.10 Em seu meio há aqueles que desonram a cama dos seus pais, e também há aqueles que têm relações com as mulheres nos dias de sua menstruação.11 Um homem comete adultério com a mulher do seu próximo, outro contamina vergonhosamente a sua nora, e outro desonra a sua irmã, filha de seu próprio pai.12 Em seu meio há homens que aceitam suborno para derramar sangue; você empresta visando lucro e a juros e obtém ganhos injustos, extorquindo o próximo. E você se esqueceu de mim; palavra do Soberano Senhor.13 " ‘Mas você me verá bater as minhas mãos uma na outra contra os ganhos injustos que você obteve e contra o sangue que você derramou.14 Será que a sua coragem suportará ou as suas mãos serão fortes para o que eu vou fazer no dia em que eu tratar com você? Eu, o Senhor, falei, e o farei.15 Dispersarei você entre as nações e a espalharei pelas terras; e darei fim à sua impureza.16 Quando você tiver sido desonrada aos olhos das nações, você saberá que eu sou o Senhor’ ".17 E depois veio a mim esta palavra do Senhor:18 "Filho do homem, a nação de Israel tornou-se escória para mim; cobre, estanho, ferro e chumbo deixados na fornalha. Não passa de escória de prata.19 Por isso assim diz o Soberano Senhor: ‘Visto que vocês todos se tornaram escória, eu os ajuntarei em Jerusalém.20 Assim como os homens ajuntam prata, cobre, ferro, chumbo e estanho numa fornalha a fim de fundi-los com um sopro, também na minha ira e na minha indignação ajuntarei vocês dentro da cidade e os fundirei.21 Eu os ajuntarei e soprarei sobre vocês a minha ira impetuosa, e vocês se derreterão.22 Assim como a prata se derrete numa fornalha, também vocês se derreterão dentro dela, e vocês saberão que eu, o Senhor, derramei a minha ira sobre vocês’ ".23 De novo a palavra do Senhor veio a mim. Disse ele:24 "Filho do homem, diga a esta terra: ‘Você é uma terra que não tem tido chuva nem aguaceiros no dia da ira’.25 Há nela uma conspiração de seus príncipes como um leão que ruge ao despedaçar sua presa; devoram pessoas, apanham tesouros e coisas preciosas e fazem muitas viúvas.26 Seus sacerdotes cometem violência contra a minha lei e profanam minhas ofertas sagradas; não fazem distinção entre o sagrado e o comum; ensinam que não existe nenhuma diferença entre o puro e o impuro; e fecham os olhos quanto à guarda dos meus sábados, de maneira que sou desonrado no meio deles.27 Seus oficiais são como lobos que despedaçam suas presas; derramam sangue e matam gente para obter ganhos injustos.28 Seus profetas disfarçam esses feitos enganando o povo com visões falsas e adivinhações mentirosas. Dizem: ‘Assim diz o Soberano Senhor’, quando o Senhor não falou.29 O povo da terra pratica extorsão e comete roubos; oprime os pobres e os necessitados e maltrata os estrangeiros, negando-lhes justiça.30 "Procurei entre eles um homem que erguesse o muro e se pusesse na brecha diante de mim e em favor da terra, para que eu não a destruísse, mas não encontrei nem um só.31 Por isso derramarei a minha ira sobre eles e os consumirei com o meu grande furor; sofrerão as conseqüências de tudo o que eles fizeram, palavra do Soberano Senhor".
1 Jehovah continued to speak his word to me:2 Son of man will you judge? Will you judge the city of murderers the bloodguilty? Then tell it about all the disgusting things that it has done.3 »Tell it: This is what the Lord Jehovah says: »Jerusalem, you are the city that murders people who live in you. Your time has come. You dishonor yourself with disgusting idols.4 »»You are guilty because of the blood you have shed people you have killed. You are unclean dishonored because of the disgusting idols you have made. You have brought an end to your days, and you have come to the end of your years. That is why I will make you a disgrace to the nations and a joke in every land.5 »»Those near and those far away will mock you. Your name will be dishonored, and you will be filled with confusion.6 »»See how all the princes of Israel who live in you have used their power to shed blood murder people.7 »»People in you hate their fathers and mothers. They oppress foreigners in you. They oppress orphans and widows in you.« «8 »You have despised my holy things and dishonored profaned the Sabbath the day to worship me.9 »Your people tell lies about others in order to have them put to death. They eat sacrifices offered to idols. They always satisfy their lusts.10 »Some of them sleep with their father's wife. Some force women to have intercourse with them during their period.11 »Some commit adultery, and others seduce their daughters-in-law or their half sisters.12 »Some of your people murder for pay. Some charge interest on the loans they make to other Israelites and get rich by taking advantage of them. They have forgotten me. The Lord Jehovah has spoken.13 »I strike my fist at your dishonest gain and your acts of bloodshed.14 »Can your heart endure? Will your hands be strong in the days that I will deal with you? I, Jehovah, have spoken and will act.15 »I will scatter you among the nations and I will disperse you through the lands, and I will consume your uncleanness from you.16 »You will profane yourself in the sight of the nations, and you will know that I am Jehovah.« 17 Jehovahs word came to me, He said:18 »Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead in the furnace. They are the dross of silver.19 »Therefore, the Lord Jehovah says: I am going to gather you into Jerusalem. This is because all of you have become dross impureworthless.20 »As they gather silver and copper and iron and lead and tin into the furnace to blow fire on it in order to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath and I will lay you there and melt liquefy you.21 »I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my wrath. You will be melted in the midst of it.22 »As silver is melted in the furnace, you will be melted in the midst of her. You will know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath on you.« 23 Jehovah continued to speak his word to me, He said:24 »Son of man, say to her: You are a land that is not cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation outragerevulsion.25 »There is a conspiracy of her prophets in her midst like a roaring lion tearing the prey. They have devoured lives. They have taken treasure and precious things. They have made many widows in the midst of her.26 »Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the profane. They have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean. They hide their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.27 »Her princes within her are like wolves tearing the prey, by shedding blood and destroying lives in order to get dishonest gain.28 »Her prophets have smeared whitewash for them. They see false visions and divine lies for them. They say: »This is what the Lord Jehovah says, when Jehovah has not spoken.«29 »The people of the land have practiced oppression and committed robbery. They have wronged the poor and needy and have oppressed the sojourner without justice.30 »I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.31 »Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them! I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath intense anger. / Their way I have brought upon their heads, declares the Lord Jehovah.«
