1 Das profundezas clamo a ti, Senhor;2 Ouve, Senhor, a minha voz! Estejam atentos os teus ouvidos às minhas súplicas!3 Se tu, Soberano Senhor, registrasses os pecados, quem escaparia?4 Mas contigo está o perdão para que sejas temido.5 Espero no Senhor com todo o meu ser, e na sua palavra ponho a minha esperança.6 Espero pelo Senhor mais do que as sentinelas pela manhã; sim, mais do que as sentinelas esperam pela manhã!7 Ponha a sua esperança no Senhor, ó Israel, pois no Senhor há amor leal e plena redenção.8 Ele próprio redimirá Israel de todas as suas culpas.

1 A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have cried to you, O Yahweh.2 Lord, hear my voice: Let your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.3 If you, Yah, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?4 But there is forgiveness with you, That you may be feared.5 I wait for Yahweh, my soul waits, And I hope in his word.6 My soul [waits] for the Lord More than watchmen [wait] for the morning; [Yes, more than] watchmen for the morning.7 O Israel, hope in Yahweh; For with Yahweh there is loving-kindness, And with him is plenteous redemption.8 And he will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
