1 Quando o Senhor trouxe os cativos de volta a Sião, foi como um sonho.2 Então a nossa boca encheu-se de riso, e a nossa língua de cantos de alegria. Até nas outras nações se dizia: "O Senhor fez coisas grandiosas por este povo".3 Sim, coisas grandiosas fez o Senhor por nós, por isso estamos alegres.4 Senhor, restaura-nos, assim como enches o leito dos ribeiros no deserto.5 Aqueles que semeiam com lágrimas, com cantos de alegria colherão.6 Aquele que sai chorando enquanto lança a semente, voltará com cantos de alegria, trazendo os seus feixes.

1 A Song of Ascents. When Yahweh brought back those who returned to Zion, We were like those who dream.2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing: Then they said among the nations, Yahweh has done great things for them.3 Yahweh has done great things for us, [Of which] we are glad.4 Turn again our captivity, O Yahweh, As the streams in the South.5 Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.6 He who goes forth and weeps, bearing seed for sowing, Will doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves [with him].
