1 Os céus declaram a glória de Deus; o firmamento proclama a obra das suas mãos.2 Um dia fala disso a outro dia; uma noite o revela a outra noite.3 Sem discurso nem palavras, não se ouve a sua voz.4 Mas a sua voz ressoa por toda a terra, e as suas palavras, até os confins do mundo. Nos céus ele armou uma tenda para o sol,5 que é como um noivo que sai de seu aposento, e se lança em sua carreira com a alegria de um herói.6 Sai de uma extremidade dos céus e faz o seu trajeto até a outra; nada escapa ao seu calor.7 A lei do Senhor é perfeita, e revigora a alma. Os testemunhos do Senhor são dignos de confiança, e tornam sábios os inexperientes.8 Os preceitos do Senhor são justos, e dão alegria ao coração. Os mandamentos do Senhor são límpidos, e trazem luz aos olhos.9 O temor do Senhor é puro, e dura para sempre. As ordenanças do Senhor são verdadeiras, são todas elas justas.10 São mais desejáveis do que o ouro, do que muito ouro puro; são mais doces do que o mel, do que as gotas do favo.11 Por elas o teu servo é advertido; há grande recompensa em obedecer-lhes.12 Quem pode discernir os próprios erros? Absolve-me dos que desconheço!13 Também guarda o teu servo dos pecados intencionais; que eles não me dominem! Então serei íntegro, inocente de grande transgressão.14 Que as palavras da minha boca e a meditação do meu coração sejam agradáveis a ti, Senhor, minha Rocha e meu Resgatador!

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows his handiwork.2 Day to day gushes out speech, And night to night shows knowledge.3 There is no speech nor language; Where their voice is not heard.4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun,5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices as a strong man to run his course.6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens, And his circuit to the ends of it; And there is nothing hid from its heat.7 The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul: The testimony of Yahweh is sure, making wise the simple.8 The precepts of Yahweh are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes.9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever: The ordinances of Yahweh are true, [and] righteous altogether.10 More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.11 Moreover by them is your slave warned: In keeping them there is great reward.12 Who can discern [his] errors? Acquit me from hidden [faults].13 Keep back your slave also from presumptuous [sins]; Don't let them have dominion over me: Then I will be upright, And I will be innocent from great transgression.14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in your sight, O Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer.
