2 "Você acha certo afirmar:

‘Sou justo diante de Deus’?

3 Pois você também pergunta: ‘O que eu ganho com isso?

Que vantagem há em não pecar?’.

4 "Responderei a você

e a todos os seus amigos.

5 Olhe para o céu,

e veja as nuvens lá no alto, muito acima de você.

6 Se você pecar, em que isso afetará Deus?

Mesmo que peque repetidamente,

que efeito terá sobre ele?

7 Se você for justo, isso será um grande presente para ele?

O que você tem para lhe dar?

8 Seus pecados só afetam gente como você;

suas boas ações só afetam outros humanos.

9 "As pessoas clamam por socorro quando oprimidas;

gritam pedindo ajuda sob a força dos poderosos.

10 E, no entanto, não perguntam: ‘Onde está Deus, meu Criador,

aquele que me dá canções durante a noite?’

11 Onde está aquele que nos torna mais inteligentes que os animais

e mais sábios que as aves do céu?’.

12 Quando clamam, Deus não responde,

por causa do orgulho dos maus.

13 É errado, porém, dizer que Deus não ouve

e afirmar que o Todo-poderoso não se importa.

14 Você diz que não vê Deus,

mas espere, e ele lhe fará justiça.*35.13-14 Esses versículos podem ser traduzidos da seguinte forma: 13 De fato, Deus não ouve sua súplica vazia; / O Todo-poderoso não se importa. / 14 Muito menos ouvirá quando você diz que não o vê, / e que sua causa está diante dele e você espera justiça.

9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. 10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; 11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? 12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. 13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him. 15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:*35.15 he hath: that is, God hath*35.15 he knoweth: that is, Job knoweth 16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
