1 Levanta-te, ó Deus, e dispersa teus inimigos;

fujam de ti todos que te odeiam.

2 Sopra-os para longe como fumaça

e derrete-os como cera no fogo.

Que os perversos sejam destruídos

na presença de Deus.

3 Que os justos, porém, se alegrem;

exultem na presença de Deus

e sejam cheios de alegria.

4 Cantem louvores a Deus e a seu nome,

exaltem aquele que cavalga sobre as nuvens.

Seu nome é Senhor;

alegrem-se em sua presença!

5 Pai dos órfãos, defensor das viúvas,

esse é Deus, cuja habitação é santa.

6 Deus dá uma família aos que vivem sós;

liberta os presos e os faz prosperar.

Os rebeldes, porém, ele faz morar

em terra árida.

7 Ó Deus, quando conduziste teu povo,

quando marchaste através do deserto,

8 a terra tremeu, e o céu derramou chuva,

diante de ti, o Deus do Sinai,

diante de ti, o Deus de Israel.

9 Enviaste muitas chuvas, ó Deus,

para refrescar a terra exausta.

10 Ali teu povo se estabeleceu,

e com farta colheita, ó Deus,

proveste aos necessitados.

11 O Senhor dá a ordem,

e um grande exército traz boas notícias.

12 Reis inimigos e seus exércitos fogem,

enquanto as mulheres repartem em casa os despojos.

13 Mesmo os que viviam entre os currais de ovelhas

encontraram pombas com asas de prata e penas de ouro.

14 O Todo-poderoso dispersou os reis,

como uma tempestade de neve sobre o monte Zalmom.

15 Os montes de Basã são majestosos,

com cumes altos que chegam até o céu.

16 Ó montes elevados, por que olham com inveja

para o monte Sião, onde Deus escolheu habitar,

onde o Senhor habitará para sempre?

17 Cercado de milhares e milhares de carruagens,

o Senhor veio do monte Sinai para seu santuário.

18 Quando subiste às alturas,

levaste muitos prisioneiros;

recebeste dádivas do povo,

até mesmo dos que se rebelaram contra ti.

Agora o Senhor Deus viverá ali, em nosso meio.

19 Louvado seja o Senhor; louvado seja Deus, nosso salvador!

A cada dia ele nos carrega em seus braços.

20 O nosso Deus é Deus que salva!

O Senhor Soberano nos livra da morte.

21 Deus esmagará a cabeça de seus inimigos,

esmagará o crânio dos que insistem em pecar.

22 O Senhor diz: "De Basã farei descer meus inimigos;

das profundezas do mar os farei subir.

23 Você, meu povo, lavará os pés no sangue deles,

e até seus cães terão sua porção!".

24 Já se vê teu cortejo, ó Deus,

o cortejo de meu Deus e Rei, entrando no santuário.

25 À frente vão os cantores, atrás vêm os músicos,

no meio vêm as moças tocando tamborins.

26 Louvem a Deus, todos vocês,

louvem o Senhor, a fonte de vida de Israel.

27 Vejam, à frente vai a pequena tribo de Benjamim;

logo atrás vem a grande multidão de governantes de Judá

e todos os governantes de Zebulom e Naftali.

28 Manifesta tua força, ó Deus,

mostra teu poder divino por nós, como fizeste no passado.

29 Os reis levam tributos

ao teu templo, em Jerusalém.

30 Repreende-os, esses animais selvagens à espreita entre os juncos,

essa manada de touros no meio de bezerros fracos.

Faze-os trazer barras de prata como humilde tributo,

dispersa as nações que têm prazer em guerrear.

31 Que o Egito venha com dádivas de metais preciosos,

que a Etiópia traga tributos a Deus.

32 Cantem a Deus, reinos da terra,

cantem louvores ao Senhor!

33 Cantem àquele que cavalga pelos céus antigos,

cuja voz poderosa troveja dos céus.

34 Anunciem a todos o poder de Deus;

sua majestade está sobre Israel,

sua força é poderosa nos céus.

35 Deus é temível em seu santuário;

o Deus de Israel dá poder e força a seu povo.

23 that you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood,

that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies."

24 They have seen your processions, God,

even the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

25 The singers went before, the minstrels followed after,

among the ladies playing with tambourines,

26 "Bless God in the congregations,

even the Lord in the assembly of Israel!"

27 There is little Benjamin, their ruler,

the princes of Judah, their council,

the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

28 Your God has commanded your strength.

Strengthen, God, that which you have done for us.

29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem,

kings shall bring presents to you.

30 Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds,

the multitude of the bulls with the calves of the peoples.

Trample under foot the bars of silver.

Scatter the nations who delight in war.

31 Princes shall come out of Egypt.

Ethiopia shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God.

32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth!

Sing praises to the Lord— Selah—

33 to him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old;

behold, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.

34 Ascribe strength to God!

His excellency is over Israel,

his strength is in the skies.

35 You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries.

The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people.
