1 Deus abençoou Noé e os seus filhos. E disse-lhes que se multiplicassem e repovoassem a terra.
2 Todos as criaturas da terra, assim como os pássaros e os peixes, terão medo de vocês, disse-lhes Deus. Porque coloquei-os sob o vosso domínio. Servirão para vosso alimento e subsistência, para além da comida de origem vegetal. Mas nunca comam a carne com a sua vida, isto é, com o sangue. Nunca assassinem um ser humano. Pedir-vos-ei contas do sangue humano que tenham feito derramar. E até aos animais que matarem criaturas humanas pedirei contas do sangue que derramaram, porque era a vida delas. Quem assassinar um ser humano terá de morrer, pois que ele foi feito à imagem de Deus. Multipliquem-se pois, repovoem a terra e subjuguem-na.
8 Deus disse mais a Noé e aos seus filhos:
9 Faço a minha aliança contigo, com todos os teus descendentes, e não só em relação a esses mas a todo o ser vivo que trouxeste contigo durante o dilúvio: Nunca mais mandarei à terra uma cheia semelhante que destrua tudo o que existe. E este será o sinal da aliança eterna que faço convosco: aparecerá um arco-íris na atmosfera. Quando o céu se acumular de nuvens e houver chuva há-de aparecer esse arco, como lembrança da minha aliança contigo e com todo o ser vivo de que nunca mais destruirei a vida que existe, por meio de um dilúvio semelhante. O arco-íris lembrará, a todos os seres que existem na terra, a aliança que faço convosco.
18 Os nomes dos três filhos de Noé eram pois Sem, Cam e Jafete. (Cam é aquele de quem descendem todos os cananeus.) Destes três vieram todos os povos da terra.
20 Noé tornou-se agricultor, plantou vinhas e foi vinicultor. Um dia embriagou-se e despiu-se completamente dentro da sua tenda. Cam, o pai de Canaã, viu o pai despido, saiu e foi chamar os outros dois irmãos. Então Sem e Jafete pegaram numa capa, chegaram-se de costas com a capa suspensa nos ombros, aproximaram-se do pai no meio da tenda, e assim o cobriram, sem terem visto o seu pai nu.
24 Quando Noé se refez dessa embriaguês e soube o que tinha acontecido e a forma como o seu filho mais novo, Cam, tinha agido, amaldiçoou os descendentes de Cam: Maldito sejam os cananeus. Que se tornem escravos dos descendentes de Sem e de Jafete. E acrescentou: Que Deus abençoe Sem. Que os cananeus o sirvam. Que Deus abençoe Jafete e que partilhe da prosperidade de Sem, e que os cananeus o sirvam igualmente.
28 Noé viveu ainda 350 anos depois do dilúvio. Tinha 950 anos quando morreu.
1 So God blessed Noah and his sons,and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;
2 and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens,over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea,into your hand, have they been given.
3 As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food,Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
4 Yet flesh with the life thereof, the bleed thereof, shall ye not eat;
5 And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it,and from the hand of man From the hand of each ones brother, will I require the life of man:
6 He that sheddeth mans blood, by man, shall his blood be shed,For, in the image of God, made he man.
7 Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
8 And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
9 I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you,and with your seed after you;
10 and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you,of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
11 yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood,neither shall there he any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you,to age-abiding generations:
13 My bow, have I set in the cloud,and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
14 and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth,and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
15 then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh,that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
16 so the bow shall be in the cloud,and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
17 And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, wereShem and Ham and Japheth,now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.
19 These three, were the sons of Noah,and from these, was all the earth overspread.
20 And Noah began to he a husbandman,so he planted a vineyard:
21 and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
22 And Ham the father of Canaan saw his fathers shame,and told his two brethren outside.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine,and came to know what his youngest sore had done to him.
25 And he said, Accursed be Canaan,a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
26 And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem,And let Cantata he their servant:
27 God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
28 And Noah lived after the flood,three hundred and fifty years:
29 so, all the days of Noah, werenine hundred and fifty years,and he died.
