1 The word of the LORD came to me:2 "Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal;4 and I will turn you about, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords;5 Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet;6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togar'mah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes--many peoples are with you.7 "Be ready and keep ready, you and all the hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them.8 After many days you will be mustered; in the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land where people were gathered from many nations upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste; its people were brought out from the nations and now dwell securely, all of them.9 You will advance, coming on like a storm, you will be like a cloud covering the land you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.10 "Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme11 and say, `I will go up against the land of unwalled villages; I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates';12 to seize spoil and carry off plunder; to assail the waste places which are now inhabited, and the people who were gathered from the nations, who have gotten cattle and goods, who dwell at the center of the earth.13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its villages will say to you, `Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize great spoil?'14 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, you will bestir yourself15 and come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army;16 you will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.17 "Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?18 But on that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused.19 For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;20 the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground.21 I will summon every kind of terror against Gog, says the Lord GOD; every man's sword will be against his brother.22 With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him; and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples that are with him, torrential rains and hailstones, fire and brimstone.23 So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

1 O Senhor me disse o seguinte:

2 — Homem mortal, agora fale contra Gogue, o principal governador das nações de Meseque e Tubal, na terra de Magogue. Profetize contra ele 3 e diga que eu, o Senhor Deus, estou contra ele. 4 Eu o farei dar meia-volta, porei uma argola no seu nariz e o arrastarei junto com as suas tropas para longe. Com os seus cavalos e os seus cavaleiros fardados, o seu exército é enorme. E cada soldado carrega um escudo e está armado com espada. 5 Soldados da Pérsia, Etiópia e Líbia estão com ele, e todos têm escudos e capacetes. 6 Todas as tropas das terras de Gomer e de Bete Togarma, que ficam no Norte, estão com ele, e também soldados de muitas outras nações. 7 Diga que se prepare e que apronte todas as tropas que ele comanda. 8 Depois de muitos anos, eu o mandarei invadir um país onde o povo tem vivido sem medo de guerra, desde quando foram trazidos de volta de muitas nações. Ele invadirá as montanhas de Israel, que tinham estado arrasadas e desertas por tanto tempo, mas onde agora todo o povo vive em segurança. 9 Ele, e o seu exército, e muitas nações que estão com ele atacarão como uma tempestade e cobrirão a terra como uma nuvem.

10 O que o Senhor Deus diz a Gogue é isto:

— Quando chegar aquela hora, você começará a fazer um plano perverso. 11 Você resolverá invadir um país desarmado, onde o povo vive calmo e seguro, em cidades sem muralhas e sem defesa. 12 Você assaltará o povo que vive em cidades já arrasadas e roubará o que há nelas. Os moradores dessas cidades foram tirados do meio das outras nações e reunidos num lugar só; e agora possuem gado e propriedades e vivem no centro do mundo . 13 O povo de Sabá e Dedã e os negociantes e as autoridades da Espanha lhe perguntarão: "Você reuniu o seu exército e atacou para assaltar e levar o que o povo tem? Você está pensando em pegar gado, prata e ouro e outras coisas de valor e ir embora com tudo o que roubar?"

14 Por isso, o Senhor Deus me mandou falar em seu nome a Gogue e dizer a ele o seguinte:

— Naquele tempo, quando o meu povo de Israel estiver vivendo em segurança, você sairá 15 e virá do seu lugar que fica no Norte distante. Você virá comandando um grande e poderoso exército de soldados de muitas nações, e todos a cavalo. Como uma tempestade que passa pela terra, você atacará o meu povo de Israel. 16 Quando chegar a hora, eu o mandarei invadir a minha terra para que as nações fiquem sabendo quem sou e vejam a minha santidade naquilo que estou fazendo por meio de você. 17 Você é aquele de quem falei há muito tempo, quando anunciei por meio dos meus servos, os profetas de Israel, que no futuro eu iria trazer alguém para atacar o povo de Israel.

O Senhor Deus está falando.

18 O Senhor Deus diz:

— No dia em que Gogue invadir Israel, eu ficarei furioso. 19 No calor da minha ira, afirmo que naquele dia haverá um forte terremoto na terra de Israel. 20 Todos os peixes e aves, todos os animais grandes e pequenos e todos os seres humanos do mundo inteiro tremerão de medo de mim. As montanhas serão arrasadas, as grandes pedras ficarão em pedaços, e todas as muralhas cairão. 21 Farei cair sobre Gogue todo tipo de desgraças, que o encherão de medo. Sou eu, o Senhor Deus, quem está falando. Os soldados de Gogue ferirão uns aos outros com as suas espadas. 22 Eu os castigarei com doenças e morte. Derramarei chuvas pesadas, pedras de gelo, fogo e enxofre em cima de Gogue e do seu exército e em cima das muitas nações que estão do lado dele. 23 Desse modo, mostrarei a todas as nações que sou poderoso e santo. Elas ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor.
