1 Im siebenten Jahre, am zehnten Tage des fünften Monats, begab es sich, daß etliche von den Ältesten Israels zu mir kamen, den HERRN zu befragen, und setzten sich vor mir nieder. 2 Da erging das Wort des HERRN folgendermaßen an mich: 3 Menschensohn, sage zu den Ältesten Israels und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Um mich zu befragen, seid ihr gekommen? So wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott, der HERR, ich will mich von euch nicht befragen lassen! 4 Willst du sie richten, Menschensohn? Willst du sie richten? Halte ihnen die Greuel ihrer Väter vor! 5 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Gott, der HERR: An dem Tage, als ich Israel erwählte und dem Samen des Hauses Jakob schwur und mich ihnen in Ägyptenland zu erkennen gab; ja, als ich ihnen schwur und sprach: Ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott! 6 eben an jenem Tage, als ich meine Hand für sie erhob, um sie aus Ägyptenland hinauszuführen in ein Land, welches ich ihnen ausersehen hatte, das von Milch und Honig fließt und eine Zierde vor allen Ländern ist, 7 da sprach ich zu ihnen: Werft ein jeder die Greuel weg, die er vor sich hat, und verunreinigt euch nicht an den ägyptischen Götzen! Ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott! 8 Sie aber waren mir widerspenstig und wollten nicht auf mich hören, daß ein jeder die Greuel, welche er vor sich hatte, von sich geworfen und die Götzen Ägyptens verlassen hätte. Da nahm ich mir vor, meinen Grimm über sie auszuschütten und meinen Zorn an ihnen zu kühlen mitten in Ägyptenland. 9 Aber ich handelte um meines Namens willen, daß er nicht entheiligt würde in den Augen der Heiden, unter denen sie wohnten, und vor deren Augen ich mich ihnen zu erkennen gegeben hatte, um sie aus Ägyptenland zu führen. 10 So führte ich sie denn aus Ägyptenland heraus und brachte sie in die Wüste, 11 und ich gab ihnen meine Satzungen und tat ihnen meine Rechte kund, durch die der Mensch lebt, wenn er sie tut. 12 Ich gab ihnen auch meine Sabbate, welche ein Zeichen sein sollen zwischen mir und ihnen, damit man erkenne, daß ich, der HERR, es bin, der sie heiligt. 13 Aber das Haus Israel war mir in der Wüste widerspenstig; sie wollten nicht in meinen Satzungen wandeln, sondern verwarfen meine Rechte, durch welche der Mensch lebt, wenn er sie tut, und meine Sabbate entheiligten sie sehr. Da nahm ich mir vor, meinen Grimm über sie auszuschütten und sie in der Wüste aufzureiben. 14 Aber ich handelte um meines Namens willen, daß er angesichts der Heiden, vor deren Augen ich sie ausgeführt hatte, nicht entheiligt würde. 15 Doch schwur ich ihnen auch in der Wüste, daß ich sie nicht in das Land führen wolle, welches ich ihnen bestimmt hatte, das von Milch und Honig fließt und eine Zierde vor allen Ländern ist, 16 weil sie meine Rechte verworfen und nicht nach meinen Satzungen gelebt, auch meine Sabbate entheiligt hatten, weil ihr Herz nur ihren Götzen nachging. 17 Dennoch schonte ihrer mein Auge, so daß ich sie nicht verderbte und in der Wüste nicht gänzlich aufrieb. 18 Da sagte ich in der Wüste zu ihren Söhnen: Wandelt nicht in den Satzungen eurer Väter und befolget ihre Sitten nicht und verunreinigt euch nicht mit ihren Götzen. 19 Ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott; wandelt in meinen Satzungen und beobachtet meine Rechte und tut sie; 20 und heiligt meine Sabbate; denn sie sind ein Zeichen zwischen mir und euch, daß ihr erkennet, daß Ich, der HERR, euer Gott bin! 21 Aber die Söhne waren mir auch ungehorsam, sie wandelten nicht in meinen Satzungen und beobachteten meine Rechte nicht, daß sie dieselben befolgt hätten (obgleich der Mensch, wenn er sie tut, dadurch lebt), und sie entheiligten meine Sabbate. Da nahm ich mir abermal vor, meinen Grimm über sie auszuschütten und in der Wüste meinen Zorn an ihnen zu vollstrecken. 22 Aber ich zog meine Hand zurück und handelte um meines Namens willen, daß er angesichts der Heiden vor deren Augen ich sie ausgeführt hatte, nicht entheiligt werde. 23 Doch schwur ich ihnen in der Wüste, daß ich sie unter die Nationen zerstreuen und in die Länder versprengen werde, 24 weil sie meine Rechte nicht beobachtet und meine Satzungen verworfen und meine Sabbate entheiligt und ihre Augen nach den Götzen ihrer Väter gerichtet hatten. 25 So habe auch ich ihnen Gesetze gegeben, welche nicht gut waren, und Rechte, durch die sie nicht leben konnten, 26 und habe sie verunreinigt durch ihre Opfergaben, indem sie alle ihre Erstgeburt durchs Feuer gehen ließen, damit ich sie mit Entsetzen erfüllte, auf daß sie erführen, daß Ich der HERR bin. 27 Darum, o Menschensohn, rede mit dem Hause Israel und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Auch dadurch haben mich eure Väter gelästert, daß sie treulos an mir handelten: 28 denn als ich sie in das Land gebracht, betreffs dessen ich geschworen hatte, daß ich es ihnen geben wolle, da ersahen sie jeden hohen Hügel und dichtbelaubten Baum und schlachteten daselbst ihre Opfer und brachten dort ihre Gaben dar und ihr lieblich duftendes Räucherwerk, um mich zu ärgern, und gossen daselbst ihre Trankopfer aus. 29 Da fragte ich sie: Was soll diese Höhe, dahin ihr gehet? Daher nannte man sie «Höhe» bis auf diesen Tag. 30 Darum sprich zum Hause Israel: Also spricht Gott, der HERR: Verunreinigt ihr euch nicht nach der Weise eurer Väter und buhlet ihren Götzen nach? 31 Ja, durch die Darbringung eurer Gaben, dadurch, daß ihr eure Kinder durchs Feuer gehen lasset, verunreinigt ihr euch an allen euren Götzen bis auf diesen Tag; und ich sollte mich gleichwohl von euch befragen lassen, Haus Israel? So wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott, der HERR, ich will von euch nicht befragt sein! 32 Und was euch in den Sinn gekommen ist, daß ihr saget: «Wir wollen sein wie die Heiden, wie die Geschlechter anderer Länder, indem wir Holz und Stein dienen», das soll nicht geschehen! 33 So wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott, der HERR, ich will selbst mit gewaltiger Hand, mit ausgestrecktem Arm und mit ausgeschüttetem Grimm über euch herrschen; 34 und ich will euch aus den Völkern herausführen und euch aus den Ländern sammeln, in welche ihr zerstreut worden seid, mit gewaltiger Hand, mit ausgestrecktem Arm und mit ausgeschüttetem Grimm; 35 und ich will euch in die Wüste der Völker führen und dort mit euch rechten von Angesicht zu Angesicht. 36 Wie ich in der Wüste des Landes Ägypten mit euren Vätern gerechtet habe, so will ich auch mit euch rechten, spricht Gott, der HERR. 37 Ich will euch unter dem Stabe hindurchgehen lassen und euch in die Bundesverpflichtungen einführen. 38 Ich will auch die Abtrünnigen und die Übertreter von euch absondern, ich will sie aus dem Lande ihrer Pilgrimschaft herausführen; aber sie sollen nicht wieder in das Land Israel kommen, und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin. 39 So gehet nur, spricht Gott, der HERR, ihr vom Hause Israel, und dienet ein jeder seinen Götzen! Darnach werdet ihr gewiß auf mich hören und meinen heiligen Namen hinfort nicht mehr mit euren Gaben und Götzen entheiligen! 40 Denn auf meinem heiligen Berge, auf dem erhabenen Gebirge Israels, spricht Gott, der HERR, daselbst wird mir das ganze Haus Israel dienen, sie alle, im Lande; daselbst will ich ihnen gnädig sein; und daselbst will ich eure Hebopfer fordern und eure Erstlingsgaben und alles, was ihr heiligt. 41 Als einen lieblichen Geruch will ich euch gnädig annehmen, wenn ich euch aus den Völkern herausführe und euch aus den Ländern, in welche ihr zerstreut worden seid, sammle, daß ich an euch vor den Augen der Heiden geheiligt werde. 42 Und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich euch in das Land Israel führe, in das Land, über dem ich meine Hand erhoben habe, daß ich es euren Vätern geben werde. 43 Daselbst werdet ihr an eure Wege gedenken und an alle eure Taten, mit denen ihr euch verunreinigt habt; und ihr werdet an euch selbst Mißfallen haben, wegen aller eurer bösen Taten, die ihr begangen habt. 44 Und ihr werdet erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich mit euch handeln werde um meines Namens willen und nicht nach eurem bösen Wandel und euren ruchlosen Taten, Haus Israel, spricht Gott, der HERR! 45 (021-1) das Wort des HERRN erging an mich also: 46 (021-2) schensohn, richte dein Angesicht gegen Mittag und rede gegen Süden und weissage wider den Wald des Gefildes im Südland; 47 (021-3) sage zu dem südlichen Walde: Höre das Wort des HERRN! So spricht Gott, der HERR: Siehe, ich will ein Feuer in dir anzünden, das wird alle grünen und alle dürren Bäume in dir verzehren; niemand kann seine brennende Flamme löschen, sondern alle Gesichter sollen durch sie verbrannt werden, vom Süden bis zum Norden, 48 (021-4) alles Fleisch wird sehen, daß ich, der HERR, es angezündet habe; es soll nicht erlöschen! 49 (021-5) sprach ich: Ach, Herr, HERR, sie werden von mir sagen: «Redet er nicht in Gleichnissen?»

4 "E whakawā rānei koe i a rātou, e te tama a te tangata, e whakawā rānei koe? Meinga kia mōhio rātou ki ngā mea whakarihariha a ō rātou mātua, 5 mea atu hoki ki a rātou: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: I te rā i whiriwhiria ai e ahau a Īharaira, i tōku ringa i ara rā ki ngā uri o te whare o Hākopa – i mōhiotia ai ahau e rātou i te whenua o Īhipa – i tōku ringa i ara atu rā ki a rātou, i ahau i mea rā, ‘Ko Ihowā ahau, ko tō koutou Atua.’ 6 I taua rā anō i ara ai tōku ringa ki a rātou ki te tango mai i a rātou i te whenua o Īhipa ki te whenua i tirohia e ahau mō rātou, e rerengia ana e te waiū, e te honi, ki te wāhi ātaahua rawa o ngā whenua katoa. 7 I mea ahau ki a rātou, ‘Makā e tērā, e tērā, ngā mea whakarihariha o ōna kanohi; kaua hoki koutou e whakapokea ki ngā whakapakoko o Īhipa; ko Ihowā ahau, ko tō koutou Atua.’

8 "Otiia, kei te whakakeke rātou ki ahau, kīhai hoki i pai ki te whakarongo ki ahau, kīhai i makā atu e rātou ngā mea whakarihariha o ngā kanohi o tērā, o tērā, kīhai i whakarērea e rātou ngā whakapakoko o Īhipa. 21 "Otiia kei te whakakeke ngā tamariki ki ahau: Kīhai i haere i runga i āku tikanga, kīhai hoki i pupuri i āku whakaritenga hei mahi mā rātou; ki te mahia hoki ēnā e te tangata, ka ai hei oranga mōna; ko āku hāpati hoki, whakapokea iho e rātou. 27 "Mō reira kōrero ki te whare o Īharaira, e te tama a te tangata, mea atu ki a rātou: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: Tēnei anō tētahi kohukohu a ō koutou mātua ki ahau, i a rātou i mahi nei i te hē ki ahau. 28 Ka oti rātou te kawe e ahau ki te whenua i ara ai tōku ringa kia hoatu a reira ki a rātou, nā, ka kite rātou i tēnā pukepuke tiketike, i tēnā, i tēnā rākau pūruru, i tēnā, nā, patua ana e rātou ki reira ā rātou patunga tapu, tāpaea ana e rātou ki reira te mea whakapātaritari, tā rātou whakahere. 30 "Mō reira mea atu ki te whare o Īharaira: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: Ka whakapoke rānei koutou i a koutou, ka pērā me ō koutou mātua? Ka whai rānei koutou i ā rātou mea whakarihariha moepuku ai? 31 I te mea hoki ka tāpaea e koutou ā koutou mea hoatu noa, ā, ka meinga ā koutou tamariki kia tika nā roto i te ahi, e whakapoke ana rānei koutou i a koutou anō ki ā koutou whakapakoko katoa ā mohoa noa nei? Ā, me rapu tikanga mai rānei i ahau mā koutou, e te whare o Īharaira? E ora ana ahau, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā, e kore ahau e pai kia uia e koutou."

32 "Nā, ko te mea i puta ake ki ō koutou wairua e kore rawa e taea, tā koutou e kī rā, ‘Ka rite tātou ki ngā tauiwi, ki ngā hapū o ngā whenua, ka mahi ki te rākau, ki te kōhatu.’ 33 E ora ana ahau, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā, inā, he ringa kaha tōku, he tākakau mārō, he weriweri kua oti te riringi atu, i ahau ka kāwana nei i a koutou. 34 Ka tangohia mai anō koutou e ahau i roto i ngā iwi, ka huihuia i ngā whenua i whakamararatia atu ai koutou, he meatanga nā te ringa kaha, nā te tākakau mārō, nā te weriweri kua oti te riringi atu. 35 Ā, ka kawea koutou e ahau ki te koraha o ngā iwi, ā, ki reira ahau whakawā ai i a koutou, he kanohi ki te kanohi. 36 Ka rite ki tāku whakawā i ō koutou mātua i te koraha o te whenua o Īhipa; ka pēnā anō tāku whakawā i a koutou, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā. 37 Ka meinga anō koutou e ahau kia tika i raro i te tokotoko, kia uru ki roto ki te here o te kawenata. 38 Ka tahia atu hoki e ahau i roto i a koutou te hunga whakakeke, te hunga hoki e tutū ana ki ahau. 39 "Nā, ko koutou, e te whare o Īharaira, ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: Haere, e mahi ki tāna whakapakoko, ki tāna whakapakoko, i ngā wā e takoto ake nei, ki te kore koutou e rongo ki ahau; kaua ia tōku ingoa tapu e whakapokea i muri ki ā koutou mea hōmai noa, ki ā koutou whakapakoko.

40 "Hei tōku maunga tapu hoki, hei te maunga o te tairangatanga o Īharaira, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā, hei reira te whare katoa o Īharaira, rātou katoa i te whenua, mahi ai ki ahau. Ko te wāhi tērā e manako ai ahau ki a rātou, ko te wāhi anō tērā e mea ake ai ahau ki ā koutou whakahere māku, ki ngā mātāmua o ā koutou mea e tāpae mai ai, ki ā koutou mea tapu katoa. 41 Ka manako ahau ki a koutou, ānō he whakakakara reka, ina tangohia mai koutou e ahau i roto i ngā iwi, ina huihuia mai i ngā whenua i whakamararatia atu ai koutou; ā, ka ai koutou hei whakatapu mōku i te tirohanga a ngā iwi. 42 Nā, ka mōhio koutou ko Ihowā ahau, ina kawea koutou e ahau ki te oneone o Īharaira, ki te whenua i ara ai tōku ringa kia hoatu a reira ki ō koutou mātua. 43 Ka mahara anō koutou i reira ki ō koutou ara, ki ā koutou mahi katoa i poke ai koutou; ā, ka whakarihariha koutou ki a koutou, ki tā koutou ake titiro, mō ngā mea kikino katoa i mahia e koutou. 44 Ā, ka mōhio koutou ko Ihowā ahau, ina ngana ahau ki a koutou, he mea mō tōku ingoa, kāhore anō ia e rite ki ō koutou ara kino, ki ā koutou mahi hē rānei, e te whare o Īharaira, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā."

45 I puta mai anō te kupu a Ihowā ki ahau, i mea: 46 "E te tama a te tangata, anga atu tōu mata whaka te tonga, kia māturuturu atu anō tāu kupu whaka te tonga, poropititia he hē mō te ngahere o te pārae ki te tonga. 47 Mea atu hoki ki te ngahere i te tonga: Whakarongo ki te kupu a Ihowā; Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: Ka whakaūngia e ahau he ahi i roto i a koe, ā, ka pau ngā rākau matomato katoa i roto i a koe, me ngā rākau maroke katoa; e kore te mura e tineia, ka mura tonu, ka wera anō ngā kanohi katoa i reira, i te tonga tae noa ki te raki. 48 Ā, ka kite ngā kikokiko katoa, nāku, nā Ihowā i whakaū; e kore e tineia."

49 Anō rā ko ahau, "Auē, e te Ariki, e Ihowā! E mea ana rātou ki ahau, ‘He teka ianei he kōrero whakatauki āna e kōrero nei?’ "
