Apocalipse 8

O sétimo selo. Os sete anjos com as sete trombetas

1 Quando ele abriu *Ap 5.1;6.1,3,5,7,9,12o sétimo selo, houve um *cp.Ap 5.9, etc.silêncio no céu quase por meia hora. 2 Vi *Ap 8.6-13;Ap 9.1,13;11.15; cp.Ap 1.4;Mt 18.10os sete anjos que estão em pé diante de Deus, e lhes foram dadas sete *1Co 15.52;1Ts 4.16trombetas.

O incenso com as orações dos santos

3 Veio *cp.Ap 7.2outro anjo e parou diante do *Ap 6.9; cp.Am 9.1altar, tendo um *Hb 9.4turíbulo de ouro; e foi-lhe dado muito *Ap 5.8incenso para o ajuntar às orações de todos os santos sobre o *Êx 30.1,3;Nm 4.11;Ap 8.5;Ap 9.13altar de ouro, que estava diante do trono. 4 Subiu *Sl 141.2o fumo do incenso com as orações dos santos da mão do anjo, diante de Deus. 5 O anjo tomou o turíbulo, *Lv 16.12e o encheu do fogo do altar, *cp.Ez 10.2e o lançou sobre a terra; e houve *Ap 4.5trovões, vozes, relâmpago e *Ap 6.12terremoto.

6 *Ap 8.2Os sete anjos que tinham as sete trombetas prepararam-se para as fazer soar.

A primeira trombeta

7 Tocou o primeiro a trombeta. Seguiu-se *Ez 38.22; cp.Is 28.2;Jl 2.30saraiva e fogo, misturados com sangue, e foram lançados sobre a terra. Foi queimada a terça parte da terra, e *Ap 8.7-12; cp.Ap 9.15,18;12.4;Zc 13.8-9a terça parte das *cp.Ap 9.4árvores, e toda erva verde.

A segunda trombeta

8 O segundo anjo tocou a trombeta. Foi lançado no mar um como grande *Jr 51.25monte ardendo de fogo; a terça parte do *Ap 16.3; cp.11.6;Êx 7.17ss.mar tornou-se em sangue, 9 e a terça parte das criaturas que estavam no mar, a saber, das que tinham vida, morreu, e a terça parte *cp.Is 2.16dos navios foi destruída.

A terceira trombeta

10 O terceiro anjo tocou a trombeta. *Ap 9.1; cp.Is 14.12;Ap 6.13Caiu do céu uma grande estrela, ardendo como um facho, e caiu sobre a terça parte dos rios, e sobre *Ap 14.7;16.4as fontes das águas. 11 A estrela é chamada Absinto. A terça parte das águas converteu-se em *Jr 9.15;23.15absinto, e muitos homens morreram pelas águas, porque elas se tornaram amargosas.

A quarta trombeta

12 O quarto anjo tocou a trombeta. Foi ferida a terça parte *Ap 6.12s.; cp.Êx 10.21ss.do sol, a terça parte da lua e a terça parte das estrelas, para que a terça parte deles se escurecesse, e faltasse a terça parte da luz do dia, e, do mesmo modo, da noite.

A águia e os ais

13 Olhei e ouvi uma águia que voava *Ap 14.6;19.17pelo meio do céu, dizendo com uma grande voz: *cp.Ap 9.12;11.14;12.12Ai! Ai! Ai *Ap 3.10dos que habitam sobre a terra, por causa das outras vozes da trombeta dos *Ap 8.2três anjos, que ainda têm de tocar!

1 When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

3 Another angel came and stood over the altar, having a golden censer. Much incense was given to him, that he should add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 The angel took the censer, and he filled it with the fire of the altar, then threw it on the earth. Thunders, sounds, lightnings, and an earthquake followed.

6 The seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 The first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. One third of the earth was burned up,*8:7 TR omits "One third of the earth was burned up" and one third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea. One third of the sea became blood, 9 and one third of the living creatures which were in the sea died. One third of the ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is "Wormwood." One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars, so that one third of them would be darkened; and the day wouldn’t shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way. 13 I saw, and I heard an eagle,*8:13 TR reads "angel" instead of "eagle" flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the other blasts of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!"
