1 Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: o pórtico do átrio interior que fica fronteiro ao oriente será fechado durante os seis dias consagrados ao trabalho. Abrir-se-á no dia de sábado, assim como na lua nova.2 O príncipe, chegando de fora para o vestíbulo do pórtico, colocar-se-á perto dos por tais do pórtico, enquanto os sacerdotes oferecerão seu holocausto e seus sacrifícios pacíficos. Após haver-se prosternado sobre o limiar do pórtico, ele se retirará; mas o pórtico não será fechado até a tarde.3 O povo se prostrará diante do Senhor, à entrada desse pórtico, nos dias de sábado e de lua nova.4 O holocausto que oferecerá o príncipe ao Senhor, no dia de sábado, será de seis ovelhas sem defeito e de um cordeiro intacto.5 A oferenda para o cordeiro será de um efá; para as ovelhas, ela será deixada à sua escolha; quanto ao óleo ele oferecerá um hin por efá.6 No dia da lua nova, oferecerá um novilho sem defeito, seis ovelhas, e um carneiro sem defeito.7 A oferenda para o carneiro será de um efá; para as ovelhas será proporcional aos seus meios; quanto ao óleo, oferecerá um hin por efá.8 Logo que chegar, o príncipe passará pelo vestíbulo do pórtico e, ao sair, tomará idêntico caminho.9 Quando o povo vier apresentar-se diante do Senhor, por ocasião das solenidades, aquele que tiver entrado pela porta norte, para se prosternar, sairá pela porta sul; o que vier pela porta sul sairá pela porta norte; não voltará pela porta que tiver tomado à entrada, mas sairá pela porta que tiver diante de si.10 O príncipe ficará no meio deles, entrando e saindo como eles.11 Por ocasião das festas e solenidades, a oferenda será de um efá por touro e por cordeiro; para as ovelhas, será deixada à sua escolha; no que toca ao óleo, oferecerá um hin por efá.12 Quando o príncipe quiser oferecer ao Senhor um holocausto voluntário ou um sacrifício pacífico, abrir-se-lhe-á a porta que olha para o oriente, e ele oferecerá seu holocausto e seu sacrifício pacífico como faz no dia do sábado. Quando sair, fechar-se-á a porta imediatamente após ele.13 Imolarás diariamente ao Senhor em holocausto um cordeiro de um ano, sem defeito. Assim farás cada manhã.14 Como oferenda, oferecerás ao Senhor todas as manhãs com o cordeiro um sexto de efá, assim como um terço de hin de óleo para umedecer a farinha. Esta é uma regra perpétua:15 oferecer se-á a cada manhã um cordeiro em oblação com o óleo em holocausto perpétuo.16 Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: se o príncipe fizer a um de seus filhos uma doação do seu domínio, esse donativo pertencerá a seus filhos a título de propriedade patrimonial.17 Se fizer semelhante donativo a um de seus servidores, a doação pertencerá também a este, mas unicamente até o ano da libertação, no qual ela retornará ao príncipe. É só a seus filhos que continuará como herança.18 O príncipe nada usurpará do patrimônio do povo, despojando-o de alguma de suas propriedades; ele constituirá um patrimônio a seus filhos unicamente de sua propriedade, a fim de que ninguém dentre o meu povo seja privado de suas posses.19 Ele me conduziu, logo a seguir, pela entrada vizinha do pórtico, às câmaras sagradas reservadas aos sacerdotes, frente ao norte; e eu vi lá um espaço, ao fundo, para o ocidente.20 É ali, disse-me, o lugar onde os sacerdotes cozem as carnes oferecidas em sacrifício pelo pecado e pelo delito, e onde cozem as oferendas, a fim de não levá-las ao átrio exterior e não tocar o povo com as coisas santas.21 Em seguida, me fez sair para o átrio exterior e passar diante dos quatro ângulos do átrio, em cada um dos quais havia um pátio.22 Nos quatro ângulos do átrio encontravam-se ainda pequenos pátios, medindo quarenta côvados de comprimento por trinta de largura, todos os quatro iguais,23 todos os quatro cercados de um muro, ao pé do qual, em toda a volta, havia fogões.24 São, disse-me ele, as cozinhas, onde os servidores do templo cozem as carnes das vítimas oferecidas pelo povo.

1 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall remain locked the six working days; but on the sabbath day shall it be opened, and on the new–moon day shall it be opened.2 And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate, from without, and shall stand by the door–post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt–offering and his peace–offerings, and he shall bow himself down at the threshold of the gate, and he shall then go forth; but the gate shall not be locked until the evening.3 And the people of the land shall bow themselves down at the door of this same gate on the sabbaths and on the new–moons before the Lord.4 And the burnt–offering which the prince is to offer unto the Lord, shall be on the sabbath–day six sheep without blemish, and a ram without blemish;5 And as a meat–offering an ephah for the ram, and for the sheep a meat–offering as his hand may be able to give, and a hin of oil for every ephah.6 And on the day of the new moon, a young bullock without blemish, and six sheep and a ram; without blemish shall they be.7 And an ephah for the bullock, and an ephah for the ram, shall he prepare as a meat–offering, and for the sheep according as his means may reach, and a hin of oil for every ephah.8 And when the prince doth enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate, and by the same way shall he go forth.9 But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to bow himself down shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go out by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in; but by that opposite to him shall he go out.10 And as for the prince––in the midst of them, when they go in, shall he go in; and when they go out, shall they go out together.11 And on the feasts and on the appointed festivals shall the meat–offering be an ephah for each bullock, and an ephah for each ram, and for the sheep as his hand may be able to give, and a hin of oil for every ephah.12 And when the prince doth prepare as a voluntary gift a burnt–offering, or a peace–offering, as a voluntary gift unto the Lord: then shall be opened for him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt–offering and his peace–offering, as he usually doth on the sabbath–day; and he shall go out, and the gate shall be locked after his going out.13 And a sheep of the first year without blemish shalt thou prepare as a burnt–offering every day unto the Lord: morning by morning shalt thou prepare it.14 And as a meat–offering shalt thou prepare with it, morning by morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third of a hin of oil, to mingle with the fine flour––a meat–offering unto the Lord, as ordinances for ever continually.15 Thus shall they prepare the sheep, and the meat–offering, and the oil, morning by morning, as a continual burnt–offering.16 Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, If the prince make gift unto any one of his sons, it is his inheritance, it shall belong to his sons: it shall be their possession as their inheritance.17 But if he make a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants: then shall it remain his to the year of freedom, when it shall return to the prince; but his inheritance shall only remain for his sons.18 But the prince shall not take any thing from the inheritance of the people, to wrong them out of their possession: out of his own possession can he give an inheritance to his sons; in order that not one of my people be deprived of his possession.19 And then he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place by the back wall on the west side.20 And he said unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass–offering and the sin–offering, where also they shall bake the meat–offering; so as not to carry the same out into the outer court, to mingle with the people.21 Then did he lead me forth into the outer court, and caused me to pass along the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court.22 In the four corners of the court there were uncovered courts of forty cubits in length and thirty in breadth: there was one measure for all these four in the corners.23 And there was a shelf of masonry round about in them, round about all these four, and it was furnished with hearths for boiling under the shelves round about.24 Then said he unto me, These are the places of those that boil, where the servants of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.
