1 Levanta-te, resplandece, porque vem a tua luz, e a glória do Senhor vai nascendo sobre ti;2 Porque eis que as trevas cobriram a terra, e a escuridão os povos; mas sobre ti o Senhor virá surgindo, e a sua glória se verá sobre ti.3 E os gentios caminharão à tua luz, e os reis ao resplendor que te nasceu.4 Levanta em redor os teus olhos, e vê; todos estes já se ajuntaram, e vêm a ti; teus filhos virão de longe, e tuas filhas serão criadas ao teu lado.5 Então o verás, e serás iluminado, e o teu coração estremecerá e se alargará; porque a abundância do mar se tornará a ti, e as riquezas dos gentios virão a ti.6 A multidão de camelos te cobrirá, os dromedários de Midiã e Efá; todos virão de Sabá; ouro e incenso trarão, e publicarão os louvores do Senhor.7 Todas as ovelhas de Quedar se congregarão a ti; os carneiros de Nebaiote te servirão; com agrado subirão ao meu altar, e eu glorificarei a casa da minha glória.8 Quem são estes que vêm voando como nuvens, e como pombas às suas janelas?9 Certamente as ilhas me aguardarão, e primeiro os navios de Társis, para trazer teus filhos de longe, e com eles a sua prata e o seu ouro, para o nome do Senhor teu Deus, e para o Santo de Israel, porquanto ele te glorificou.10 E os filhos dos estrangeiros edificarão os teus muros, e os seus reis te servirão; porque no meu furor te feri, mas na minha benignidade tive misericórdia de ti.11 E as tuas portas estarão abertas de contínuo, nem de dia nem de noite se fecharão; para que tragam a ti as riquezas dos gentios, e, conduzidos com elas, os seus reis.12 Porque a nação e o reino que não te servirem perecerão; sim, essas nações serão de todo assoladas.13 A glória do Líbano virá a ti; a faia, o pinheiro, e o álamo conjuntamente, para ornarem o lugar do meu santuário, e glorificarei o lugar dos meus pés.14 Também virão a ti, inclinando-se, os filhos dos que te oprimiram; e prostrar-se-ão às plantas dos teus pés todos os que te desprezaram; e chamar-te-ão a cidade do Senhor, a Sião do Santo de Israel.15 Em lugar de seres deixada, e odiada, de modo que ninguém passava por ti, far-te-ei uma excelência perpétua, um gozo de geração em geração.16 E mamarás o leite dos gentios, e alimentar-te-ás ao peito dos reis; e saberás que eu sou o Senhor, o teu Salvador, e o teu Redentor, o Poderoso de Jacó.17 Por cobre trarei ouro, e por ferro trarei prata, e por madeira, bronze, e por pedras, ferro; e farei pacíficos os teus oficiais e justos os teus exatores.18 Nunca mais se ouvirá de violência na tua terra, desolação nem destruição nos teus termos; mas aos teus muros chamarás Salvação, e às tuas portas Louvor.19 Nunca mais te servirá o sol para luz do dia nem com o seu resplendor a lua te iluminará; mas o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e o teu Deus a tua glória.20 Nunca mais se porá o teu sol, nem a tua lua minguará; porque o Senhor será a tua luz perpétua, e os dias do teu luto findarão.21 E todos os do teu povo serão justos, para sempre herdarão a terra; serão renovos por mim plantados, obra das minhas mãos, para que eu seja glorificado.22 O menor virá a ser mil, e o mínimo uma nação forte; eu, o Senhor, ao seu tempo o farei prontamente.

1 Arise, give light, for thy light is come; and the glory of the Lord is shining forth over thee.2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and a gross darkness the people; but over thee will shine forth the Lord, and his glory will be seen over thee.3 And nations shall walk by thy light, and kings by the brightness of thy shining.4 Lift up thy eyes round about and see, they all are assembled, they come to thee, thy sons are coming from afar, and thy daughters are brought along in arms.5 Then wilt thou see and be filled with light, and thy heart will dread and be enlarged; because unto thee shall be turned the abundance of the sea, the riches of nations shall come unto thee.6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and ‘Ephah; they all from Sheba shall come: gold and frankincense shall they carry, and the praises of the Lord shall they announce.7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be assembled unto thee, the rams of Nebayoth shall minister unto thee: they shall come for a favorable acceptance unto me upon my altar, and the house of my glory will I glorify.8 Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like the doves, to their windows?9 Yea, unto me the inhabitants of the isles shall hasten, and the ships of Tharshish at first, to bring thy sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel; because he hath glorified thee.10 And the sons of the stranger shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee; for in my wrath did I smite thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.11 And thy gates shall stand open continually, day and night shall they not be closed, to bring unto thee the wealth of nations, and their kings led captive.12 For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; and the nations shall be utterly destroyed.13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir, the cypress, and the box together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary, and the resting place of my feet will I glorify.14 And then shall come unto thee bent down the sons of those who afflicted thee, and there shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet all thy revilers; and they shall call thee, The city of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.15 Instead that thou wast forsaken and hated, without one to pass through thee, will I render thee an excellency of everlasting, a joy of all generations.16 And thou shalt suck the milk of nations, and the breast of kings shalt thou suck; and thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.17 Instead of the copper will I bring gold, and instead of the iron will I bring silver, and instead of wood copper, and instead of the stones iron; and I will set peace as thy authorities, and righteousness as thy taskmasters.18 There shall not be heard any wore violence in thy land, wasting and destruction within thy boundaries; but thou shalt call, Salvation, thy walls, and thy gates, Praise.19 The sun shall not be unto thee any more for a light by day, and for brightness shall the moon not give light unto thee; but the Lord will be unto thee for a light of everlasting, and thy God as thy glory.20 Thy sun shall not go down any more, and thy moon shall not be withdrawn; for the Lord will be unto thee for a light of everlasting, and ended shall be the days of thy mourning,21 And thy people––they all will be righteous, for ever shall they possess the land, the sprout of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may glorify myself.22 The little one shall become a thousand, and the small, a mighty nation: I the Lord will hasten it in its time.
