1 Por amor de Sião não me calarei, e por amor de Jerusalém não me aquietarei, até que saia a sua justiça como um resplendor, e a sua salvação como uma tocha acesa.2 E os gentios verão a tua justiça, e todos os reis a tua glória; e chamar-te-ão por um nome novo, que a boca do Senhor designará.3 E serás uma coroa de glória na mão do Senhor, e um diadema real na mão do teu Deus.4 Nunca mais te chamarão: Desamparada, nem a tua terra se denominará jamais: Assolada; mas chamar-te-ão: O meu prazer está nela, e à tua terra: A casada; porque o Senhor se agrada de ti, e a tua terra se casará.5 Porque, como o jovem se casa com a virgem, assim teus filhos se casarão contigo; e como o noivo se alegra da noiva, assim se alegrará de ti o teu Deus.6 Ó Jerusalém, sobre os teus muros pus guardas, que todo o dia e toda a noite jamais se calarão; ó vós, os que fazeis lembrar ao Senhor, não haja descanso em vós,7 Nem deis a ele descanso, até que confirme, e até que ponha a Jerusalém por louvor na terra.8 Jurou o Senhor pela sua mão direita, e pelo braço da sua força: Nunca mais darei o teu trigo por comida aos teus inimigos, nem os estrangeiros beberão o teu mosto, em que trabalhaste.9 Mas os que o ajuntarem o comerão, e louvarão ao Senhor; e os que o colherem beberão nos átrios do meu santuário.10 Passai, passai pelas portas; preparai o caminho ao povo; aplainai, aplainai a estrada, limpai-a das pedras; arvorai a bandeira aos povos.11 Eis que o Senhor fez ouvir até às extremidades da terra: Dizei à filha de Sião: Eis que vem a tua salvação; eis que com ele vem o seu galardão, e a sua obra diante dele.12 E chamar-lhes-ão: Povo santo, remidos do Senhor; e tu serás chamada: Procurada, a cidade não desamparada.

1 For the sake of Zion will I not be silent, and for the sake of Jerusalem will I not be quiet; until its righteousness go forth as the brightness of light, and its salvation as a burning torch.2 And nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory; and men shall call thee by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall pronounce.3 And thou shalt be a crown of ornament in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.4 Thou shalt not be termed any more "Forsaken," and thy land shall not be termed any more "Desolate;" for thou shalt be called "My delight in her" Chephzi–bah, and thy land "Espoused" Be’ulah ; for the Lord will have delight in thee, and thy land shall be espoused.5 For as a young man espouseth a virgin, so shall thy sons espouse thee; and as the bridegroom is glad over the bride, so will be glad over thee thy God.6 Over thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I appointed watchmen, all the day and all the night, continually, shall they not be silent: ye that make mention of the Lord, take ye no rest.7 And give him no rest, until he have established, and until he have set up Jerusalem as a praise on the earth.8 Sworn hath the Lord by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, I will not give thy corn any more as food for thy enemies, and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy young wine for which thou hast labored;9 But they who gather it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they who bring it together shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.10 Pass, pass through the gates, make clear the way of the people, cast up, cast up the highway, remove away the stones, lift up a banner over the nations.11 Behold, the Lord hath caused to be heard unto the ends of the earth, "Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold his reward is with him, and his recompense before him."12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord; and thou shalt be called, Sought for, Derusha, The city never forsaken.
