Salmos 144

A Psalm of David.

1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:*144.1 strength: Heb. rock*144.1 to war…: Heb. to the war, etc

2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.*144.2 My goodness: or, My mercy

3 LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

4 Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

5 Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

7 Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;*144.7 hand from: Heb. hands from

8 Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

10 It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.*144.10 salvation: or, victory

11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:*144.12 polished: Heb. cut

13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:*144.13 all…: Heb. from kind to kind

14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.*144.14 strong…: Heb. able to bear burdens, or, loaden with flesh

15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

1 Davidův. Požehnaný Hospodin skála má, kterýž učí ruce mé boji, a prsty mé bitvě. 2 Milosrdenství mé a hrad můj, útočiště mé, vysvoboditel můj, a štít můj, protož v něhoť já doufám; onť mi podmaňuje lidi. 3 Hospodine, co jest člověk, že se znáš k němu, a syn člověka, že ho sobě tak vážíš? 4 Èlověk marnosti podobný jest, dnové jeho jako stín pomíjející. 5 Hospodine, nakloň svých nebes a sstup, dotkni se hor, a kouřiti se budou. 6 Sešli hromobití a rozptyl je, vypusť střely své a poraz je. 7 Vztáhni ruku svou s výsosti, vysvoboď mne, a vytrhni mne z vod mnohých, z ruky cizozemců. 8 Jejichž ústa mluví marnost, a pravice jejich jest pravice lživá. 9 Bože, píseň novou zpívati budu tobě na loutně, a na desíti strunách žalmy tobě prozpěvovati, 10 Dávajícímu vítězství králům, a vysvobozujícímu Davida, služebníka svého od meče vražedlného. 11 Vysvoboď mne, a vytrhni mne z ruky cizozemců, jejichž ústa mluví marnost, a pravice jejich pravice lživá. 12 Aby synové naši byli jako štípkové zdárně rostoucí v mladosti své, a dcery naše jako úhelní kamenové, tesaní ku podobenství chrámu. 13 Špižírny naše plné ať vydávají všelijaké potravy; dobytek náš ať rodí na tisíce, a na deset tisíců v stájích našich. 14 Volové naši ať jsou vytylí; ať není vpádu ani zajetí, ani naříkání na ulicích našich. 15 Blahoslavený lid, jemuž se tak děje, blahoslavený ten lid, jehož Hospodin Bohem jest.
