Salmos 4

To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David.

1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.*4.1 chief…: or, overseer*4.1 have…: or, be gracious unto me

2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

1 Přednímu zpěváku na neginot, žalm Davidův. 2 Když volám, vyslyš mne, Bože spravedlnosti mé. Ty jsi mi v úzkosti prostranství způsoboval, smiluj se nade mnou, a vyslyš modlitbu mou. 3 Synové lidští, dokudž sláva má v potupě bude? Dlouho-liž marnost milovati a lži hledati budete? Sélah. 4 Vězte, žeť jest oddělil Hospodin sobě milého. Vyslyšíť mne Hospodin, když k němu volati budu. 5 Uleknětež se a nehřešte, přemyšlujte o tom v srdci svém, na ložci svém, a umlkněte. Sélah. 6 Obětujte oběti spravedlnosti, a doufejte v Hospodina. 7 Mnozí říkají: Ó bychom viděti mohli dobré věci. Hospodine, pozdvihni nad námi jasného oblíčeje svého, 8 I způsobíš radost v srdci mém větší, než oni mívají, když obilé a víno jejich se obrodí. 9 Jáť u pokoji i lehnu i spáti budu; nebo ty, Hospodine, sám způsobíš mi bydlení bezpečné.
