Salmos 19

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.*19.3 where…: or, without these their voice is heard: Heb. without their voice heard

4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,*19.4 line: or, rule, or, direction

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.*19.7 law: or, doctrine*19.7 converting: or, restoring

8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.*19.9 true: Heb. truth

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.*19.10 the honeycomb: Heb. the dropping of honeycombs

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.*19.13 the great: or, much

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.*19.14 strength: Heb. rock

1 Přednímu z kantorů, žalm Davidův. 2 Nebesa vypravují slávu Boha silného, a dílo rukou jeho obloha zvěstuje. 3 Den po dni vynáší řeč, a noc po noci ukazuje umění. 4 Neníť řeči ani slov, kdež by nemohl slyšán býti hlas jejich. 5 Po vší zemi rozchází se zpráva jejich, a až do končin okršlku slova jich, slunci pak rozbil stánek na nich. 6 Kteréž jako ženich vychází z pokoje svého, veselí se jako udatný rek, cestou běžeti maje. 7 Od končin nebes východ jeho, a obcházení jeho až zase do končin jejich, a ničeho není, což by se ukryti mohlo před horkostí jeho. 8 Zákon Hospodinův jest dokonalý, očerstvující duši, Hospodinovo svědectví pravé, moudrost dávající neumělým. 9 Rozkazové Hospodinovi přímí, obveselující srdce, přikázaní Hospodinovo čisté, osvěcující oči. 10 Bázeň Hospodinova čistá, zůstávající na věky, soudové Hospodinovi praví, a k tomu i spravedliví. 11 Mnohem žádostivější jsou než zlato, a než mnoho ryzího zlata, sladší než med a stred z plástů. 12 Služebník tvůj zajisté jimi osvěcován bývá, a kdož jich ostříhá, užitek hojný má. 13 Ale poblouzením kdo vyrozumí? Protož i od tajných očisť mne. 14 I od zúmyslných zdržuj služebníka svého, aby nade mnou nepanovali, a tehdyť dokonalý budu, a očištěný od přestoupení velikého. 15 Ó ať jsou slova úst mých tobě příjemná, i přemyšlování srdce mého před tebou, Hospodine skálo má, a vykupiteli můj.
