Salmos 138

De Davi.

1 Eu te louvarei, Senhor, de todo o coração;

diante dos deuses cantarei louvores a ti.

2 Voltado para o teu santo templo eu me prostrarei

e darei graças ao teu nome

por causa do teu amor leal e da tua fidelidade;

pois exaltaste acima de todas as coisas

o teu nome e a tua palavra.

3 Quando clamei, tu me respondeste;

deste-me força e coragem.

4 Todos os reis da terra te darão graças, Senhor,

ao ouvirem as palavras da tua boca.

5 Cantarão os caminhos do Senhor,

pois grande é a glória do Senhor!

6 Embora esteja nas alturas, o Senhor olha para os humildes;

já os arrogantes, ele os reconhece de longe.

7 Ainda que eu passe por angústias,

tu me preservas a vida.

Estendes a mão contra a ira dos meus inimigos

e me livras com a tua mão direita.

8 O Senhor me vingará!*138.8 Ou O Senhor cumprirá o seu propósito para comigo.

O teu amor leal, Senhor, permanece para sempre;

não abandones as obras das tuas mãos!

A Psalm of David.

1 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
