Salmo de Davi. Uma petição.
1 Senhor, não me repreendas no teu furor
nem me disciplines na tua ira.
2 Pois as tuas flechas me atravessaram,
e a tua mão me atingiu.
3 Por causa da tua ira, não há parte sã no meu corpo;
não há saúde nos meus ossos por causa do meu pecado.
4 As minhas culpas me afogam;
são como um fardo pesado e insuportável para mim.
5 As minhas feridas cheiram mal e supuram
por causa da minha insensatez.
6 Estou encurvado e muitíssimo abatido;
o dia todo saio vagueando e pranteando.
7 As minhas costas ardem de febre;
não há parte sã no meu corpo.
8 Sinto-me muito fraco e totalmente esmagado;
o meu coração geme de angústia.
9 Senhor, diante de ti estão todos os meus anseios;
o meu suspiro não te é oculto.
10 O meu coração palpita, as forças me faltam;
até a luz dos meus olhos se foi.
11 Os meus amigos e companheiros me evitam
por causa da doença que me aflige;
os meus vizinhos ficam longe de mim.
12 Os que desejam matar-me preparam armadilhas;
os que querem me prejudicar anunciam a minha ruína
e passam o dia planejando traição.
13 Eu, porém, como um surdo, não ouço;
como um mudo, não abro a boca.
14 Fiz-me como quem não ouve,
em cuja boca não há resposta.
15 Senhor, em ti espero;
tu me responderás, ó Senhor, meu Deus!
16 Pois eu disse: "Não permitas que eles se divirtam à minha custa
nem triunfem sobre mim quando eu tropeçar".
17 Estou a ponto de cair,
e a minha dor está sempre comigo.
18 Confesso a minha culpa;
estou em angústia por causa do meu pecado.
19 Os meus inimigos, porém, são muitos e poderosos;
é grande o número dos que me odeiam sem motivo.
20 Os que me retribuem o bem com o mal
acusam-me, apesar do bem que procuro.
21 Senhor, não me abandones!
Não fiques longe de mim, ó meu Deus!
22 Apressa-te a ajudar-me,
Senhor, meu Salvador!
A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.
1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.38.3 rest: Heb. peace, or, health
4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.38.6 troubled: Heb. wried
7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.38.10 is gone…: Heb. is not with me

12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
