Salmo de Davi. Cântico para a dedicação do templo.#30.0 Título: ou do palácio. Hebraico: casa.

1 Eu te exaltarei, Senhor, pois tu me reergueste

e não deixaste que os meus inimigos se divertissem à minha custa.

2 Senhor, meu Deus, a ti clamei por socorro,

e tu me curaste.

3 Tiraste-me, Senhor, da sepultura;*30.3 Hebraico: Sheol. Essa palavra também pode ser traduzida por profundezas ou morte.

prestes a descer à cova, devolveste-me à vida.

4 Cantem louvores ao Senhor, vocês que são os seus fiéis;

louvem o seu santo nome.*30.4 Ou a memória da sua santidade.

5 Porque a sua ira dura apenas um instante,

mas o seu favor dura a vida toda;

o choro pode persistir uma noite,

mas de manhã irrompe a alegria.

6 Quando me senti seguro, disse:

"Jamais serei abalado!".

7 Senhor, com o teu favor,

firmaste a minha montanha;*30.7 Isto é, o monte Sião.

quando, porém, escondeste a tua face,

fiquei aterrorizado.

8 A ti, Senhor, clamei,

ao Senhor pedi misericórdia:

9 "Se eu morrer,*30.9 Hebraico: No meu sangue. se eu descer à cova,

que vantagem haverá?

Acaso o pó te louvará?

Proclamará a tua fidelidade?

10 Ouve, Senhor, e tem misericórdia de mim;

Senhor, sê tu o meu auxílio".

11 Mudaste o meu pranto em dança,

tiraste a minha veste de lamento e me vestiste de alegria,

12 para que o meu ser cante louvores a ti e não se cale.

Ó Senhor, meu Deus, eu te darei graças para sempre.

1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.*30.12 my glory: that is, my tongue, or, my soul
