Salmos 82

Para o mestre de música. Salmo de Asafe.

1 É Deus quem preside a assembleia divina;

no meio dos deuses, ele é o juiz.

2 "Até quando vocês vão absolver os culpados

e favorecer os ímpios? Pausa

3 Garantam justiça para os fracos e para os órfãos;

mantenham o direito dos necessitados e dos oprimidos.

4 Livrem os fracos e os pobres;

libertem-nos das mãos dos ímpios.

5 "Eles nada sabem, nada entendem.

Vagueiam pelas trevas;

todos os fundamentos da terra estão abalados.

6 "Eu disse: ‘Vocês são deuses,

todos vocês são filhos do Altíssimo’.

7 Mas vocês morrerão como simples homens;

cairão como qualquer outro governante."

8 Levanta-te, ó Deus, julga a terra,

pois todas as nações te pertencem.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.*82.3 Defend: Heb. Judge

4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.*82.5 out…: Heb. moved

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
