1 "Fiz-me acessível aos que não perguntavam por mim; fui achado pelos que não me procuravam. A uma nação que não clamava pelo meu nome eu disse: Eis-me aqui, eis-me aqui.2 O tempo todo estendi as mãos a um povo obstinado, que anda por um caminho que não é bom, seguindo as suas inclinações;3 esse povo que sem cessar me provoca na minha frente, oferecendo sacrifícios em jardins e queimando incenso em altares de tijolos;4 povo que vive nos túmulos e à noite se oculta nas covas, que come carne de porco, e em suas panelas tem sopa de carne impura;5 esse povo diz: ‘Afasta-te! Não te aproximes de mim, pois eu sou santo! ’ Essa gente é fumaça no meu nariz! É fogo que queima o tempo todo!6 "Vejam, porém! Escrito está diante de mim: Não ficarei calado, mas darei plena retribuição; eu lhes darei total retribuição,7 tanto por seus pecados como pelos pecados dos seus antepassados", diz o Senhor. "Uma vez que eles queimaram incenso nos montes e me desafiaram nas colinas, eu os farei pagar pelos seus feitos anteriores. "8 Assim diz o Senhor: "Quando ainda se acha suco num cacho de uvas, os homens dizem: ‘Não o destruam, pois ainda há algo bom’; assim farei em favor dos meus servos; não os destruirei totalmente.9 Farei surgir descendentes de Jacó, e de Judá quem recebe por herança as minhas montanhas. Os meus escolhidos as herdarão, e ali viverão os meus servos.10 Para o meu povo que me buscou, Sarom será um pasto para os rebanhos, e o vale de Acor um lugar de descanso para o gado.11 "Mas vocês, que abandonam o Senhor e esquecem o meu santo monte, que põem a mesa para a deusa Sorte e enchem taças de vinho para o deus Destino,12 eu os destinarei à espada, e todos vocês se dobrarão para a degola. Pois eu os chamei, e vocês nem responderam, falei, e não me deram ouvidos. Vocês fizeram o mal diante de mim e escolheram o que me desagrada".13 Portanto, assim diz o Soberano Senhor: "Os meus servos comerão, e vocês passarão fome; os meus servos beberão, e vocês passarão sede; os meus servos se regozijarão, e vocês passarão vergonha;14 os meus servos cantarão com alegria no coração, e vocês se lamentarão com angústia no coração e uivarão pelo quebrantamento de espírito.15 Vocês deixarão seu nome como uma maldição para os meus escolhidos; o Soberano Senhor dará cabo de vocês, mas aos seus servos dará outro nome.16 Quem pedir bênção para si na terra, que o faça pelo Deus da verdade; quem fizer juramento na terra, que o faça pelo Deus da verdade. Porquanto as aflições passadas serão esquecidas e estarão ocultas aos meus olhos.17 "Pois vejam! Criarei novos céus e nova terra, e as coisas passadas não serão lembradas. Jamais virão à mente!18 Alegrem-se, porém, e regozijem-se para sempre no que vou criar, porque vou criar Jerusalém para regozijo, e seu povo para alegria.19 Por Jerusalém me regozijarei e em meu povo terei prazer; nunca mais se ouvirão nela voz de pranto e choro de tristeza.20 "Nunca mais haverá nela uma criança que viva poucos dias, e um idoso que não complete os seus anos de idade; quem morrer aos cem anos ainda será jovem, e quem não chegar aos cem será maldito.21 Construirão casas e nelas habitarão; plantarão vinhas e comerão do seu fruto.22 Já não construirão casas para outros ocuparem, nem plantarão para outros comerem. Pois o meu povo terá vida longa como as árvores; os meus escolhidos esbanjarão o fruto do seu trabalho.23 Não labutarão inutilmente, nem gerarão filhos para a infelicidade; pois serão um povo abençoado pelo Senhor, eles e os seus descendentes.24 Antes de clamarem, eu responderei; ainda não estarão falando, e eu os ouvirei.25 O lobo e o cordeiro comerão juntos, e o leão comerá feno, como o boi, mas o pó será a comida da serpente. Não farão nem mal nem destruição em todo o meu santo monte", diz o Senhor.

1 I am inquired of by those who didn't ask [for me]; I am found of those who didn't seek me: I said, Look at me, look at me, to a nation that did not call on my name.2 I have spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;3 a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense on bricks;4 that sit among the graves, and lodge in the secret places; that eat swine's flesh, and broth of contaminated things is in their vessels;5 that say, Stand by yourself, don't come near to me, for I am holier than you. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.6 Look, it is written before me: I will not keep silent, but will recompense, yes, I will recompense into their bosom,7 your{+} own iniquities, and the iniquities of your{+} fathers together, says Yahweh, that have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills; therefore I will first measure their work into their bosom.8 Thus says Yahweh, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Don't destroy it, for a blessing is in it: so I will do for my slaves' sake, that I may not destroy them all.9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains; and my chosen will inherit it, and my slaves will stay there.10 And Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for my people who have sought me.11 But you{+} who forsake Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for Fortune, and who fill up mingled wine to Destiny;12 I will destine you{+} to the sword, and you{+} will all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you{+} did not answer; when I spoke, you{+} did not hear; but you{+} did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight.13 Therefore thus says the Sovereign Yahweh, Look, my slaves will eat, but you{+} will be hungry; look, my slaves will drink, but you{+} will be thirsty; look, my slaves will rejoice, but you{+} will be put to shame;14 look, my slaves will sing for joy of heart, but you{+} will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for vexation of spirit.15 And you{+} will leave your{+} name for a curse to my chosen; and the Sovereign Yahweh will slay you; and he will call his slaves by another name:16 so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from my eyes.17 For, look, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.18 But be{+} glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, look, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; and there will be heard in her no more the voice of weeping and the voice of crying.20 There will be no more from there an infant of days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old will be accursed.21 And they will build houses, and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.22 They will not build, and another inhabit; they will not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree will be the days of my people, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands.23 They will not labor in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the seed of the blessed of Yahweh, and their offspring with them.24 And it will come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.25 The wolf and the lamb will be shepherded together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent's food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says Yahweh.
