1 Por amor de Sião eu não sossegarei, por amor de Jerusalém não descansarei enquanto a sua justiça não resplandecer como a alvorada, e a sua salvação, como as chamas de uma tocha.2 As nações verão a sua justiça, e todos os reis, a sua glória; você será chamada por um novo nome que a boca do Senhor lhe dará.3 Será uma esplêndida coroa na mão do Senhor, um diadema real na mão do seu Deus.4 Não mais a chamarão abandonada, nem desamparada à sua terra. Você, porém, será chamada Hefizibá, e a sua terra, Beulá, pois o Senhor terá prazer em você, e a sua terra estará casada.5 Assim como um jovem se casa com sua noiva, os seus filhos se casarão com você; assim como o noivo se regozija por sua noiva, assim o seu Deus se regozija por você.6 Coloquei sentinelas em seus muros, ó Jerusalém; jamais descansarão, dia e noite. Vocês que clamam pelo Senhor, não se entreguem ao repouso,7 e não lhe concedam descanso até que ele estabeleça Jerusalém e faça dela o louvor da terra.8 O Senhor jurou por sua mão direita e por seu braço poderoso: "Nunca mais darei o seu trigo como alimento para os seus inimigos, e nunca mais estrangeiros beberão o vinho novo pelo qual se afadigaram;9 mas aqueles que colherem o trigo, dele comerão e louvarão o Senhor, e aqueles que recolherem as uvas delas beberão nos pátios do meu santuário".10 Passem, passem pelas portas! Preparem o caminho para o povo. Construam, construam a estrada! Removam as pedras. Ergam uma bandeira para as nações.11 O Senhor proclamou aos confins da terra: "Digam à cidade de Sião: Veja! O seu Salvador vem! Veja! Ele traz a sua recompensa e o seu galardão o acompanha".12 Eles serão chamados povo santo, redimidos do Senhor; e você será chamada procurada, cidade não abandonada.

1 For Zion's sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns.2 And the nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory, and you will be called by a new name, which the mouth of Yahweh will name.3 You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Yahweh, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.4 You will no more be termed Forsaken; neither will your land anymore be termed Desolate: but you will be called Hephzi-bah, and your land Beulah; for Yahweh delights in you, and your land will be married.5 For as a young man takes possession of a virgin, so will your sons take possession of you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so will your God rejoice over you.6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never hold their peace day nor night: you{+} who are Yahweh's remembrancers, take{+} no rest,7 and give him no rest, until he establishes, and until he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.8 Yahweh has sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give your grain to be food for your enemies; and foreigners will not drink your new wine, for which you have labored:9 but those who have garnered it will eat it, and praise Yahweh; and those who have gathered it will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare{+} the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up an ensign for the peoples.11 Look, Yahweh has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say{+} to the daughter of Zion, Look, your salvation comes; look, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.12 And they will call them The holy people, The redeemed of Yahweh: and you will be called Sought out, A city not forsaken.
