Provérbios 27

1 Não te glories do dia de amanhã,

porque *Lc 12.19-20;Tg 4.14não sabes o que um dia pode dar à luz.

2 *Pv 25.27;2Co 10.12,18;12.11Seja outro o que te louve, e não a tua boca;

seja um estrangeiro, e não os teus lábios.

3 A pedra é pesada, e a areia é carregada;

mas a *Pv 12.16cólera de um insensato é mais pesada do que ambas elas.

4 Cruel é o furor, e impetuosa é a ira;

mas quem pode resistir a *Pv 6.34inveja?

5 Melhor é *Pv 28.23;Gl 2.14a repreensão aberta

do que o amor escondido.

6 Fiéis são *Pv 20.30;Sl 141.5as feridas dum amigo,

mas os *Mt 26.49beijos dum inimigo são enganadores.

mas para o faminto todo amargo é doce.

O mesmo fazem os doces conselhos dum amigo afetuoso.

e não entres na casa de teu irmão no dia da tua calamidade.

Mais vale um *Pv 17.17;18.24vizinho que está perto do que um irmão que está longe.

11 Filho meu, *Pv 10.1;23.15;29.3sê sábio e alegra ao meu coração,

para que eu *Sl 119.42responda àquele que me vitupera.

12 *Pv 22.3O homem prudente vê o mal e esconde-se;

mas os simples passam adiante e recebem dano.

13 *Pv 20.16Deve-se tirar o vestido àquele que é fiador por outro

e tomar como penhor quem se obriga por uma mulher estranha.

14 Quem bendiz ao seu amigo em alta voz, levantando-se de manhã cedo,

isso lhe será contado como maldição.

e a mulher contenciosa são semelhantes.

16 Aquele que quer retê-la retém o vento,

e a sua direita pega em óleo.

17 O ferro com o ferro se aguça,

contudo, dele não se apartará a sua estultícia.

atende bem aos teus gados,

25 O feno é removido, aparece a erva verde,

26 Os cordeiros são para te vestires,

e os cabritos, para o preço do campo.

27 Bastará o leite das cabras para o teu alimento, para o alimento da tua casa

e para o sustento das tuas escravas.

9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.*27.9 by…: Heb. from the counsel of the soul 10 Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. 11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. 12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. 13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. 14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. 16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself. 17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. 18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. 19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man. 20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.*27.20 never: Heb. not 21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise. 22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
