Exortação ao arrependimento e promessa de perdão

1 *Os 6.1;10.12;12.6Volta, ó Israel, para Jeová, teu Deus, pois caíste pela tua *Os 4.8;5.5;9.7iniquidade. 2 Tomai convosco palavras e voltai para Jeová; dizei-lhe: *Mq 7.18-19Tira toda a iniquidade e aceita o que é bom; assim, *Os 6.6;Sl 51.16-17ofereceremos como novilhos as ofertas dos nossos lábios. 3 *Os 5.13Assur não nos salvará; *Is 31.1não montaremos em cavalos, nem diremos mais *Os 8.6;13.2à obra das nossas mãos: *Os 4.12Vós sois nossos deuses, porque em *Sl 68.5ti o órfão acha a misericórdia.

4 *Os 6.1;Is 57.18Curarei a sua apostasia, *Sf 3.17amá-los-ei voluntariamente, porque a minha ira *Is 12.1está apartada deles. 5 Serei para Israel como o *Is 26.19orvalho; ele brotará como *Ct 2.1;Mt 6.28o lírio e lançará as suas raízes como o *Is 35.2Líbano. 6 Estender-se-ão os seus ramos, e a sua formosura será como a *Jr 11.16oliveira, e o seu cheiro, como o *Ct 4.11Líbano. 7 Os *Ez 17.23que habitam debaixo da sua sombra voltarão; reverdecerão como *Os 2.21-22trigo e brotarão como a vide; e o seu cheiro será como o vinho do Líbano. 8 Efraim dirá: Que tenho eu mais com *Os 14.3;Jó 34.32os ídolos? Eu tenho respondido e atentarei para ele; eu sou como *Is 41.19cipreste verde; *Ez 17.23de mim acha-se o teu fruto.

9 *Sl 107.43;Jr 9.12Quem é sábio e entenderá essas coisas? Prudente e as conhecerá? Porque *Sl 111.7-8;Sf 3.5os caminhos de Jeová são direitos, *Is 26.7e os justos andarão neles; mas *Is 1.28os transgressores cairão neles.

1 Israel, return to Yahweh your God;

for you have fallen because of your sin.

2 Take words with you, and return to Yahweh.

Tell him, "Forgive all our sins,

and accept that which is good;

so we offer bulls as we vowed of our lips.

3 Assyria can’t save us.

We won’t ride on horses;

neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’

for in you the fatherless finds mercy."

4 "I will heal their waywardness.

I will love them freely;

for my anger is turned away from them.

5 I will be like the dew to Israel.

He will blossom like the lily,

and send down his roots like Lebanon.

6 His branches will spread,

and his beauty will be like the olive tree,

and his fragrance like Lebanon.

7 Men will dwell in his shade.

They will revive like the grain,

and blossom like the vine.

Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols?

I answer, and will take care of him.

I am like a green cypress tree;

from me your fruit is found."

9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things?

Who is prudent, that he may know them?

For the ways of Yahweh are right,

and the righteous walk in them,

but the rebellious stumble in them.
