A excelência e justiça dos preceitos da Sabedoria

1 Não clama, porventura, *Pv 8.1-3;1.20-21a Sabedoria,

e não eleva o Entendimento a sua voz?

2 No cume *Pv 9.3,14das alturas, junto ao caminho,

nas encruzilhadas, ela se coloca;

3 junto às *Jó 29.7portas, à entrada da cidade,

à entrada das portas ela grita:

4 A vós, ó homens, clamo.

E a minha voz dirige-se aos filhos dos homens.

5 Entendei, *Pv 1.4ó estúpidos, a prudência;

entendei, *Pv 1.22,32;3.35, etc.ó loucos, a sabedoria.

6 Ouvi, pois falarei *Pv 22.20coisas excelentes;

e proferirão os meus lábios *Pv 23.16coisas retas.

7 *Sl 37.30A minha boca pronunciará a verdade,

e os meus lábios abominam a perversidade.

8 Justas são todas as palavras da minha boca;

nelas, não há coisa *Pv 2.15;Dt 32.5;Fp 2.15torta ou perversa.

9 Todas elas são *Pv 14.6claras para os que entendem

e retas para os que *Pv 3.13acham o conhecimento.

10 Recebei a *Pv 8.19;3.14-15minha instrução e não a prata;

e o conhecimento, antes do que o ouro escolhido.

11 Pois a sabedoria é *Jó 28.18melhor do que os corais;

e *Pv 3.15tudo o que se pode desejar não é para ser comparado com ela.

12 Eu, a Sabedoria, tenho a *Pv 8.5prudência por morada

e possuo o *Pv 1.4conhecimento e a discrição.

e os governadores decretam o que é justo.

16 Por meio de mim, governam os príncipes,

e os nobres, todos os juízes da terra.

17 Eu *Pv 4.6;1Sm 2.30;Jo 14.21amo os que me amam;

*Pv 2.4-5;Tg 1.5e os que me procuram diligentemente me acharão.

18 *Pv 3.16Riquezas e honra estão comigo,

19 *Pv 3.14Melhor é o meu fruto do que o ouro, do que o ouro fino;

e a minha renda, do que a *Pv 10.20prata escolhida.

20 Ando pelo caminho da justiça,

no meio das veredas do juízo,

21 para dotar de bens os que me amam

e *Pv 24.4encher os seus tesouros.

A Sabedoria existiu desde a eternidade

22 Jeová me possuiu *Pv 3.19;Jó 28.26-28;Sl 104.24no princípio dos seus caminhos,

antes das suas obras da antiguidade.

23 Desde a antiguidade, fui constituída, desde o princípio,

*Jo 17.5antes de existir a terra.

24 Quando ainda não havia *Pv 3.20;Gn 1.2;Êx 15.5;Jó 38.16abismos, fui dada à luz;

quando ainda não havia fontes cheias de água.

25 *Sl 90.2Antes de serem firmados os montes,

antes de haver outeiros, fui dada à luz.

26 Quando ele ainda não tinha feito a terra, nem os campos,

nem o princípio do pó do mundo.

27 *Pv 3.19Quando ele preparava os céus, lá estava eu;

*Jó 26.10quando traçava um círculo sobre a face do abismo,

28 quando estabelecia o firmamento lá em cima,

quando as fontes do abismo eram firmadas.

para que as águas não transgredissem o seu mando.

Quando lançava os *Jó 38.6;Sl 104.5alicerces da terra,

30 então, *Jo 1.2-3estava eu ao seu lado como arquiteto

e enchia-me de gozo dia após dia,

regozijando-me sempre diante dele;

31 regozijando-me na sua terra habitável

e achando as minhas delícias com os filhos dos homens.

32 Agora, pois, filhos, *Pv 5.7;7.24ouvi-me;

pois *Pv 29.18;Sl 119.1-2;128.1;Lc 11.28felizes são os que observam os meus caminhos.

33 *Pv 4.1Ouvi a instrução, e sede sábios,

e não a rejeiteis.

34 *Pv 3.13,18Feliz é o homem que me ouve,

velando todos os dias às minhas entradas,

esperando junto às ombreiras das minhas portas;

35 pois *Pv 4.22;Jo 17.3quem me achar achará a vida

e *Pv 3.4;12.2alcançará o favor de Jeová.

36 Aquele, porém, que pecar contra mim *Pv 1.31-32;15.32faz o mal à sua própria alma.

Todos os que me *Pv 5.12;12.1odeiam *Pv 21.6amam a morte.

1 Doesn’t wisdom cry out?

Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?

2 On the top of high places by the way,

where the paths meet, she stands.

3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city,

at the entry doors, she cries aloud:

4 "I call to you men!

I send my voice to the sons of mankind.

5 You simple, understand prudence!

You fools, be of an understanding heart!

6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things.

The opening of my lips is for right things.

7 For my mouth speaks truth.

Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness.

There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.

9 They are all plain to him who understands,

right to those who find knowledge.

10 Receive my instruction rather than silver,

knowledge rather than choice gold.

11 For wisdom is better than rubies.

All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

12 "I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling.

Find out knowledge and discretion.

13 The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil.

I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

14 Counsel and sound knowledge are mine.

I have understanding and power.

15 By me kings reign,

and princes decree justice.

16 By me princes rule,

nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.

17 I love those who love me.

Those who seek me diligently will find me.

18 With me are riches, honor,

enduring wealth, and prosperity.

19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold,

my yield than choice silver.

20 I walk in the way of righteousness,

in the middle of the paths of justice,

21 that I may give wealth to those who love me.

I fill their treasuries.

22 "Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work,

before his deeds of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning,

before the earth existed.

24 When there were no depths, I was born,

when there were no springs abounding with water.

25 Before the mountains were settled in place,

before the hills, I was born;

26 while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields,

nor the beginning of the dust of the world.

27 When he established the heavens, I was there.

When he set a circle on the surface of the deep,

28 when he established the clouds above,

when the springs of the deep became strong,

29 when he gave to the sea its boundary,

that the waters should not violate his commandment,

when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

30 then I was the craftsman by his side.

I was a delight day by day,

always rejoicing before him,

31 rejoicing in his whole world.

My delight was with the sons of men.

32 "Now therefore, my sons, listen to me,

for blessed are those who keep my ways.

33 Hear instruction, and be wise.

Don’t refuse it.

34 Blessed is the man who hears me,

watching daily at my gates,

waiting at my door posts.

35 For whoever finds me finds life,

and will obtain favor from Yahweh.

36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul.

All those who hate me love death."
