Provérbios 6

Advertência contra o servir de fiador, contra a preguiça e contra a maldade

1 Filho meu, se tiveres ficado *Pv 11.15;17.18;20.16;22.26;27.13por fiador do teu próximo,

se tiveres dado um penhor por outro,

2 estás enredado pelas palavras da tua boca,

estás preso pelas palavras da tua boca.

3 Faze isso, pois, filho meu, e livra-te,

visto que caíste no poder do teu próximo;

vai, humilha-te e importuna ao teu próximo.

4 Não dês *Sl 132.4sono aos teus olhos,

nem adormecimento às tuas pálpebras.

5 Livra-te como gazela da mão do caçador

e, como *Sl 91.3;124.7pássaro, da mão do passarinheiro.

6 Vai ter com a *Pv 30.24-25formiga, ó *Pv 6.9;10.26;13.4;20.4;26.16preguiçoso,

considera os seus caminhos e sê sábio.

7 Ela, *Pv 30.27não tendo chefe,

nem superintendente, nem governador,

8 faz a provisão do seu mantimento *Pv 10.5no estio

e ajunta, no tempo da ceifa, o seu alimento.

9 Até quando, ó preguiçoso, ficarás deitado?

Quando te levantarás do teu sono?

10 *Pv 24.33-34Um pouco para dormir, um pouco para toscanejar,

um pouco para cruzar os braços em repouso.

11 Assim, virá a tua *Pv 10.4;12.24;13.4;19.15;20.4;23.21pobreza como um salteador,

e a tua indigência, como um homem armado.

anda com a *Pv 4.24;10.32perversidade na boca;

e acena com os dedos.

15 Portanto, *Pv 24.22virá de repente a sua calamidade;

16 Há seis coisas que Jeová aborrece,

sim, há sete que a sua alma abomina:

e mãos que *Pv 28.17;Dt 19.10;Is 1.15;59.7derramam sangue inocente;

18 coração que maquina *Pv 24.2;Gn 6.5projetos iníquos,

*Pv 1.16pés que se apressam a correr para o mal;

19 *Pv 12.17;19.5,9;21.28;Sl 27.12testemunha falsa que profere mentiras,

e o que *Pv 6.14semeia discórdia entre seus irmãos.

O mancebo é advertido contra a mulher adúltera

20 Filho meu, *Pv 7.1guarda os mandamentos de teu pai

*Pv 1.8e não abandones a instrução de tua mãe.

21 *Pv 3.3Ata-os perpetuamente ao teu coração,

pendura-os à roda do teu pescoço.

22 Quando *Pv 3.23andares, ela te guiará;

quando te *Pv 3.24deitares, te guardará;

e, quando acordares, ela falará contigo.

23 Pois o *Sl 119.105mandamento é uma lâmpada, e a lei, uma luz;

e as *Pv 10.17repreensões da instrução são o caminho da vida

24 *Pv 7.5para te guardarem da má mulher

25 *Mt 5.28Não cobices no teu coração a sua formosura

26 Pois, *Pv 5.9-10;29.3por causa duma mulher prostituída, o homem é reduzido a um bocado de pão;

e a que é adúltera *Pv 7.23;Ez 13.18caça a vida preciosa.

27 Poderá o homem tomar fogo no seu seio,

sem que ardam os seus vestidos?

28 Ou poderá andar por cima de brasas vivas,

sem que se queimem os pés?

29 Assim será com aquele que *Ez 18.6;33.26se chega à mulher do seu próximo;

*Pv 16.5não ficará sem castigo quem a tocar.

30 O ladrão não é desprezado, se furtar

*Jó 38.39para matar a fome, quando estiver faminto;

31 porém, se for colhido, *Êx 22.1-4pagará sete vezes tanto;

entregará todos os bens de sua casa.

32 Quem comete adultério é *Pv 7.7;9.4,16;10.13,21;11.12;12.11, etc.falto de entendimento;

*Pv 7.22-23destrói-se a si mesmo quem assim procede.

33 Ele receberá feridas e ignomínia,

e o seu opróbrio não se apagará;

34 porque *Pv 27.4;Ct 8.6o ciúme enfurece o homem;

e não poupará no *Pv 11.4;Lv 20.10dia da vingança.

35 Não aceitará resgate algum,

nem se contentará, ainda que dês muitos presentes.

1 My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor,

if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger,

2 you are trapped by the words of your mouth;

you are ensnared with the words of your mouth.

3 Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself,

since you have come into the hand of your neighbor.

Go, humble yourself.

Press your plea with your neighbor.

4 Give no sleep to your eyes,

nor slumber to your eyelids.

5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,

like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard.

Consider her ways, and be wise;

7 which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,

8 provides her bread in the summer,

and gathers her food in the harvest.

9 How long will you sleep, sluggard?

When will you arise out of your sleep?

10 A little sleep, a little slumber,

a little folding of the hands to sleep—

11 so your poverty will come as a robber,

and your scarcity as an armed man.

12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity,

is he who walks with a perverse mouth,

13 who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,

who motions with his fingers,

14 in whose heart is perverseness,

who devises evil continually,

who always sows discord.

15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly.

He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.

16 There are six things which Yahweh hates;

yes, seven which are an abomination to him:

17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are swift in running to mischief,

19 a false witness who utters lies,

and he who sows discord among brothers.

20 My son, keep your father’s commandment,

and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching.

21 Bind them continually on your heart.

Tie them around your neck.

22 When you walk, it will lead you.

When you sleep, it will watch over you.

When you awake, it will talk with you.

23 For the commandment is a lamp,

and the law is light.

Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

24 to keep you from the immoral woman,

from the flattery of the wayward wife’s tongue.

25 Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart,

neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.

26 For a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread.

The adulteress hunts for your precious life.

27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap,

and his clothes not be burned?

28 Or can one walk on hot coals,

and his feet not be scorched?

29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife.

Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.

30 Men don’t despise a thief

if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry,

31 but if he is found, he shall restore seven times.

He shall give all the wealth of his house.

32 He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding.

He who does it destroys his own soul.

33 He will get wounds and dishonor.

His reproach will not be wiped away.

34 For jealousy arouses the fury of the husband.

He won’t spare in the day of vengeance.

35 He won’t regard any ransom,

neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
