A loucura de ceder às astúcias da prostituta

1 Filho meu, *Pv 2.1;6.20observa as minhas palavras

e entesoura em ti os meus mandamentos.

2 *Pv 4.4Observa os meus mandamentos, e vive,

e guarda a minha lei como *Dt 32.10;Sl 17.8;Zc 2.8a menina dos teus olhos;

3 ata-os aos teus dedos

*Pv 3.3e escreve-os na tábua do teu coração.

4 Dize à sabedoria: Tu és minha irmã;

e chama ao entendimento a tua parenta,

5 para te *Pv 6.24guardarem da *Pv 5.3mulher estranha,

*Pv 5.20da estrangeira que *Pv 6.24lisonjeia com as suas palavras.

6 Pois, estando eu *Jz 5.28à janela da minha casa,

espiei *Ct 2.9pelas minhas grades;

7 vi entre *Pv 1.22os simples,

discerni entre os moços

um mancebo *Pv 6.32falto de entendimento,

8 que passava pelas ruas junto *Pv 7.12à esquina da estrangeira,

seguindo o caminho *Pv 7.27da casa dela,

9 *Jó 24.15no crepúsculo, à tarde do dia,

à noite fechada e na escuridão.

10 Eis que lhe saía ao encontro uma mulher

*Gn 38.14-15ornada à moda das prostitutas e astuta de coração.

11 Ela é *Pv 9.13turbulenta e obstinada;

os seus pés não param em casa.

12 Ora está nas ruas, ora, *Pv 9.14nas praças

*Pv 23.28e põe-se de emboscada a cada esquina.

13 Assim, pegou dele, e o beijou,

e, com *Pv 21.29uma cara sem vergonha, lhe disse:

14 Sacrifícios de *Lv 7.11ofertas pacíficas estão comigo;

hoje, *Lv 7.16paguei os meus votos.

15 Por isso, saí para me encontrar contigo,

para te procurar, e te achei.

16 Cobri a minha cama com *Pv 31.22cobertas,

com colchas *Is 19.9;Ez 27.7de linho do Egito, de várias cores.

17 Perfumei o meu leito

com *Sl 45.8mirra, aloés e *Êx 30.23cinamomo.

18 Vem, embriaguemo-nos de amor, até que amanheça o dia;

alegremo-nos com amores.

19 Pois meu marido não está em casa,

foi fazer uma viagem dilatada.

20 Levou consigo um *Gn 42.35saquitel de dinheiro;

lá para o dia da lua cheia voltará para casa.

21 Ela fê-lo ceder com o seu muito falar;

com *Pv 5.3;6.24a lisonja dos seus lábios o arrasta.

22 Ele a segue logo,

como o boi que vai ao matadouro

ou como louco agrilhoado para a correção,

23 até que uma seta lhe traspasse o fígado,

como o *Ec 9.12pássaro se apressa para o laço,

sem saber que está armado contra a sua vida.

24 Agora, pois, filhos, *Pv 5.7escutai-me;

e atendei às palavras da minha boca.

25 *Pv 5.8Não se desvie para os seus caminhos o teu coração,

não andes perdido pelas suas veredas.

26 Pois ela a muitos tem feito cair feridos;

e muitíssimos são os que têm sido *Pv 9.18mortos por ela.

27 *Pv 2.18;5.5;9.18A sua casa é o caminho do Sheol,

que desce às câmaras da morte.

1 My son, keep my words.

Lay up my commandments within you.

2 Keep my commandments and live!

Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.

3 Bind them on your fingers.

Write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Tell wisdom, "You are my sister."

Call understanding your relative,

5 that they may keep you from the strange woman,

from the foreigner who flatters with her words.

6 For at the window of my house,

I looked out through my lattice.

7 I saw among the simple ones.

I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,

8 passing through the street near her corner,

he went the way to her house,

9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day,

in the middle of the night and in the darkness.

10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute,

and with crafty intent.

11 She is loud and defiant.

Her feet don’t stay in her house.

12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares,

and lurking at every corner.

13 So she caught him, and kissed him.

With an impudent face she said to him:

14 "Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me.

Today I have paid my vows.

15 Therefore I came out to meet you,

to diligently seek your face,

and I have found you.

16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry,

with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let’s take our fill of loving until the morning.

Let’s solace ourselves with loving.

19 For my husband isn’t at home.

He has gone on a long journey.

20 He has taken a bag of money with him.

He will come home at the full moon."

21 With persuasive words, she led him astray.

With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.

22 He followed her immediately,

as an ox goes to the slaughter,

as a fool stepping into a noose.

23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver,

as a bird hurries to the snare,

and doesn’t know that it will cost his life.

24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me.

Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

25 Don’t let your heart turn to her ways.

Don’t go astray in her paths,

26 for she has thrown down many wounded.

Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.

27 Her house is the way to Sheol,*7:27 Sheol is the place of the dead.
