João 20

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!"

3 Therefore Peter and the other disciple went out, and they went toward the tomb. 4 They both ran together. The other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5 Stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he didn’t enter in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying, 7 and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb, 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"

She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him." 14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?"

She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."

16 Jesus said to her, "Mary."

She turned and said to him, "Rabboni!"*20:16 Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for "great teacher." which is to say, "Teacher!"*20:16 or, Master

17 Jesus said to her, "Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’"

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her. 19 When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle and said to them, "Peace be to you."

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus therefore said to them again, "Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you." 22 When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit! 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained."

24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus,*20:24 or, Twin wasn’t with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord!"

But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."

26 After eight days, again his disciples were inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, "Peace be to you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing."

28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen me,*20:29 TR adds "Thomas," you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

30 Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

Den tomma graven

1 *Matt 28:1f, Mark 16:1f, Luk 24:1f. Tidigt den första veckodagen*20:1första veckodagenefter sabbaten, alltså söndag., medan det ännu var mörkt, kom Maria Magdalena ut till graven och fick se att stenen var borta från graven. 2 Hon sprang därifrån och kom till Simon Petrus och den andre lärjungen, den som Jesus älskade, och sade till dem: "De har tagit bort Herren från graven, och vi vet inte var de har lagt honom!"

3 Då rusade Petrus och den andre lärjungen ut mot graven. 4 Båda sprang på samma gång, men den andre lärjungen sprang fortare än Petrus och kom först fram till graven. 5 Han lutade sig in och såg linnebindlarna ligga där, men han gick inte in. 6 Strax efter honom kom Simon Petrus. Han gick in i graven och såg också linnebindlarna ligga där, 7 och duken som hade täckt huvudet. Den låg inte tillsammans med bindlarna utan hopvikt på ett ställe för sig.

8 Då gick även den andre lärjungen in, han som hade kommit fram till graven först, och han såg och trodde. 9 Tidigare hade de nämligen inte förstått Skriftens ord att han måste uppstå från de döda. 10 Därefter gick lärjungarna hem igen.

Jesus visar sig för Maria Magdalena

11 Men Maria stod utanför graven och grät. När hon gråtande lutade sig in i graven, 12 fick hon se två änglar i vita kläder sitta där Jesu kropp hade legat, den ene vid huvudändan och den andre vid fotändan. 13 De frågade henne: "Kvinna, varför gråter du?" Hon svarade: "De har tagit min Herre, och jag vet inte var de har lagt honom."

14 När hon hade sagt det, vände hon sig om och såg Jesus stå där, men hon förstod inte att det var han. 15 Jesus frågade henne: "Kvinna, varför gråter du? Vem söker du?" Hon trodde att det var trädgårdsmästaren och sade till honom: "Herre, om det är du som har burit bort honom, så säg var du har lagt honom så att jag kan hämta honom."

16 Jesus sade till henne: "Maria." Då vände hon sig om och sade till honom på hebreiska: "Rabbuni!" – det betyder lärare. 17 *Rom 8:29, Hebr 2:11f. Jesus sade till henne: "Rör mig inte*20:17Rör mig inteAnnan översättning: "Håll inte kvar mig"., för jag har inte stigit upp till Fadern än. Men gå till mina bröder och säg till dem att jag stiger upp till min Far och er Far, till min Gud och er Gud." 18 Maria Magdalena gick då och berättade för lärjungarna att hon hade sett Herren och att han hade sagt detta till henne.

Jesus visar sig för sina lärjungar

19 *Luk 24:36f, 1 Kor 15:5. På kvällen samma dag, den första veckodagen, var lärjungarna samlade bakom låsta dörrar av rädsla för judarna. Då kom Jesus och stod mitt ibland dem och sade: "Frid vare med er!"*20:19Frid vare med er!Den vanliga hälsningen på hebreiska och arameiska (jfr Matt 10:13, 1 Sam 25:6).20 När han hade sagt detta visade han dem sina händer och sin sida. Och lärjungarna blev glada när de såg Herren.

21 *Joh 17:18. Jesus sade än en gång till dem: "Frid vare med er! Som Fadern har sänt mig sänder jag er." 22 Sedan han sagt detta, andades han på dem och sade: "Ta emot den helige Ande! 23 *Matt 16:19, 18:18. Om ni förlåter någon hans synder så är de förlåtna, och om ni binder någon i hans synder så är han bunden."

Den uppståndne och Tomas

24 Tomas, en av de tolv, han som kallades Tvillingen, hade inte varit med de andra när Jesus kom. 25 De andra lärjungarna sade nu till honom: "Vi har sett Herren!" Men han svarade dem: "Om jag inte får se spikhålen i hans händer och sticka mitt finger i spikhålen och min hand i hans sida, så kan jag inte tro."

26 Åtta dagar senare*20:26Åtta dagar senareTroligen den åttonde dagen, den nästföljande söndagen (jfr 11:17, 39). var hans lärjungar samlade igen där inne, och nu var Tomas med dem. Då kom Jesus, medan dörrarna var låsta, och stod mitt ibland dem och sade: "Frid vare med er!" 27 Sedan sade han till Tomas: "Kom med ditt finger och se mina händer, kom med din hand och stick den i min sida. Och tvivla inte, utan tro!" 28 Tomas svarade honom: "Min Herre och min Gud!" 29 *1 Petr 1:8. Jesus sade till honom: "Du tror därför att du har sett mig. Saliga är de som inte har sett men ändå tror."

30 *Joh 21:25. Många andra tecken som inte är nerskrivna i denna bok gjorde Jesus inför sina lärjungar. 31 *Joh 5:24, 1 Joh 5:13. Men dessa har blivit nerskrivna för att ni ska tro att Jesus är Messias, Guds Son, och för att ni genom tron ska ha liv i hans namn.
