1 Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us,

But unto thy name give glory,

For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth’s sake.

2 Wherefore should the nations say,

Where is now their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens:

He hath done whatsoever he pleased.

4 Their idols are silver and gold,

The work of men’s hands.

5 They have mouths, but they speak not;

Eyes have they, but they see not;

6 They have ears, but they hear not;

Noses have they, but they smell not;

7 They have hands, but they handle not;

Feet have they, but they walk not;

Neither speak they through their throat.

8 They that make them shall be like unto them;

Yea, every one that trusteth in them.

9 O Israel, trust thou in Jehovah:

He is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust ye in Jehovah:

He is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear Jehovah, trust in Jehovah:

He is their help and their shield.

12 Jehovah hath been mindful of us; he will bless us:

He will bless the house of Israel;

He will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear Jehovah,

Both small and great.

14 Jehovah increase you more and more,

You and your children.

15 Blessed are ye of Jehovah,

Who made heaven and earth.

16 The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah;

But the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not Jehovah,

Neither any that go down into silence;

18 But we will bless Jehovah

From this time forth and for evermore.

Praise ye Jehovah.

1 NON a noi, Signore, non a noi, Anzi al tuo Nome, da’ gloria, Per la tua benignità, e verità.

2 Perchè direbbero le genti: Dove è ora l’Iddio loro?

3 Or l’Iddio nostro è pur ne’ cieli E fa tutto ciò che gli piace.

4 Gl’idoli di quelle sono oro ed argento; Opera di mani d’uomini;

5 Hanno bocca, e non parlano; Hanno occhi, e non veggono;

6 Hanno orecchie, e non odono; Hanno naso, e non odorano;

7 Hanno mani, e non toccano; Hanno piedi, e non camminano; E non rendono alcun suono dalla lor gola.

8 Simili ad essi sieno quelli che li fanno; Chiunque si confida in essi

9 O Israele, confidati nel Signore; Egli è l’aiuto, e lo scudo di quelli che si confidano in lui.

10 O casa d’Aaronne, confidatevi, nel Signore; Egli è l’aiuto, e lo scudo di quelli che si confidano in lui.

11 O voi che temete il Signore, confidatevi in lui; Egli è l’aiuto, e lo scudo di quelli che si confidano in lui.

12 Il Signore si ricorda di noi; egli ci benedirà; Egli benedirà la casa d’Israele; Egli benedirà la casa d’Aaronne.

13 Egli benedirà quelli che lo temono, Piccoli e grandi.

14 Il Signore vi accrescerà le sue grazie, A voi, ed a’ vostri figliuoli.

15 Voi siete benedetti dal Signore Che ha fatto il cielo e la terra.

16 Quant’è al cielo, il cielo è per lo Signore; Ma egli ha data la terra a’ figliuoli degli uomini.

17 I morti non loderanno già il Signore, Nè alcun di quelli che scendono nel luogo del silenzio.

18 Ma noi benediremo il Signore, Da ora in eterno. Alleluia
