1 Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Io alzo gli occhi ai monti… Donde mi verrà l’aiuto?

2 Il mio aiuto vien dall’Eterno che ha fatto il cielo e la terra.

3 Egli non permetterà che il tuo piè vacilli; colui che ti protegge non sonnecchierà.

4 Ecco, colui che protegge Israele non sonnecchierà né dormirà.

5 L’Eterno è colui che ti protegge; l’Eterno è la tua ombra; egli sta alla tua destra.

6 Di giorno il sole non ti colpirà, né la luna di notte.

7 L’Eterno ti proteggerà da ogni male, egli proteggerà l’anima tua.

8 L’Eterno proteggerà il tuo uscire e il tuo entrare da ora in eterno.

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains:

From whence shall my help come?

2 My help cometh from Jehovah,

Who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:

He that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel

Will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 Jehovah is thy keeper:

Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day,

Nor the moon by night.

7 Jehovah will keep thee from all evil;

He will keep thy soul.

8 Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in

From this time forth and for evermore.
