1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

1 De David. Psaume. Je chanterai la bonté et la justice; C'est à toi, Eternel! que je chanterai.2 Je prendrai garde à la voie droite. Quand viendras-tu à moi? Je marcherai dans l'intégrité de mon coeur, Au milieu de ma maison.3 Je ne mettrai rien de mauvais devant mes yeux; Je hais la conduite des pécheurs; Elle ne s'attachera point à moi.4 Le coeur pervers s'éloignera de moi; Je ne veux pas connaître le méchant.5 Celui qui calomnie en secret son prochain, je l'anéantirai; Celui qui a des regards hautains et un coeur enflé, je ne le supporterai pas.6 J'aurai les yeux sur les fidèles du pays, Pour qu'ils demeurent auprès de moi; Celui qui marche dans une voie intègre sera mon serviteur.7 Celui qui se livre à la fraude n'habitera pas dans ma maison; Celui qui dit des mensonges ne subsistera pas en ma présence.8 Chaque matin j'anéantirai tous les méchants du pays, Afin d'exterminer de la ville de l'Eternel Tous ceux qui commettent l'iniquité.

Io canterò la benignità e la giustizia; a te, o Eterno, salmeggerò.2 Io m’applicherò a seguire la via perfetta; quando verrai a me?… Io camminerò con integrità di cuore, in seno alla mia casa.3 Non mi proporrò cosa alcuna scellerata; io odio il fare degli sviati; esso non mi s’attaccherà.4 Il cuor perverso s’allontanerà da me; il malvagio non lo conoscerò.5 Io sterminerò chi sparla in segreto del suo prossimo; e chi ha l’occhio altero ed il cuor gonfio non lo sopporterò.6 Avrò gli occhi sui fedeli del paese perché dimorino meco; chi cammina per la via dell’integrità, quello sarà mio servitore.7 Chi pratica la frode non abiterà nella mia casa; chi proferisce menzogna non sussisterà davanti agli occhi miei.8 Ogni mattina distruggerò tutti gli empi del paese per estirpare dalla città dell’Eterno tutti gli operatori d’iniquità.
