1 Matkalaulu. Herraa minä ahdingossani huudan, ja hän vastaa minulle.

2 Herra, pelasta minut valehtelijoiden käsistä, varjele heidän petollisilta puheiltaan.

3 Mitä kaikkea Herra sinulle antaakaan, sinä valehtelija!

4 Teräviä nuolia soturin jousesta, tulisia, polttavia hiiliä!

5 Voi minua! Olen muukalaisena Mesekissä, asun Kedarin leireissä.

6 Liian kauan olen jo asunut täällä, missä kaikki vihaavat rauhaa.

7 Minä tahdon rauhaa, mutta jos sanankin sanon, he ryhtyvät sotaan.

And from a deceitful tongue.

3 What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee,

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty,

With coals of juniper.

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech,

That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 My soul hath long had her dwelling

With him that hateth peace.

7 I am for peace:

But when I speak, they are for war.
