1 Depois me levou à porta, a saber, à porta que olha para o oriente;2 eis que vinha do caminho do oriente a glória do Deus de Israel; a sua voz era como o ruído de muitas águas e a terra resplandecia com a glória dele.3 A aparência da visão era como a aparência da visão que tive, sim como a visão que tive, quando vim a destruir a cidade; e as visões eram como a visão que tive junto ao rio Quebar; e prostrei-me com o rosto em terra.4 A glória de Jeová entrou na casa pelo caminho da porta que olha para o oriente.5 O espírito levantou-me e introduziu-me no átrio interior; e eis que a glória de Jeová enchia a casa.6 Ouvi um falando comigo de dentro da casa; e um homem achava-se de pé junto de mim.7 E disse-me: Filho do homem, este é o lugar do meu trono, e o lugar das plantas dos meus pés, onde habitarei para sempre no meio dos filhos de Israel; os da casa de Israel não contaminarão mais o meu santo nome, nem eles, nem os seus reis, pelas suas fornicações e pelos cadáveres dos seus reis nos seus altos,8 pondo o seu limiar ao pé do meu limiar, e as suas ombreiras ao pé das minhas ombreiras, e havendo só um muro entre mim e eles. Contaminaram o meu santo nome pelas abominações que têm cometido, pelo que os consumi na minha ira.9 Agora lancem eles para longe de mim as suas fornicações, e os cadáveres dos seus reis, e eu habitarei para sempre no meio deles.10 Tu, filho do homem, mostra a casa aos da casa de Israel, para que se envergonhem das suas iniqüidades; e meçam o modelo.11 Se se envergonharem de tudo quanto têm feito, faze-lhes saber a forma da casa, e a sua figura, e as suas saídas, e as suas entradas, e todas as suas formas, e todas as suas ordenanças e todas as suas formas, e todas as suas leis; escreve-as à vista deles, para que guardem toda a sua forma e todas as suas ordenanças e as observem.12 Esta é a lei da casa; sobre o cume do monte todo o seu termo ao redor será santíssimo. Eis que esta é a lei da casa.13 Estas são as medidas do altar aos cúbitos (o cúbito é um cúbito e um palmo): o fundo será dum cúbito, e a largura dum cúbito, e a sua borda junto à sua extremidade ao redor, dum palmo. Esta será a base do altar.14 Desde o fundo sobre o chão até a seção inferior será de dois cúbitos, e a largura dum cúbito; e desde a seção menor até a seção maior será de quatro cúbitos, e a largura dum cúbito.15 O Harel será de quatro cúbitos; e desde o Ariel e de lá para cima se levantarão quatro chifres.16 O Ariel terá doze cúbitos de comprimento e doze de largura, quadrado nos seus quatro lados.17 A seção terá quatorze cúbitos de comprimento e quatorze de largura nos seus quatro lados; e a borda ao redor dela será de meio cúbito; o fundo dela será dum cúbito ao redor; e os seus degraus olharão para o oriente.18 E disse-me: Filho do homem, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Estas são as ordenanças do altar no dia em que o fizerem, para oferecerem sobre ele holocaustos, e para aspergirem sobre ele sangue.19 Aos sacerdotes levitas que são da linhagem de Zadoque, os quais estão perto de mim, para me servirem, diz o Senhor Jeová, darás um bezerro para uma oferta pelo pecado.20 Tomarás do sangue dele, e pô-lo-ás sobre os quatro chifres do altar, e sobre os quatro cantos da seção, e sobre a borda em roda; assim o purificarás, e o expiarás.21 Também tomarás o novilho da oferta pelo pecado, e ele o queimará no lugar da casa para isso designado, fora do santuário.22 No segundo dia oferecerás um bode sem mancha como uma oferta pelo pecado; e purificarão o altar, como o purificaram com o novilho.23 Quando tiveres acabado de o purificar, oferecerás um bezerro sem mancha, e um carneiro sem mancha do rebanho.24 Fá-lo-ás chegar perante Jeová, e os sacerdotes deitarão sal sobre eles, e os oferecerão em holocausto a Jeová.25 Por sete dias prepararás cada dia um bode como uma oferta pelo pecado; também prepararão um bezerro e um carneiro sem mancha, do rebanho.26 Por sete dias expiarão o altar e o purificarão; assim o consagrarão.27 Tendo eles completado os dias, ao oitavo dia, e dali em diante, os sacerdotes oferecerão os vossos holocaustos sobre o altar, e as vossas ofertas pacíficas; e eu vos aceitarei, diz o Senhor Jeová.

1 The man took me to the east gate.2 I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the sound of rushing water, and the earth was shining because of his glory.3 This vision was like the one I saw when he came to destroy Jerusalem and like the one I saw by the Chebar River. I immediately bowed down.4 Jehovah’s glory came into the Temple through the east gate.5 The Spirit lifted me and brought me into the inner courtyard. I saw Jehovah’s glory fill the Temple.6 I heard someone speaking to me from inside the Temple while the man was standing beside me.7 The voice said: »Son of man, this is the place where my throne is and the place where my feet rest. This is where I will live among the Israelites for a very long time. Then the people of Israel and their kings will no longer dishonor my holy name by acting like prostitutes. They will not dishonor it with the dead bodies of their kings.8 »They put their doorway by my doorway and their doorposts by my doorposts. Only a wall separated me from them. They dishonored my holy name because of the disgusting things that they have done. So I destroyed them in my anger.9 »They must stop acting like prostitutes and take the dead bodies of their kings far away from me. Then I will live among them for a very long time.10 »Son of man, describe this Temple to the people of Israel. Then they will be ashamed because of their sins. Let them study the plans.11 »Suppose they are ashamed of everything that they have done. Then show them the design of the Temple, its arrangements, its exits and entrances-its entire design. Tell them about all its rules and regulations. Then write these things down for them so that they can remember its design and follow all its rules.12 »This is a regulation of the Temple: The whole area all the way around the top of the mountain is most holy. Indeed, this is a regulation of the Temple.13 »These are the measurements of the altar, using royal measurements. The royal measuring stick was twenty-one inches long. The base of the altar was twenty-one inches high and twenty-one inches wide. All around the edge of the altar was a rim measuring nine inches wide. This was the height of the altar:14 »From the base on the ground to the lower ledge it was three and one half feet high, and from the lower ledge to the upper ledge it was seven feet high and twenty-one inches wide.15 »The place where the sacrifices were burned was seven feet high. There were four horns above it.16 »It was twenty-one feet square, wide and long.17 »The upper ledge was also square. It was twenty-four and one half feet long and twenty-four and one half feet wide. It had a rim all the way around that was ten and one half inches wide. Its base was twenty-one inches. »The steps to the altar faced east.«18 The man said: »Son of man, this is what the Lord Jehovah says: ‘These are the rules for sacrificing burnt offerings and for sprinkling blood on the altar after the altar is built.’19 »‘Jehovah said: ‘Give a young bull to the priests as an offering for sin. These priests are Zadok's descendants. They are men from the tribe of Levi, who can come near me and serve me.20 »‘Take some of the bull's blood, and put it on the altars four horns, on the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim all the way around the altar. When you do this, you will remove sin from the altar and make peace with Jehovah.21 »‘Take a young bull as an offering for sin, and burn it in the place appointed near the temple, outside the holy place.22 »‘On the second day bring a male goat that has no defects as an offering for sin. Remove sin from the altar as you did with the young bull.’23 »‘When you finish removing sin offer a young bull and a ram that have no defects.24 »‘Offer them to Jehovah. The priests must throw salt on them and offer them as burnt offerings to Jehovah.25 »‘Every day for seven days you must sacrifice a goat, a young bull, and a ram from the flock as an offering for sin. They must be animals that have no defects.26 »‘For seven days the priests should pay compensation for wrongdoing and make peace with Jehovah at the altar, purify it, and consecrate it.27 »‘When those days are over, on the eighth day, the priests must sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar. Then I will accept them,’ declares the Lord Jehovah.«
