2 o God, maak tog gou om my te red, o HERE, om my te help!

3 Laat hulle wat my lewe soek, beskaamd staan en rooi van skaamte word; laat hulle wat behae het in my ongeluk, agteruitwyk en in die skande kom.

4 Laat hulle wat sê: Ha, ha! teruggaan vanweë hul beskaming.

5 Laat in U vrolik en bly wees almal wat U soek; en laat die liefhebbers van u heil altyddeur sê: Groot is God! [ (Psalms 70:6) Maar ek is ellendig en behoeftig: o God, kom tog gou na my! U is my hulp en my redder; HERE, vertoef tog nie! ]

1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

2 Let them be put to shame and confounded

That seek after my soul:

Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor

That delight in my hurt.

3 Let them be turned back by reason of their shame

That say, Aha, aha.

4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee;

And let such as love thy salvation say continually,

Let God be magnified.

5 But I am poor and needy;

Make haste unto me, O God:

Thou art my help and my deliverer;

O Jehovah, make no tarrying.
