Of David. 2 \62:1\My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation.3 \62:2\He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.4 \62:3\How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling?5 \62:4\Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.)6 \62:5\My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope.7 \62:6\He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.8 \62:7\In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place.9 \62:8\Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.)10 \62:9\Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath.11 \62:10\Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.12 \62:11\Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's:13 \62:12\And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work.

Ein Psalm von David.2 Nur auf Gott vertraut still meine Seele, von ihm kommt meine Rettung.3 Nur er ist mein Fels und meine Rettung, meine hohe Feste; ich werde nicht viel wanken.4 Bis wann wollt ihr gegen einen Mann anstürmen, ihr alle ihn niederreißen wie eine überhängende Wand, eine angestoßene Mauer?5 Sie ratschlagen nur, ihn von seiner Höhe zu stoßen; sie haben Wohlgefallen an der Lüge; mit ihrem Munde segnen sie, und in ihrem Innern fluchen sie. Denn von ihm kommt meine Erwartung.7 Nur er ist mein Fels und meine Rettung, meine hohe Feste; ich werde nicht wanken.8 Auf Gott ruht mein Heil und meine Herrlichkeit; der Fels meiner Stärke, meine Zuflucht, ist in Gott.9 Vertrauet auf ihn allezeit, o Volk! Schüttet vor ihm aus euer Herz! Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. (Sela.)10 Nur Eitelkeit O. ein Hauch; dasselbe Wort wie am Ende des Verses sind die Menschensöhne, Lüge die Männersöhne. Auf der Waagschale steigen sie empor, sie sind allesamt leichter als ein Hauch. Und. üb.: sie sind allesamt ein Hauch11 Vertrauet nicht auf Erpressung, und setzet nicht eitle Hoffnung auf Raub; Eig. werdet nicht betört durch Raub wenn der Reichtum wächst, so setzet euer Herz nicht darauf!12 Einmal hat Gott geredet, zweimal habe ich dieses gehört, daß die Stärke Gottes sei.13 Und dein, o Herr, ist die Güte; denn du, du vergiltst einem jeden nach seinem Werke.
