1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:2 Son of man. prophesy against the prophets of Israel, who are prophesying,and say unto them who prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Yahweh,3 Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Alas for the base prophets,who follow their own spirit and have seen, nothing.4 As jackals, among ruins, thy prophets O Israel have been.5 Ye have not gone up into the breaches, Nor but a wall about the house of Israel,- to stand in the battle in the day of Yahweh. s6 They have had Visions of falsehood, and Divinations of lies, Who say. Declareth Yahweh, when, Yahweh, hath not sent them, Yet have they waited for fulfilling of the word.7 Is it not a Vision of falsehood, ye have seen, and a Divination of lies, ye have spoken, Since ye are saying. Declareth Yahweh! when I have not spoken8 Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Because ye have spoken falsehood, And have had visions of lies, Therefore behold me! against you, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.9 So then my hand shall be against the prophets who have Visions of falsehood and who divine Divinations of lies In the council of my people, shall they not be found. And in the register of the house of Israel, shall they not be written, And Upon the so of Israel, shall they not enter, So shall ye know that, I, am The Lord Yahweh,10 Because, yea, even because, they have led astray my people saying. Prosperity! when there was no prosperity,and one man, was building a partition wall, when there they were! eating it with whitewash11 Say thou unto them who are coating with whitewash It shall fall,- There hath come an Overflowing rain And I will make ha-stones fall, And a tempestuous wind shall break it down.12 Lo! when the wall hath fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the coating, wherewith ye coated it?13 Therefore Thus saith my Lord, Yahweh, So will I break down with a tempestuous wind. in mine indignation, And an overflowing rain in mine anger, shall there be, With hailstones in wrath to make an end;14 And I will pull down the wall which ye have coated with whitewash And will bring it unto the ground So shall be discovered its foundation, Yea it shall fall And ye shall come to an end in the midst thereof, So shall ye know that am Yahweh.15 Thus will I bring to an end mine indignation against the wall, and against them who were coating it with whitewash, And will say to you No more is the wall, And no more are they who were coating it:16 to wit the prophets of Israel who are prophesying unto Jerusalem, and are seeing, on her behalf, visions of prosperity, when there is no prosperity, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.17 And thou, Son of man Set thy face against the daughters of thy people, Those who are prophesying out of their own heart, And prophesy thou against them;18 and say, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Alas! for the women Who sew oracle, cases on all elbows And prepare wraps upon the head of every stature to hunt souls, the souls ye hunt, are those of my people, Whereas your own souls:, ye keep alive.19 Thus have ye profaned me unto my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, Putting to death the souls that should not die, and Keeping alive the souls that should not live, By your lying to my people I who hearken to lies20 Therefore, Thus saith my Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against your oracle-cases where. with ye are hunting the souls to make them fly, And I will tear them off your arms, And let go the souls of them whose souls ye are hunting as birds;21 And will tear off your wraps, And deliver my people out of your hand, And they shall be no longer in your hand to be hunted;- So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.22 Because of the paining of the heart the righteous man with falsehood, whom, I, have not pained, And strengthening the hands of the lawless man, that he should not turn from his wicked way. by letting him live23 Thereforeof falsehood:, shall ye have no vision, And a divination:, shall ye not divine any more, So will I deliver my people out of your hand, And ye shall know that, I, am Yahweh.

1 E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, profetiza contra os profetas de Israel que são profetizadores e dize aos que só profetizam o que vê o seu coração: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor. 3 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Ai dos profetas loucos, que seguem o seu próprio espírito e coisas que não viram! 4 Os teus profetas, ó Israel, são como raposas nos desertos. 5 Não subistes às brechas, nem reparastes a fenda da casa de Israel, para estardes na peleja no dia do Senhor. 6 Veem vaidade e adivinhação mentirosa os que dizem: O Senhor disse; quando o Senhor os não enviou; e fazem que se espere o cumprimento da palavra. 7 Não vedes visão de vaidade e não falais adivinhação mentirosa, quando dizeis: O Senhor diz, sendo que eu tal não falei?

8 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Como falais vaidade e vedes a mentira, portanto, eis que eu sou contra vós, diz o Senhor Jeová. 9 E a minha mão será contra os profetas que veem vaidade e que adivinham mentira; na congregação do meu povo, não estarão, nem nos registros da casa de Israel se escreverão, nem entrarão na terra de Israel; e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor Jeová. 10 Visto que, sim, visto que andam enganando o meu povo, dizendo: Paz, não havendo paz; e um edifica a parede de lodo, e outros a rebocam de cal não adubada, 11 dize aos que rebocam de cal não adubada que ela cairá. Haverá uma grande pancada de chuva, e vós, ó pedras grandes de saraiva, caireis, e um vento tempestuoso a fenderá. 12 Ora, eis que, caindo a parede, não vos dirão: Onde está o reboco de que a rebocastes? 13 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Um vento tempestuoso a fenderá no meu furor, e uma grande pancada de chuva haverá na minha ira, e grandes pedras de saraiva, na minha indignação, para a consumir. 14 E derribarei a parede que rebocastes de cal não adubada e darei com ela por terra, e o seu fundamento se descobrirá; assim cairá, e perecereis no meio dela e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. 15 Assim, cumprirei o meu furor contra a parede e contra os que a rebocam de cal não adubada e vos direi: A parede já não existe, nem aqueles que a rebocaram, 16 os profetas de Israel que profetizam de Jerusalém e veem para ela visão de paz, não havendo paz, diz o Senhor Jeová.

17 E tu, ó filho do homem, dirige o teu rosto contra as filhas do teu povo que profetizam de seu coração, e profetiza contra elas, 18 e dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Ai das que cosem almofadas para todos os sovacos e que fazem travesseiros para cabeça de toda estátua, para caçarem as almas! Porventura, caçareis as almas do meu povo e guardareis vivas as almas para vós? 19 Vós me profanastes entre o meu povo, por punhados de cevada e por pedaços de pão, para matardes as almas que não haviam de morrer e para guardardes vivas as almas que não haviam de viver, mentindo, assim, ao meu povo que escuta a mentira.

20 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Eis aí vou eu contra as vossas almofadas, com que vós ali caçais as almas como aves, e as arrancarei de vossos braços; e soltarei as almas que vós caçais como aves. 21 E rasgarei os vossos véus e livrarei o meu povo das vossas mãos, e nunca mais estarão em vossas mãos para serem caçadas; e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. 22 Visto que entristecestes o coração do justo com falsidade, não o havendo eu entristecido, e esforçastes as mãos do ímpio, para que não se desviasse do seu mau caminho e vivesse, 23 portanto, não vereis mais a vaidade, nem mais fareis adivinhações; mas livrarei o meu povo das vossas mãos, e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor.
