1 Then came the word of Yahweh. unto me saying,2 Son of man, Set thy face against the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them;3 and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of My Lord Yahweh, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh- To the mountains and to the hills to the hollows and to the valleys,- Behold me! I, am bringing upon you a sword, And I will destroy your high places;4 And your altars shall be laid waste, And your sun-pillars shall be broken in pieces, And I will cause your slain to fall before your manufactured gods;5 And I will lay the carcases of the sons of Israel before their manufactured gods, And will scatter your bones round about your altars.6 In all your dwelling-places, the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places, shall be made desolate, To the end your altar may be laid waste and become desolate. And your manufactured gods be broken in pieces and cease, And your sun-pillars be cut down, And your handiworks be abolished.7 And the slain shall fall in your midst, So shall ye nod that I a Yahweh.8 Yet will I leave a remnant: In that ye shall have such as are escaped of the sword throughout the nations, when ye are scattered throughout the lands.9 Then shall they who have escaped of you remember me, among the nations whither they have been carried captive, In that I have broken their adulterous heart, which hath turned aside from me, And their eyes which have adulterously gone after their manufactured gods, So shall they become loathsome in their own sight, for the wicked things which they have done in all their abominations.10 Then shall they know that, I, Yahweh,not in vain, had threatened to bring upon them this calamity.11 Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Smite with thy hand, and stamp with thy foot and say, Alas! regarding all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel,in that by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, shall they fall:12 He that is far off by pestilence, shall die and He that is near by the sword, shall fall, and He that is left and is besieged by the famine, shall die; Thus will I make an end of mine indignation against them.13 So shall ye know that I, am Yahweh, In that their slain are in the midst of their manufactured gods, on every side of their altars, Upon every high hl In all the tops of the mountains and Under every green tree and Under every tangled oak, The place where they offered a satisfying odour to all their manufactured gods.14 Thus will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land a greater waste and devastation than the desert toward Diblah throughout all their dwelling-places,- And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.

1 E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, dirige o teu rosto para os montes de Israel e profetiza contra eles. 3 E dirás: Montes de Israel, ouvi a palavra do Senhor Jeová: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová aos montes, aos outeiros, aos ribeiros e aos vales: Eis que eu, sim, eu mesmo, trarei a espada sobre vós e destruirei os vossos altos. 4 E serão assolados os vossos altares, e quebradas as vossas imagens do sol; e derribarei os vossos traspassados, diante dos vossos ídolos. 5 E porei os cadáveres dos filhos de Israel diante dos seus ídolos e espalharei os vossos ossos em redor dos vossos altares. 6 Em todos os vossos lugares habitáveis, as cidades serão destruídas, e os altos, assolados; para que os vossos altares sejam destruídos e assolados, e os vossos ídolos se quebrem e cessem, e as vossas imagens do sol sejam cortadas, e desfeitas as vossas obras. 7 E os traspassados cairão no meio de vós, para que saibais que eu sou o Senhor.

8 Mas deixarei um resto, para que haja alguns que escapem da espada entre as nações, quando fordes espalhados pelas terras. 9 Então, se lembrarão de mim os que de vós escaparem entre as nações para onde foram levados em cativeiro; porquanto me quebrantei por causa do seu coração corrompido, que se desviou de mim, e por causa dos seus olhos, que se andaram corrompendo após os seus ídolos; e terão nojo de si mesmos, por causa das maldades que fizeram em todas as suas abominações. 10 E saberão que eu, o Senhor, não disse debalde que lhes faria este mal.

11 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Bate com a mão, e bate com o pé, e dize: Ah! Por todas as abominações das maldades da casa de Israel! Porque cairão à espada, e de fome, e de peste. 12 O que estiver longe morrerá de peste; e o que está perto cairá à espada; e o que ficar de resto e cercado morrerá de fome; e cumprirei o meu furor contra eles. 13 Então, sabereis que eu sou o Senhor, quando estiverem os seus traspassados no meio dos seus ídolos, em redor dos seus altares, em todo o outeiro alto, em todos os cumes dos montes, e debaixo de toda árvore verde, e debaixo de todo carvalho espesso, no lugar onde ofereciam suave perfume a todos os seus ídolos. 14 E estenderei a mão sobre eles e farei a terra assolada, mais assolada do que o deserto da banda de Ribla, em todas as suas habitações; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
