1 Thou therefore. Son of man, Prophesy unto the mountains of Israel,and thou shalt say, Ye mountains of Israel Hear ye the word of Yahweh.2 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because the enemy hath said concerning you Aha! Even the high places of age-past times, for a possession have become ours3 Therefore, prophesy, and thou shalt say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh-Because even because they have desolated and panted for you on every side That ye should become a possession to the rest of the nations, And ye have come up into the talk of the tongue and the slander of the people4 Therefore ye mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of My Lord Yahweh, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, To the mountains and to the hills, to the channels and to the valleys, and to the desolate waste places and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and a derision, to the rest of the nations which are on every side:5 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Surely in the fire of my jealousy, have I spoken against the rest of the nation and against Edom all of it,- Who have given my land to themselves for a possession, In the rejoicing of all the heart In contempt of soul, To make of its produce a prey.6 Therefore prophesy, concerning the so of Israel,and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the channels and to the valleys Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! in my jealousy and in mine indignation, have I spoken, Because the insult of the nations, ye have borne;7 Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, I myself have lifted my hand,- Surely the nations which are yours round about, they their own shame, shall bear:8 But ye O mountains of Israel Your boughs, shall ye shoot forth, And your fruit, shall ye bear For my people Israel, For they have drawn near to enter.9 For lo! I am towards you, Therefore will I turn towards you, And ye shall be tilled and sewn;10 And I will multiply, upon youmen, All the house of Israel All of it, Then shall the cities be inhabited, And the waste places, shall be but,11 And I will multiply upon youman and beast, And hey shall multiply and be fruitful, And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former estates. And will do you more good than at your beginnings, So shall ye know that am Yahweh;12 And I will bring upon youmen even my people Israel That they may possess thee, So shalt thou be theirs, as an inheritance, -And thou shalt no more again make them childless.13 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because they are saying to you. A devourer of men, thou art, And one that didst make childless thy nations, hast thou been14 Therefore, men, shalt thou not devour any more,- And thy nations, shalt thou make childless no more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh;15 And I will not suffer to he heard against thee any more, the insult of the nations, And the reproach of the peoples, shalt thou not bear any more,- And thy nations, shalt thou not cause to stumble any more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.16 And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:17 Son of man The house of Israel were dwelling upon their own so, But they defiled it by their way, and by their doings. Like the defilement of her that is removed, became their way before me.18 So I poured out mine indignation upon them, Because of the blood which they had shed upon the land,- Yea with their manufactured gods, had they defiled it.19 So I dispersed them among the nations, And they were scattered throughout the lands, According to their way and according to their doings, I judged them.20 But when they entered among the nations where they did enter, then profaned they my holy Name,in that it was said of them The people of Yahweh, these! Yet from his land, have they come forth!21 So then I had tender regard for my holy Name,- Which the house of Israel had profaned, among the nations, where they had entered.22 Therefore say thou to the house of Israel Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Not for your sakes, am r working. O house of Israel, But for my holy Name which ye have profaned, among the nations where ye have entered;23 Therefore will I hallow my great Name, that hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in their midst,-So shall the nations know that I am Yahweh Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, When I have hallowed myself in you, before their eyes.24 Therefore will I take you from among the nations, And gather you out of all the lands,- And will bring you upon your own soil;25 And I will throw upon you clean water and ye shall he clean, From all your uncleannesses and from all your manufactured gods, will I cleanse you;26 And I will give you a new heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you,-And I will take away the heart of stone, of your flesh, And will give you a heart of flesh;27 And my spirit, will I put within you, And will cause That in my statutes, ye shall walk, And my regulations, ye shall observe, and do;28 And ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers,- And ye shall become my people, And I will become your God;29 And I will save you out of all your uncleannesses, And will call for the corn and will increase it, And wt not lay upon you famine;30 And I will multiply The fruit of the tree, and The increase of the field, To the end that ye may not receive any more the reproach of famine among the nations.31 Then shall ye call to mind Your ways that were wicked, and Your doings that were not good,- And shall become loathsome in your own sight. For your iniquities and For your abominations.32 Not for your sakes, am I working, Declareth My Lord Yahweh be it known to you, Turn ye pale and then blush for your ways. O house of Israel.33 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, In the day when I cleanse you, from all your iniquities, Then will I cause the cities to be inhabited, And the waste places shall be but;34 And the land that was made desolate shall be tilled, Whereas it was a desolation, before the eyes of every passer-by;35 And they shall say, This land that was made desolate hath become like the garden of Eden,- And the cities that were waste and deserted and thrown down, now fenced, are inhabited;36 So shall the nations that may be left remaining round about you know that I Yahweh Have but that which wan thrown down, and Have planted that which was made desolate, I, Yahweh, have spoken, and performed.37 Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Even yetfor this, will I be prevailed upon by the house of Israel to work for them, I will multiply them-Like a flockwith men:Like a flock of holy offerings.38 Like the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts So shall the waste cities be fled with flocks of men,- And they shall know that I, am Yahweh.

1 E tu, ó filho do homem, profetiza aos montes de Israel e dize: Montes de Israel, ouvi a palavra do Senhor. 2 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Pois que diz o inimigo sobre vós: Ah! Ah! Até as eternas alturas serão nossa herança; 3 portanto, profetiza e dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Visto que vos assolaram e devoraram em redor, para que ficásseis feitos herança do resto das nações, e andais em lábios paroleiros e na infâmia do povo, 4 portanto, ouvi, ó montes de Israel, a palavra do Senhor Jeová: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová aos montes e aos outeiros, às correntes e aos vales, aos lugares assolados e solitários e às cidades desamparadas, que se tornaram rapina e escárnio para o resto das nações que estão ao redor delas. 5 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Certamente, no fogo do meu zelo, falei contra o resto das nações e contra todo o Edom. Eles se apropriaram da minha terra, com alegria de todo o coração e com menosprezo de alma, para ser lançada à rapina. 6 Portanto, profetiza sobre a terra de Israel e dize aos montes, e aos outeiros, e às correntes, e aos vales: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Eis que falei no meu zelo e no meu furor, porque levastes sobre vós o opróbrio dos gentios. 7 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Eu levantei a mão, para que os gentios que estão ao redor de vós levem o seu opróbrio sobre si mesmos.

8 Mas vós, ó montes de Israel, vós produzireis os vossos ramos e dareis o vosso fruto para o meu povo de Israel; porque estão prestes a vir. 9 Porque eis que eu estou convosco; e eu me voltarei para vós, e sereis lavrados e semeados. 10 E multiplicarei homens sobre vós, a toda a casa de Israel, sim, a toda ela; e as cidades serão habitadas, e os lugares devastados serão edificados. 11 E multiplicarei homens e animais sobre vós; e eles se multiplicarão e frutificarão; e vos farei habitar como dantes e farei vosso estado melhor que nos vossos princípios; e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. 12 E farei andar sobre vós os homens, o meu povo de Israel; eles te possuirão, e serás a sua herança e nunca mais os desfilharás. 13 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Visto como vos dizem: Tu és uma terra que devora os homens e és uma terra que desfilha os seus povos; 14 por isso, tu não devorarás mais os homens, nem desfilharás mais os teus povos, diz o Senhor Jeová. 15 E farei que nunca mais se ouça em ti a afronta dos gentios; e não levarás mais sobre ti o opróbrio das nações, nem mais desfilharás a tua nação, diz o Senhor Jeová.

16 E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: 17 Filho do homem, quando a casa de Israel habitava na sua terra, então, a contaminaram com os seus caminhos e com as suas ações; como a imundícia de uma mulher em sua separação, tal era o seu caminho perante o meu rosto. 18 Derramei, pois, o meu furor sobre eles, por causa do sangue que derramaram sobre a terra e dos seus ídolos com que a contaminaram. 19 E os espalhei entre as nações, e foram espalhados pelas terras; conforme os seus caminhos e conforme os seus feitos, eu os julguei. 20 E, chegando às nações para onde foram, profanaram o meu santo nome, pois se dizia deles: Estes são o povo do Senhor e saíram da sua terra. 21 Mas eu os poupei por amor do meu santo nome, que a casa de Israel profanou entre as nações para onde foi.

22 Dize, portanto, à casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Não é por vosso respeito que eu faço isto, ó casa de Israel, mas pelo meu santo nome, que profanaste entre as nações para onde vós fostes. 23 E eu santificarei o meu grande nome, que foi profanado entre as nações, o qual profanastes no meio delas; e as nações saberão que eu sou o Senhor, diz o Senhor Jeová, quando eu for santificado aos seus olhos. 24 E vos tomarei dentre as nações, e vos congregarei de todos os países, e vos trarei para a vossa terra. 25 Então, espalharei água pura sobre vós, e ficareis purificados; de todas as vossas imundícias e de todos os vossos ídolos vos purificarei. 26 E vos darei um coração novo e porei dentro de vós um espírito novo; e tirarei o coração de pedra da vossa carne e vos darei um coração de carne. 27 E porei dentro de vós o meu espírito e farei que andeis nos meus estatutos, e guardeis os meus juízos, e os observeis. 28 E habitareis na terra que eu dei a vossos pais, e vós me sereis por povo, e eu vos serei por Deus. 29 E vos livrarei de todas as vossas imundícias; e chamarei o trigo, e o multiplicarei, e não trarei fome sobre vós. 30 E multiplicarei o fruto das árvores e a novidade do campo, para que nunca mais recebais o opróbrio da fome entre as nações. 31 Então, vos lembrareis dos vossos maus caminhos e dos vossos feitos, que não foram bons; e tereis nojo em vós mesmos das vossas maldades e das vossas abominações. 32 Não é por amor de vós que eu faço isso, diz o Senhor Jeová; notório vos seja: envergonhai-vos e confundi-vos pelos vossos caminhos, ó casa de Israel.

33 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: No dia em que eu vos purificar de todas as vossas maldades, então, farei com que sejam habitadas as cidades e sejam edificados os lugares devastados. 34 E a terra assolada se lavrará, em vez de estar assolada aos olhos de todos os que passam. 35 E dirão: Esta terra assolada ficou como jardim do Éden; e as cidades solitárias, e assoladas, e destruídas estão fortalecidas e habitadas. 36 Então, saberão as nações que ficarem de resto em redor de vós que eu, o Senhor, tenho reedificado as cidades destruídas e plantado o que estava devastado; eu, o Senhor, o disse e o farei.

37 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Ainda por isso me pedirá a casa de Israel, que lho faça: multiplicar-lhes-ei os homens, como a um rebanho. 38 Como o rebanho santificado, como o rebanho de Jerusalém nas suas solenidades, assim as cidades desertas se encherão de famílias; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
