1 And Jesus answering spoke to them again in parables, saying, 2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son, 3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come. 4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast. 5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce. 6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew them. 7 And when the king heard of it he was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy; 9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast. 10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests. 11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment. 12 And he says to him, My friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.

15 Then went the Pharisees and held a council how they might ensnare him in speaking. 16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men’s person; 17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites? 19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius. 20 And he says to them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say to him, Caesar’s. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar’s to Caesar, and what is God’s to God. 22 And when they heard him, they wondered, and left him, and went away.

23 On that day came to him Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they demanded of him, 24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother. 26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven. 27 And last of all the woman also died. 28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her? 29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the crowds heard it they were astonished at his doctrine.

34 But the Pharisees, having heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, were gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, demanded, tempting him, and saying, 36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 And he said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy understanding. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments the whole law and the prophets hang.

41 And the Pharisees being gathered together, Jesus demanded of them, 42 saying, What think ye concerning the Christ? whose son is he? They say to him, David’s. 43 He says to them, How then does David in Spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand until I put thine enemies under thy feet? 45 If therefore David call him Lord, how is he his son? 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did any one dare from that day to question him any more.

Și a zis: 2 „Împărăția cerurilor se aseamănă cu un împărat care a făcut nuntă fiului său.3 A trimis pe robii săi să cheme pe cei poftiți la nuntă, dar ei n-au vrut să vină.4 A trimis iarăși alți robi și le-a zis: ‘Spuneți celor poftiți: «Iată că am gătit ospățul meu; juncii*Prov. 9.și vitele mele cele îngrășate au fost tăiate; toate sunt gata, veniți la nuntă.»’5 Dar ei, fără să le pese de poftirea lui, au plecat: unul la holda lui și altul la negustoria lui.6 Ceilalți au pus mâna pe robi, și-au bătut joc de ei și i-au omorât.7 Când a auzit, împăratul s-a mâniat, a trimis oștile*Dan. 9:26.Luca 19:27.sale, a nimicit pe ucigașii aceia și le-a ars cetatea.8 Atunci a zis robilor săi: ‘Nunta este gata, dar cei poftiți n-au fost vrednici*Cap. 10:11,13.Fapte 13:46.de ea.9 Duceți-vă dar la răspântiile drumurilor și chemați la nuntă pe toți aceia pe care-i veți găsi.’10 Robii au ieșit la răspântii, au*Cap. 13:38,47.strâns pe toți pe care i-au găsit, și buni, și răi, și odaia ospățului de nuntă s-a umplut de oaspeți.11 Împăratul a intrat să-și vadă oaspeții și a zărit acolo pe un om care*2 Cor. 5:3.Efes. 4:24.Col. 3:10,12.Apoc. 3:4;16:15;19:8.nu era îmbrăcat în haina de nuntă.12 ‘Prietene’, i-a zis el, ‘cum ai intrat aici fără să ai haină de nuntă?’ Omul acela a amuțit.13 Atunci, împăratul a zis slujitorilor săi: ‘Legați-i mâinile și picioarele și luați-l și aruncați-l în*Cap. 8:12.întunericul de afară; acolo va fi plânsul și scrâșnirea dinților.14 Căci*Cap. 20:16.mulți sunt chemați, dar puțini sunt aleși.’"

15 Atunci*Marcu 12:13.Luca 20:20., fariseii s-au dus și s-au sfătuit cum să prindă pe Isus cu vorba. 16 Au trimis la El pe ucenicii lor împreună cu irodienii, care I-au zis: „Învățătorule, știm că ești adevărat și că înveți pe oameni calea lui Dumnezeu în adevăr, fără să-Ți pese de nimeni, pentru că nu cauți la fața oamenilor. 17 Spune-ne dar, ce crezi? Se cade să plătim bir Cezarului sau nu?" 18 Isus, care le cunoștea vicleșugul, a răspuns: „Pentru ce Mă ispitiți, fățarnicilor?19 Arătați-Mi banul birului." Și ei I-au adus un ban*22:19 Grecește: dinar.. 20 El i-a întrebat: „Chipul acesta și slovele scrise pe el ale cui sunt?"21 „Ale Cezarului", I-au răspuns ei. Atunci, El le-a zis: „Dați*Cap. 17:25.Rom. 13:7.dar Cezarului ce este al Cezarului, și lui Dumnezeu ce este al lui Dumnezeu!"22 Mirați de cuvintele acestea, ei L-au lăsat și au plecat.

23 În aceeași*Marcu 12:18.Luca 20:27. zi, au venit la Isus saducheii, care*Fapte 23:8. zic că nu este înviere. Ei I-au pus următoarea întrebare: 24 „Învățătorule, Moise*Deut. 25:5. a zis: ‘Dacă moare cineva fără să aibă copii, fratele lui să ia pe nevasta fratelui său și să-i ridice urmaș.’ 25 Erau dar la noi șapte frați. Cel dintâi s-a însurat și a murit și, fiindcă n-avea copii, a lăsat fratelui său pe nevasta lui. 26 Tot așa și al doilea, și al treilea, până la al șaptelea. 27 La urmă, după ei toți, a murit și femeia. 28 La înviere, nevasta căruia din cei șapte va fi ea? Fiindcă toți au avut-o de nevastă." 29 Drept răspuns, Isus le-a zis: „Vă rătăciți! Pentru că nu cunoașteți*Ioan 20:9.nici Scripturile, nici puterea lui Dumnezeu.30 Căci, la înviere, nici nu se vor însura, nici nu se vor mărita, ci vor fi*1 Ioan 3:2.ca îngerii lui Dumnezeu în cer.31 Cât privește învierea morților, oare n-ați citit ce vi s-a spus de Dumnezeu, când zice:32 ‘Eu*Exod 3:6,16.Marcu 12:26.Luca 20:37.Fapte 7:32.Evr. 11:16.sunt Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac și Dumnezeul lui Iacov’? Dumnezeu nu este un Dumnezeu al celor morți, ci al celor vii."33 Noroadele care ascultau au*Cap. 7:28. rămas uimite de învățătura lui Isus.

34 Când*Marcu 12:28. au auzit fariseii că Isus a astupat gura saducheilor, s-au strâns la un loc. 35 Și unul din ei, un învățător al Legii*Luca 10:25., ca să-L ispitească, I-a pus întrebarea următoare: 36 „Învățătorule, care este cea mai mare poruncă din Lege?" 37 Isus i-a răspuns: „‘Să*Deut. 6:5;10:12;30:6.Luca 10:27.iubești pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău și cu tot cugetul tău.’38 Aceasta este cea dintâi și cea mai mare poruncă.39 Iar a doua, asemenea ei, este: ‘Să*Lev. 19:18. Cap. 19:19.Marcu 12:31.Luca 10:27.Rom. 13:9.Gal. 5:14.Iac. 2:8.iubești pe aproapele tău ca pe tine însuți.’40 În aceste*Cap. 7:12.1 Tim. 1:5.două porunci se cuprind toată Legea și Prorocii."

41 Pe*Marcu 12:35.Luca 20:41. când erau strânși la un loc fariseii, Isus i-a întrebat: 42 „Ce credeți voi despre Hristos? Al cui fiu este?" „Al lui David", I-au răspuns ei. 43 Și Isus le-a zis: „Cum atunci, David, fiind insuflat de Duhul, Îl numește Domn, când zice:44 ‘Domnul*Ps. 110:1.Fapte 2:34.1 Cor. 15:25.Evr. 1:13;10:12,13.a zis Domnului Meu: «Șezi la dreapta Mea până voi pune pe vrăjmașii Tăi sub picioarele Tale»’?45 Deci, dacă David Îl numește Domn, cum este El fiul lui?"46 Nimeni*Luca 14:6. nu I-a putut răspunde un cuvânt. Și, din ziua aceea, n-a*Marcu 12:34.Luca 20:40. îndrăznit nimeni să-I mai pună întrebări.
