1 Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place where he himself was about to come. 2 And he said to them, The harvest indeed is great, but the workmen few; supplicate therefore the Lord of the harvest that he may send out workmen into his harvest. 3 Go: behold I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry neither purse nor scrip nor sandals, and salute no one on the way. 5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace to this house. 6 And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it; but if not it shall turn to you again. 7 And in the same house abide, eating and drinking such things as they have; for the workman is worthy of his hire. Remove not from house to house. 8 And into whatsoever city ye may enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you, 9 and heal the sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come nigh to you. 10 But into whatsoever city ye may have entered and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 Even the dust of your city, which cleaves to us on the feet, do we shake off against you; but know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh. 12 I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for Sodom in that day than for that city. 13 Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the works of power which have taken place in you had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they had long ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. 15 And thou, Capernaum, who hast been raised up to heaven, shalt be brought down even to hades. 16 He that hears you hears me; and he that rejects you rejects me; and he that rejects me rejects him that sent me.

17 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through thy name. 18 And he said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning falling out of heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the power of treading upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall in anywise injure you. 20 Yet in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subjected to you, but rejoice that your names are written in the heavens. 21 In the same hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I praise thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that thou hast hid these things from wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes: yea, Father, for thus has it been well-pleasing in thy sight. 22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son is pleased to reveal him. 23 And having turned to the disciples privately he said, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see. 24 For I say to you that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye behold, and did not see them; and to hear the things which ye hear, and did not hear them.

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting him, and saying, Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit life eternal? 26 And he said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 But he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thine understanding; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live. 29 But he, desirous of justifying himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30 And Jesus replying said, A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers, who also, having stripped him and inflicted wounds, went away leaving him in a half-dead state. 31 And a certain priest happened to go down that way, and seeing him, passed on on the opposite side; 32 and in like manner also a Levite, being at the spot, came and looked at him and passed on on the opposite side. 33 But a certain Samaritan journeying came to him, and seeing him, was moved with compassion, 34 and came up to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and having put him on his own beast, took him to the inn and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow as he left, taking out two denarii he gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him, and whatsoever thou shalt expend more, I will render to thee on my coming back. 36 Which now of these three seems to thee to have been neighbour of him who fell into the hands of the robbers? 37 And he said, He that shewed him mercy. And Jesus said to him, Go, and do thou likewise.

38 And it came to pass as they went that he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman, Martha by name, received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also, having sat down at the feet of Jesus was listening to his word. 40 Now Martha was distracted with much serving, and coming up she said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Speak to her therefore that she may help me. 41 But Jesus answering said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things; 42 but there is need of one, and Mary has chosen the good part, the which shall not be taken from her.

Să nu umblați din casă în casă.8 În oricare cetate veți intra și unde vă vor primi oamenii, să mâncați ce vi se va pune înainte,9 să*Cap. 9:2.vindecați pe bolnavii care vor fi acolo și să le ziceți: ‘Împărăția lui Dumnezeu s-a*Mat. 3:2;4:17;10:7. Vers. 11.apropiat de voi.’10 Dar, în oricare cetate veți intra și nu vă vor primi, să vă duceți pe ulițele ei și să ziceți:11 ‘Scuturăm împotriva voastră chiar și*Mat. 10:14. Cap. 9:5.Fapte 13:51;18:6.praful din cetatea voastră, care s-a lipit de picioarele noastre; totuși să știți că Împărăția lui Dumnezeu s-a apropiat de voi.’12 Eu vă spun că, în ziua judecății, va fi mai*Mat. 10:15.Marcu 6:11.ușor pentru Sodoma decât pentru cetatea aceea.13 Vai*Mat. 11:21.de tine, Horazine! Vai de tine, Betsaido! Căci*Ezec. 3:6., dacă ar fi fost făcute în Tir și Sidon lucrările puternice care au fost făcute în voi, de mult s-ar fi pocăit stând în sac și cenușă.14 De aceea, în ziua judecății, va fi mai ușor pentru Tir și Sidon decât pentru voi.15 Și*Mat. 11:23.tu, Capernaume, vei fi înălțat*Gen. 11:4.Deut. 1:28.Is. 14:13.Ier. 51:53.oare până la cer? 17 Cei șaptezeci s-au*Vers. 1. întors plini de bucurie și au zis: „Doamne, chiar și dracii ne sunt supuși în Numele Tău." 18 Isus le-a zis: „Am*Ioan 12:31;16:11.Apoc. 9:1;12:8,9.văzut pe Satana căzând ca un fulger din cer. 19 Iată că v-am*Marcu 16.Fapte 28:5.dat putere să călcați peste șerpi și peste scorpii și peste toată puterea vrăjmașului: și nimic nu vă va putea vătăma.20 Totuși să nu vă bucurați de faptul că duhurile vă sunt supuse, ci bucurați-vă că numele*Exod 32:32.Ps. 69:28.Is. 4:3.Dan. 12:1.Filip. 4:3.Evr. 12:23.Apoc. 13:8;20:12;21:27.voastre sunt scrise în ceruri."21 În*Mat. 11:25. ceasul acela, Isus S-a bucurat în Duhul Sfânt și a zis: „Tată, Doamne al cerului și al pământului, Te laud pentru că ai ascuns aceste lucruri de cei înțelepți și pricepuți și le-ai descoperit pruncilor. Da, Tată, fiindcă așa ai găsit cu cale Tu.22 Toate*Mat. 28:18.Ioan 3:35;5:27;17:2.lucrurile Mi-au fost date în mâini de Tatăl Meu; și*Ioan 1:18;6:44,46.nimeni nu știe cine este Fiul, afară de Tatăl, nici cine este Tatăl, afară de Fiul și acela căruia vrea Fiul să i-L descopere."23 Apoi, S-a întors spre ucenici și le-a spus deoparte: „Ferice*Mat. 13:16.de ochii care văd lucrurile pe care le vedeți voi!24 Căci vă spun că*1 Pet. 1:10.mulți proroci și împărați au voit să vadă ce vedeți voi, și n-au văzut, să audă ce auziți voi, și n-au auzit."

25 Un învățător*Mat. 19:16;22:35. al Legii s-a sculat să ispitească pe Isus și I-a zis: „Învățătorule, ce să fac ca să moștenesc viața veșnică?" 26 Isus i-a zis: „Ce este scris în Lege? Cum citești în ea?"27 El a răspuns: „Să*Deut. 6:5. iubești pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, cu toată puterea ta și cu tot cugetul tău și*Lev. 19:18. pe aproapele tău ca pe tine însuți." 28 „Bine ai răspuns", i-a zis Isus; „fă așa și vei*Lev. 18:5.Neem. 9:29.Ezec. 20:11,13,21.Rom. 10:5.avea viața veșnică."29 Dar el, care voia să*Cap. 16:15. se îndreptățească, a zis lui Isus: „Și cine este aproapele meu?" 30 Isus a luat din nou cuvântul și a zis: „Un om se cobora din Ierusalim la Ierihon. A căzut între niște tâlhari, care l-au dezbrăcat, l-au jefuit de tot, l-au bătut zdravăn, au plecat și l-au lăsat aproape mort.31 Din întâmplare, se cobora pe același drum un preot și, când a văzut pe omul acesta, a*Ps. 38:11.trecut înainte pe alături.32 Un levit trecea și el prin locul acela și, când l-a văzut, a trecut înainte pe alături.33 Dar un samaritean*Ioan 4:9., care era în călătorie, a venit în locul unde era el și, când l-a văzut, i s-a făcut milă de el.34 S-a apropiat de i-a legat rănile și a turnat peste ele untdelemn și vin, apoi l-a pus pe dobitocul lui, l-a dus la un han și a îngrijit de el.35 A doua zi, când a pornit la drum, a scos doi lei, i-a dat hangiului și i-a zis: ‘Ai grijă de el, și orice vei mai cheltui, îți voi da înapoi la întoarcere.’36 Care dintre aceștia trei ți se pare că a dat dovadă că este aproapele celui ce căzuse între tâlhari?"37 „Cel ce și-a făcut milă cu el", a răspuns învățătorul Legii. „Du-te de fă și tu la fel", i-a zis Isus.

38 Pe când era pe drum cu ucenicii Săi, Isus a intrat într-un sat. Și o femeie, numită Marta*Ioan 11:1;12:2,3., L-a primit în casa ei. 39 Ea avea o soră numită Maria, care*1 Cor. 7:32. s-a așezat jos*Cap. 3:35.Fapte 22:3., la picioarele Domnului, și asculta cuvintele Lui. 40 Marta era împărțită cu multă slujire, a venit repede la El și I-a zis: „Doamne, nu-Ți pasă că soră-mea m-a lăsat să slujesc singură? Zi-i dar să-mi ajute." 41 Drept răspuns, Isus i-a zis: „Marto, Marto, pentru multe lucruri te îngrijorezi și te frămânți tu,42 dar un*Ps. 27:4.singur lucru trebuie. Maria și-a ales partea cea bună, care nu i se va lua."
