1 And he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury; 2 but he saw also a certain poor widow casting therein two mites. 3 And he said, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than all; 4 for all these out of their abundance have cast into the gifts of God; but she out of her need has cast in all the living which she had.

5 And as some spoke of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated offerings, he said, 6 As to these things which ye are beholding, days are coming in which there shall not be left stone upon stone which shall not be thrown down. 7 And they asked him saying, Teacher, when then shall these things be; and what is the sign when these things are going to take place? 8 And he said, See that ye be not led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying, I am he, and the time is drawn nigh: go ye not therefore after them. 9 And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end is not immediately. 10 Then he said to them, Nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 there shall be both great earthquakes in different places, and famines and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things they shall lay their hands upon you and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors on account of my name; 13 but it shall turn out to you for a testimony. 14 Settle therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand your defence, 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your opposers shall not be able to reply to or resist. 16 But ye will be delivered up even by parents and brethren and relations and friends, and they shall put to death some from among you, 17 and ye will be hated of all for my name’s sake. 18 And a hair of your head shall in no wise perish. 19 By your patient endurance gain your souls.

20 But when ye see Jerusalem encompassed with armies, then know that its desolation is drawn nigh. 21 Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of it depart out, and those who are in the country not enter into it; 22 for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished. 23 But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the nations until the times of the nations be fulfilled. 25 And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roar of the sea and rolling waves, 26 men ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh.

29 And he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig-tree and all the trees; 30 when they already sprout, ye know of your own selves, on looking at them, that already the summer is near. 31 So also ye, when ye see these things take place, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall in no wise pass away until all come to pass. 33 The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away. 34 But take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares; 35 for as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 37 And by day he was teaching in the temple, and by night, going out, he remained abroad on the mountain called the mount of Olives; 38 and all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.

1 Isus Și-a ridicat ochii și a*Marcu 12:41. văzut pe niște bogați care își aruncau darurile în vistierie. 2 A văzut și pe o văduvă săracă aruncând acolo doi bănuți. 3 Și a zis: „Adevărat vă spun că*2 Cor. 8:12.această văduvă săracă a aruncat mai mult decât toți ceilalți,4 căci toți aceștia au aruncat la daruri din prisosul lor, dar ea a aruncat, din sărăcia ei, tot ce avea ca să trăiască."

5 Pe când vorbeau unii*Mat. 24:1.Marcu 13:1. despre Templu, că era împodobit cu pietre frumoase și daruri, Isus a zis: 6 „Vor veni zile când nu va*Cap. 19:44.rămâne aici piatră pe piatră care să nu fie dărâmată."7 „Învățătorule", L-au întrebat ei, „când se vor întâmpla toate aceste lucruri? Și care va fi semnul când se vor întâmpla aceste lucruri?" 8 Isus a răspuns: „Băgați de seamă*Mat. 24:4.Marcu 13:5.Efes. 5:6.2 Tes. 2:3.să nu vă amăgească cineva. Căci vor veni mulți în Numele Meu și vor zice: ‘Eu sunt Hristosul’ și ‘Vremea se apropie.’ Să nu mergeți după ei.9 Când veți auzi de războaie și de răscoale, să nu vă înspăimântați, pentru că întâi trebuie să se întâmple aceste lucruri. Dar sfârșitul nu va fi îndată.10 Apoi*Mat. 24:7.", le-a zis El, „un neam se va scula împotriva altui neam și o împărăție, împotriva altei împărății.11 Pe alocuri vor fi mari cutremure de pământ, foamete și ciumi, vor fi arătări înspăimântătoare și semne mari în cer.12 Dar*Marcu 13:9.Apoc. 2:10.înainte de toate acestea, vor pune mâinile pe voi și vă vor prigoni, vă vor da pe mâna sinagogilor, vă vor arunca în*Fapte 4:3;5:18;12:4;16:24.temnițe, vă vor târî*Fapte 25:23.înaintea împăraților și înaintea dregătorilor din*1 Pet. 2:13.pricina Numelui Meu.13 Aceste lucruri vi*Filip. 1:28.2 Tes. 1:5.se vor întâmpla ca să fiți mărturie.14 Țineți bine minte*Mat. 10:19.Marcu 13:11. Cap. 12:11., să nu vă gândiți mai dinainte ce veți răspunde,15 căci vă voi da o gură și o înțelepciune căreia nu-i vor putea răspunde, nici sta împotrivă*Fapte 6:10.toți potrivnicii voștri.16 Veți*Mica 7:6.Marcu 13:12.fi dați în mâinile lor până și de părinții, frații, rudele și prietenii voștri; și vor omorî pe mulți*Fapte 7:59;12:2.dintre voi.17 Veți*Mat. 10:22.fi urâți de toți din pricina Numelui Meu.18 Dar*Mat. 10:30.niciun păr din cap nu vi se va pierde.19 Prin răbdarea voastră, vă veți câștiga sufletele voastre.

20 Când*Mat. 24:15.Marcu 13:14.veți vedea Ierusalimul înconjurat de oști, să știți că atunci pustiirea lui este aproape.21 Atunci, cei din Iudeea să fugă la munți, cei din mijlocul Ierusalimului să iasă din el și cei de prin ogoare să nu intre în el.22 Căci zilele acelea vor fi zile de răzbunare, ca să*Dan. 9:26,27.Zah. 11:1.se împlinească tot ce este scris.23 Vai*Mat. 24:19.de femeile care vor fi însărcinate și de cele ce vor da țâță în acele zile! Pentru că va fi o strâmtorare mare în țară și mânie, împotriva norodului acestuia.24 Vor cădea sub ascuțișul sabiei, vor fi luați robi printre toate neamurile, și Ierusalimul va fi călcat în picioare de neamuri, până*Dan. 9:27;12:7.Rom. 11:25.se vor împlini vremurile neamurilor.25 Vor*Mat. 24:29.Marcu 13:24.2 Pet. 3:10,12.fi semne în soare, în lună și în stele. Și pe pământ va fi strâmtorare printre neamuri, care nu vor ști ce să facă la auzul urletului mării și al valurilor;26 oamenii își vor da sufletul de groază în așteptarea lucrurilor care se vor întâmpla pe pământ, căci*Mat. 24:29.puterile cerurilor vor fi clătinate.27 Atunci, vor vedea pe Fiul omului venind*Mat. 24:30.Apoc. 1:7;14:14.pe un nor cu putere și slavă mare.28 Când vor începe să se întâmple aceste lucruri, să vă uitați în sus și să vă ridicați capetele, pentru că izbăvirea voastră se*Rom. 8:19,23.apropie."29 Și*Mat. 24:32.Marcu 13:28. le-a spus o pildă: „Vedeți smochinul și toți copacii.30 Când înfrunzesc și-i vedeți, voi singuri cunoașteți că de acum vara este aproape.31 Tot așa, când veți vedea întâmplându-se aceste lucruri, să știți că Împărăția lui Dumnezeu este aproape.32 Adevărat vă spun că nu va trece neamul acesta până când se vor împlini toate aceste lucruri.33 Cerul*Mat. 24:35.și pământul vor trece, dar cuvintele Mele nu vor trece.34 Luați seama*Rom. 13:13.1 Tes. 5:6.1 Pet. 4:7.la voi înșivă, ca nu cumva să vi se îngreuieze inimile cu îmbuibare de mâncare și băutură și cu îngrijorările vieții acesteia, și astfel ziua aceea să vină fără veste asupra voastră.35 Căci ziua aceea va veni ca*1 Tes. 5:2.2 Pet. 3:10.Apoc. 3:3;16:15.un laț peste toți cei ce locuiesc pe toată fața pământului.36 Vegheați dar în tot timpul*Mat. 24:42;25:13.Marcu 13:33.și rugați-vă*Cap. 18:1., ca să aveți putere să scăpați de toate lucrurile acestea care se vor întâmpla și să stați*Ps. 1:5.Efes. 6:13.în picioare înaintea Fiului omului."37 Ziua, Isus învăța*Ioan 8:1,2. pe norod în Templu, iar*Cap. 22:39. noaptea Se ducea de o petrecea în muntele care se cheamă Muntele Măslinilor. 38 Și tot norodul venea dis-de-dimineață la El în Templu, ca să-L asculte.
