1 And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had taken; for he had taken a Cushite as wife. 2 And they said, Has Jehovah indeed spoken only to Moses? has he not spoken also to us? And Jehovah heard it. 3 But the man Moses was very meek, above all men that were upon the face of the earth.

4 Then Jehovah spoke suddenly to Moses, and to Aaron, and to Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they went out, they three. 5 And Jehovah came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I Jehovah will make myself known to him in a vision, I will speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so my servant Moses: he is faithful in all my house. 8 Mouth to mouth do I speak to him openly, and not in riddles; and the form of Jehovah doth he behold. Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses? 9 And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them, and he went away;

10 and the cloud departed from off the tent. And behold, Miriam was leprous as snow; and Aaron turned toward Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. 11 Then Aaron said to Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not this sin upon us, wherein we have been foolish, and have sinned! 12 Let her not be as one stillborn, half of whose flesh is consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb. 13 And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, O ·God*GodHebrew: El heal her, I beseech thee! 14 And Jehovah said to Moses, But had her father anyways spat in her face, should she not be shamed seven days? She shall be shut outside the camp seven days, and afterwards she shall be received in again. 15 And Miriam was shut outside the camp seven days; and the people did not journey till Miriam was received in again. 16 And afterwards the people journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.

Și s-au dus câteșitrei. 5 Domnul S-a coborât*Cap. 11:25;16:19. în stâlpul de nor și a stat la ușa cortului. A chemat pe Aaron și pe Maria, și ei s-au apropiat amândoi. 6 Și a zis: „Ascultați bine ce vă spun! Când va fi printre voi un proroc, Eu, Domnul, Mă voi descoperi lui într-o vedenie*Gen. 15:1;46:2.Iov 33:15.Ezec. 1:1.Dan. 8:2;10:8,16,17.Luca 1:11,22.Fapte 10:11,17;22:17,18. sau îi voi vorbi într-un*Gen. 31:10,11.1 Împ. 3:5.Mat. 1:20. vis. 7 Nu*Ps. 105:26. tot așa este însă cu robul Meu Moise. El este*Evr. 3:2,5. credincios în toată casa*1 Tim. 3:15. Mea. 8 Eu îi vorbesc gură către*Exod 33:11.Deut. 34:10. gură, Mă descopăr lui nu*1 Cor. 13:12. prin lucruri greu de înțeles, ci el vede chipul*Exod 33:19. Domnului. Cum de*2 Pet. 2:10.Iuda 8. nu v-ați temut deci să vorbiți împotriva robului Meu, împotriva lui Moise?" 9 Domnul S-a aprins de mânie împotriva lor. Și a plecat. 10 Norul s-a depărtat de pe cort. Și iată că Maria*Deut. 24:9. era plină de*2 Împ. 5:27;15:5.2 Cron. 26:19,20. lepră, albă ca zăpada. Aaron s-a întors spre Maria, și iată că ea avea lepră. 11 Atunci Aaron a zis lui Moise: „Ah, domnul meu, nu ne face să purtăm pedeapsa*2 Sam. 19:19;24:10.Prov. 30:32. păcatului pe care l-am făcut ca niște nechibzuiți și de care ne-am făcut vinovați! 12 Să nu fie Maria ca un copil născut*Ps. 88:4. mort, a cărui carne este pe jumătate putredă când iese din pântecele mamei lui!" 13 Moise a strigat către Domnul, zicând: „Dumnezeule, Te rog, vindec-o!" 14 Și Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Dacă*Evr. 12:9. ar fi scuipat-o tatăl ei în obraz, n-ar fi fost ea oare de ocară timp de șapte zile? Să fie închisă*Lev. 13:46. Cap. 5:2,3. deci șapte zile afară din tabără, după aceea să fie primită în tabără." 15 Maria*Deut. 24:9.2 Cron. 26:20,21. a fost închisă șapte zile afară din tabără. Și poporul n-a pornit până ce n-a intrat din nou Maria în tabără. 16 După aceea, poporul a plecat din Hațerot*Cap. 11:35;33:18. și a tăbărât în pustia Paran.
