1 Então o Espírito ergueu-me e levou-me à porta oriental do templo, onde vi vinte e cinco das personalidades mais proeminentes da cidade, incluindo dois governadores, Jazanias (filho de Azur) e Pelatias (filho de Benaia).

2 Disse-me o Espírito: Homem mortal, são estes os responsáveis por todos os ímpios conselhos dados nesta cidade.

3 Pois dizem à população: É tempo de reconstruir Jerusalém, porque ela é como um escudo que nos protegerá de qualquer dano.

4 Portanto, ó homem mortal, profetiza contra eles.

5 O Espírito do Senhor veio sobre mim e mandou-me dizer isto: Assim diz o Senhor ao povo de Israel: É isto que vocês dizem? Sim, sei que é, porque conheço todos os vossos pensamentos. Vocês têm multiplicado os vossos assassínios e enchido as ruas com mortos.

7 Por isso o Senhor Deus diz: Pensam vocês que esta cidade será como um escudo de ferro! Não, não será! Ela não vos protegerá. Aque les que vocês assasinaram ficaram lá dentro, mas vocês serão arras tados para fora e mortos

8 Deixar-vos-ei expostos à guerra, que vocês tanto temeram, diz o Senhor Deus; levar-vos-ei de Jerusalém e entregar-vos-ei a estrangeiros que aplicarão em vocês as minhas sentenças.

10 Serão abatidos, mesmo que seja junto às fronteiras de Israel, e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

11 Não, esta cidade não será para vocês como um escudo de ferro, guardando-vos com segurança lá dentro. Perseguir-vos-ei até aos limites extremos de Israel, e saberão que eu sou o Senhor - vocês que não me obedeceram mas preferiram antes imitar as nações todas à vossa volta.

13 Enquanto eu estava ainda a falar, Pelatias (filho de Benaia) repentinamente morreu. Então prostrei-me com o rosto no chão e clamei: Senhor Deus, irás tu matar toda a gente de Israel?

14 A palavra do Senhor veio de novo:

15 Homem mortal, o resto da gente que ficou em Jerusalém anda dizendo acerca dos teus próprios irmãos de raça que foram exilados: Foi por causa da sua grande maldade que foram deportados pelo Senhor; e agora o Senhor deu-nos a terra toda! Mas quanto a esses deportados, diz o Senhor Deus: Ainda que vos tenha espalhado por todas as regiões do mundo, continuarei a manter-vos esse santuário durante o tempo que lá estiverem; trazer-vos-ei de volta de entre as nações por onde foram espalhados e dar-vos-ei de novo a terra de Israel. Quando regressarem, hão-de fazer desaparecer todo e qualquer vestígio desta idolatria.

19 Dar-vos-ei um novo coração e um novo espírito; tirar-vos-ei os corações de pedra e vos darei corações embrandecidos de amor por Deus, de tal forma que obedecerão sem dificuldade às minhas leis e serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus. Mas para os que estão agora em Jerusalém, que anseiam pelos seus ídolos, dar-lhes-ei a paga inteira dos seus pecados, diz o Senhor Deus.

22 Então os querubins elevaram as asas, ergueu-se no ar, com as rodas junto de si, mantendo-se a glória do Senhor acima deles. A glória do Senhor alçou-se de sobre a cidade e pôs-se sobre o monte que está a oriente da cidade.

24 O Espírito de Deus transportou-me de novo a Babilónia, entre os judeus deportados que lá estavam. E assim terminou a visão da minha visita a Jerusalém. Contei aos exilados tudo o que o Senhor me mostrara.

1 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the east gate of the house of Yahweh which looketh eastward, and lo! in the opening of the gate, twenty-five men,and I saw in their midst Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah princes of the people.

2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, These, are the men who are devising iniquity, and who are counselling wicked counsel in this city;

3 who are saying, Not near! let us build houses, It, is the caldron, and, we, are the flesh!

4 Therefore, prophesy against them, prophesy. Son of man.

5 Then fell upon me the Spirit of Yahweh, and he said unto me SayThus, saith Yahweh, Thus have ye said O house of Israel, Yea the things that come up on your spirit, know every one.

6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city,- And have fled her streets with slain.

7 Therefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Your Main. whom ye have laid in her midst, They are the flesh, and She is the caldron,when ye are taken out of her midst.

8 A sword, have ye feared, And a sword, will I bring in upon you, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

9 So will I take you forth out of her midst, and will deliver you into the hand of foreigners, and will execute upon you judgments.

10 By the sword, shah ye fall, Upon the boundary of Israel, will I judge you, So shall, ye know that a Yahweh.

11 This city shall not serve you for a caldron, Neither shall, ye, serve in the midst thereof for flesh,Near the boundary of Israel, will I judge you,

12 So hat ye now that I am Yahweh, In whose statutes, ye have not walked And whose appointments, ye have not executed, But according to the appointments of the nations that are round about you, have ye done.

13 And it came to pass as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died,so then I fell down upon my face and made outcry with a loud voice and said Alas! My Lord Yahweh! A full end, art thou making of the remnant of Israel?

14 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:

15 Son of man Thine own brethren, thine own brethren the men of thy kindred, even all the house of Israel all of it are they to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far away from Yahweh, To us, it is that the land, hath been given, for a possession!

16 Therefore, say, Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Although I have removed them far away among the nations, And although I have dispersed them throughout the lands Yet have I become to them a sanctuary for a little while, in the lands which they have entered

17 Therefore say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Therefore will I assemble you from among the peoples, And gather you out of the lands wherein ye have been dispersed,- And will give you the soil of Israel.

18 So shall they come in thither, and take away all her detestable things, and all her abominations, out of her;

19 And I will give them another heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you,And will take away the heart of stone out of their e flesh, and give them a heart of flesh:

20 To the end that in my statutes, they may walk, And mine appointments, they may keep, and do them, So shall they become my people, And l will become their God.

21 But as for them who having a heart for their detestable things and for their abominations after their own heart, do walk, Their way upon their own heads, will I render, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, the wheels also going in unison with them, the glory of the God of Israel, being over them above.

23 Thus went up the glory of Yahweh, out from the midst of the city,and stood on the mountain, which is on the east of the city.

24 And, the spirit lifted me up, and brought me to Chaldea unto them of the captivity, in the vision by the Spirit of God,thus went up from me, the vision which I had seen.

25 So I spake unto them of the captivity,all the words of Yahweh which he had shewed me.
