1 Recebi esta mensagem da parte do Senhor:m
2 Homem mortal, profetiza contra os falsos profetas de Israel que andam a inventar as suas próprias visões, clamando que têm mensagens minhas, quando a verdade é que nunca lhes mandei dizer fosse o que fosse! Mal deles, pois!
4 Ó Israel, estes falsos profetas vossos valem tanto como raposas para vos ajudarem a construir uma muralha! Ó infelizes profetas, que fizeram vocês alguma vez para fortalecer os muros de Israel contra os seus inimigos, fortalecendo Israel no Senhor? Ao invés, mentem quando se põem a dizer, A minha mensagem é de Deus! Deus não vos mandou. E ainda têm cara para esperar que ele lhes cumpra as profecias que inventam. Não neguem pois que têm dito que receberam visões que afinal nunca viram, e que têm dito, Esta mensagem vem de Deus, quando a verdade é que nunca vos dirigi a minha palavra!
8 Por isso diz o Senhor Deus: Destruir-vos-ei por causa dessas falsas visões e mentiras. A minha mão se tornará contra vocês, e serão expulsos da convivência dos líderes de Israel; os vossos nomes serão apagados dos registos e vocês nunca mais tornarão a ver a terra. Saberão assim que eu sou o Senhor.
10 Porque estes homens perversos enganam o meu povo dizendo: Deus mandará paz, enfim. Quando não é nada disso que está nos meus planos! É como se o meu povo estivesse a levantar um muro de lama seca e todos esses profetas se pusessem a elogiá-lo por isso, rebocando-o de cal!
11 Diz a esses maus construtores que o muro deles não se pode aguentar. Vai vir aí uma forte pancada de chuva que porá tudo por terra; grande saraivada e ventos tempestuosos deitarão tudo disso abaixo.
12 E quando esses muros se diluírem, o povo gritará a chorar: Porque é que não nos avisaram de que esta matéria não era boa? Porque é que ainda se puseram a rebocar tudo e a cobrir a nossa falha? Sim, podem ter a certeza de que o muro cairá
13 O Senhor Deus diz: Fá-lo-ei derrocar com uma tempestade de indignação, com um enorme dilúvio de ira, com saraivadas de cólera./
14 Derrubarei a vossa parede caiada, e será sobre vocês mesmos que ela cairá, esmagando-vos; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor
15 Então a minha cólera contra essa espécie de muralha será satisfeita; e quanto aos que a louvavam, direi: Muro e construtores, tudo se foi.ÿ
16 Porque eram profetas mentirosos, clamando que Jerusalém terá paz, quando não há paz alguma, diz o Senhor Deus.
17 Homem mortal, fala contra as mulheres profetisas também, que pretendem que o Senhor lhes transmitiu mensagens.
18 Diz-lhes que o Senhor Deus lhes comunica o seguinte: Ai dessas mulheres que andam destruindo a alma do meu povo, tanto de velhos como de novos, atando-lhes adornos enfeitiçadores nos braços, fornecendo-lhes véus mágicos e vendendo-lhes indulgências. Até mesmos os auxílios que fornecem é sempre tendo em vista algum benefício pessoal
19 Por um punhado de cevada ou um bocado de pão irão vocês afastar de mim o meu povo? Conduziram à morte aqueles que não estavam destinados a morrer! Por outro lado prometeram a vida aos que não estavam destinados a viver, mentido assim ao meu povo, o qual facilmente escuta a mentira!
20 Assim diz o Senhor: Esmagar-vos-ei porque andam caçando a alma do meu povo com vossas feitiçarias. Liquidarei esses encantamentos e libertarei o meu povo, como se fossem pássaros saindo duma gaiola
21 Rasgarei os véus mágicos e libertarei o meu povo da vossa influência; não mais serão vossas vítimas, e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
22 As vossas mentiras desencorajaram os rectos, e eu não queria que isso acontecesse; por outro lado, encorajaram os ímpios, prometendo-lhes vida, ainda que continuando no seu pecado.
23 Mas vocês não hão-de mentir mais; não falarão mais em ter tido visões que no fim de contas não tiveram nada, nem praticando bruxarias, pois livrarei o meu povo das vossas mãos, destruindo-vos, e vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 Son of man. prophesy against the prophets of Israel, who are prophesying,and say unto them who prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Yahweh,
3 Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Alas for the base prophets,who follow their own spirit and have seen, nothing.
4 As jackals, among ruins, thy prophets O Israel have been.
5 Ye have not gone up into the breaches, Nor but a wall about the house of Israel,- to stand in the battle in the day of Yahweh. s
6 They have had Visions of falsehood, and Divinations of lies, Who say. Declareth Yahweh, when, Yahweh, hath not sent them, Yet have they waited for fulfilling of the word.
7 Is it not a Vision of falsehood, ye have seen, and a Divination of lies, ye have spoken, Since ye are saying. Declareth Yahweh! when I have not spoken
8 Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Because ye have spoken falsehood, And have had visions of lies, Therefore behold me! against you, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
9 So then my hand shall be against the prophets who have Visions of falsehood and who divine Divinations of lies In the council of my people, shall they not be found. And in the register of the house of Israel, shall they not be written, And Upon the so of Israel, shall they not enter, So shall ye know that, I, am The Lord Yahweh,
10 Because, yea, even because, they have led astray my people saying. Prosperity! when there was no prosperity,and one man, was building a partition wall, when there they were! eating it with whitewash
11 Say thou unto them who are coating with whitewash It shall fall,- There hath come an Overflowing rain And I will make ha-stones fall, And a tempestuous wind shall break it down.
12 Lo! when the wall hath fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the coating, wherewith ye coated it?
13 Therefore Thus saith my Lord, Yahweh, So will I break down with a tempestuous wind. in mine indignation, And an overflowing rain in mine anger, shall there be, With hailstones in wrath to make an end;
14 And I will pull down the wall which ye have coated with whitewash And will bring it unto the ground So shall be discovered its foundation, Yea it shall fall And ye shall come to an end in the midst thereof, So shall ye know that am Yahweh.
15 Thus will I bring to an end mine indignation against the wall, and against them who were coating it with whitewash, And will say to you No more is the wall, And no more are they who were coating it:
16 to wit the prophets of Israel who are prophesying unto Jerusalem, and are seeing, on her behalf, visions of prosperity, when there is no prosperity, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
17 And thou, Son of man Set thy face against the daughters of thy people, Those who are prophesying out of their own heart, And prophesy thou against them;
18 and say, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Alas! for the women Who sew oracle, cases on all elbows And prepare wraps upon the head of every stature to hunt souls, the souls ye hunt, are those of my people, Whereas your own souls:, ye keep alive.
19 Thus have ye profaned me unto my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, Putting to death the souls that should not die, and Keeping alive the souls that should not live, By your lying to my people I who hearken to lies
20 Therefore, Thus saith my Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against your oracle-cases where. with ye are hunting the souls to make them fly, And I will tear them off your arms, And let go the souls of them whose souls ye are hunting as birds;
21 And will tear off your wraps, And deliver my people out of your hand, And they shall be no longer in your hand to be hunted;- So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.
22 Because of the paining of the heart the righteous man with falsehood, whom, I, have not pained, And strengthening the hands of the lawless man, that he should not turn from his wicked way. by letting him live
23 Thereforeof falsehood:, shall ye have no vision, And a divination:, shall ye not divine any more, So will I deliver my people out of your hand, And ye shall know that, I, am Yahweh.
