1 Homem mortal, profetiza o seguinte contra Gogue. Diz-lhe assim: Sou contra ti, Gogue, líder de Meseque e de Tubal.
2 Voltar-te-ei e conduzir-te-ei em direcção às montanhas de Israel, trazendo-te desse norte distante. Destruirei cinco sextos do teu exército lá nessas montanhas.
3 Tirar-te-ei as armas das mãos e ficarás indefeso.
4 Morrerás, tanto tu como todo o teu vasto exército, sobre aquelas montanhas. Dar-te-ei como alimento às aves de rapina e aos animais selvagens, que te devorarão.
5 Não chegarás a alcançar as cidades - cairás em campo aberto; fui eu quem disse isto; eu o Senhor Deus falei.
6 Farei com que chova fogo sobre Magogue e sobre os teus aliados, que estão a viver sossegados na costa, e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
7 É assim que tornarei conhecido o meu santo nome entre o povo de Israel; não mais permitirei que sejam desprezados. Também as outras nações se darão conta de que eu sou o Senhor, o santo de Israel. Esse dia de julgamento virá. Tudo há-de acontecer como o declarei.
9 O povo das cidades de Israel irá aos campos e levará os vossos escudos, o diverso armamento e todo o material bélico, que lhes servirá de lenha para queimar durante sete anos.
10 Sim, durante sete anos não precisarão de mais nada para fazer fogo. Não necessitarão de ir cortar árvores, de ir apanhar lenha; todo aquele material de guerra lhes servirá para isso. Utilizarão assim o despojo dos que os queriam despojar.
11 Darei ali, a Gogue e aos seus exércitos, uma sepultura, no vale dos Viajantes, a leste do Mar Morto. Os que viajarem por ali espantar-se-ão; ali serão enterrados Gogue e a multidão dos seus soldados. Mudar-se-á o nome daquele lugar para o vale do Exército de Gogue. O povo de Israel levará sete meses a enterrar todos aqueles cadáveres.
13 E toda a gente em Israel colaborará nesse trabalho, pois que se tratará duma vitória gloriosa, nesse dia, em que eu demonstrarei a minha glória, diz o Senhor. Ao fim de sete meses, ainda hão-de indigitar homens para procurar cuidadosamente em toda a terra algum cadáver esquecido, para o enterrar, a fim de que a terra fique limpa.
15 E então, sempre que alguém encontre algum osso humano, porá uma marca ao lado para que os indivíduos encarregados de enterrar os cadáveres o encontrem e o levem com os outros para o vale do Exército de Gogue. (E haverá ali uma cidade chamada Multidão.) Dessa forma a terra ficará definitivamente limpa.
17 E agora, homem mortal, chama todas as aves e animais, e diz- lhes: Juntem-se todos e venham tomar parte num grandioso sacrifício. Venham de longe e de perto até às montanhas de Israel. Venham comer carne e beber sangue! A carne a comer é a de homens poderosos; o sangue é o de príncipes - eles substituem os carneiros, as ovelhas, os bodes e os bezerros de Basã na minha festa sacrificial! Encham-se de carne até se fartarem, bebam do sangue até se embriagarem; é este o grande sacrifício que vos preparei. Fartem-se pois à minha mesa; banqueteiem-se com cavalos, com carros de combate e com os seus condutores, com valentes soldados, diz o Senhor Deus. Darei assim uma prova de força da minha glória às nações: todas verão o castigo que sofreu Gogue e saberão que fui eu quem fiz isto.
22 Daí em diante, o povo de Israel ficará bem certo de que eu sou o Senhor seu Deus. Os povos ficarão também a saber por que razão Israel foi mandado para o exílio - foi como castigo dos seus pecados, pois foram rebeldes para com o seu Deus. Por isso lhes voltei a cara e permiti que os seus inimigos os destruíssem. Desviei-me deles e castiguei-os na proporção directa da baixeza dos seus pecados.
25 Mas agora, diz o Senhor Deus, porei fim ao cativeiro do meu povo, terei misericórdia deles e restabelecerei a sua prosperidade; porque tenho em atenção a minha reputação! Portanto, esse tempo de rebeldia e de vergonha ficará a pertencer ao passado. O povo regressará à sua terra natal em paz e em segurança, sem que mais ninguém os incomode ou os aterrorize. Hão-de regressar vindos das terras dos seus adversários, e a minha glória se tornará evidente para todas as nações quando eu fizer que isso aconteça. Através deles restabelecerei a grande fama da minha santidade aos olhos das nações do mundo. O meu povo, nessa altura, certificar-se-á de que eu sou o Senhor seu Deus, e de que sou eu o responsável por os ter enviado para o exílio e por os ter trazido para casa. Não deixarei que fique nenhum entre as nações. Nunca mais esconderei deles o meu rosto; antes derramarei sobre eles o meu Espírito, diz o Senhor Deus.
1 Thou therefore son of man. Prophesy against Gog, and thou shalt say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh: Behold me! against thee O Gog Prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.
2 Therefore will I turn thee about and lead thee on, and cause thee to come up out of the remote parts of the North,- And will bring thee in upon the mountains of Israel;
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand,- And thine arrowsout of thy right hand, win I cause to fall.
4 Upon the mountains of Israel, shalt thou fall, Thou and all thy hordes, and the peoples who are with thee, To birds of prey of every wing. and the wild beast of the field, will I give thee for food:
5 Upon the, face of the field, shalt thou fall,- For I, have spoken, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
6 And I will send a fire into Magog, And among them who are dwelling in the Coastlands securely, So shalt thou know that I am Yahweh.
7 And my holy Name, will I make known in the midst of my people Israel, And will not suffer my holy Name to be profaned any more, So shall the nations know that, I am Yahweh, Holy in Israel.
8 Lo! it is coming, and shall be brought to pass, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh,-the same, is the day whereof I had spoken.
9 Then shall go forth the dwellers of the cities of Israel and shall make fires of the weapons and burn them, Both buckler and shield, bow and arrows, and handstaff and spear,- And shall make fires of them. seven years;
10 And they shall not take wood out of the field Neither shall they cut down out of the forests,- For of the armour, shall they make fires,- So shall they spoil those who spoiled them And prey on those who preyed on hem, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day. that I will give to Gog a place of memorial for burial in Israel even the valley of them that pass through east of the sea, And it shall be enough to keep back them who would pass through,- and they shall bury there. Gog and all his multitude, and shall call it. Ge-hamon-gog. That is "The valley of the multitude of Gog."
12 So shall the house of Israel bury them hat they may cleanse the land, seven months;
13 Yea all the people of the land I shall bury I, and it shall become to them a memorial,the day that E get myself glory, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.
14 And men to keep at it constantly, shall they tell of Men to pass throughout the land, who with the passer-by, shall continue burying, them who have been left on the face of the land to cleanse it, At the end of seven months, shall they make search.
15 And when any of the passers-by, in going through the land, shall see a human bone, then shall he set up near it a sign,until the buriers have buried it, in Ge-hamon-Gog.
16 Moreover the name of a city shall be Hamonah To the multitude, so shall they cleanse the land.
17 Thou, therefore, son of man, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Say to the bird of every wing. And to every wild beast of the field. Assemble yourselves and come Gather yourselves from every side, unto my sacrifice which I am sacrificing for yon A great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel,- And ye shall eat flesh and drink blood:
18 The flesh of mighty men, shall ye eat, And the blood of the princes of the earth, shall ye drink. Rams well-fed lambs and be-goats bullocks, Fatlings of Bashan all of them;
19 And ye shall eat fat till ye are sated, And drink blood till ye are drunken, Of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you;
20 So shall ye be sated at my table with horse and chariot team, mighty man and every man of war, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
21 Thus will I set my glory among the nations, And all the nations I shall see My judgment which I have executed,and My hand which I have laid upon them.
22 So shall the house of Israel know that I, Yah, am their God,from that day and forward;
23 And the nations shall know That in their iniquity, were the house of Israel exiled because they had committed treachery against me, And so I hid my face from them, And gave them into the hand of their adversaries, And they fell by the sword all of them.
24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions, dealt I with them, And so I hid my face from them.
25 Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Now, will I bring back them of the captivity of Jacob, And have compassion upon all the house of Israel,- And will be jealous for my holy Name;
26 And they shall bear their confusion, and the punishment of all their treachery wherewith they have committed treachery against me,- When they dwell upon their own so securely, with none to make them afraid;
27 When I have brought them back from among the peoples, And gathered them out of the lands of their enemies,- So will I hallow myself in them, before the eyes of the many nations;
28 And they shall know that I, Yahweh, ara their God, When I have carried them into exe among the nations, And shall then gather them upon their own soil,- And shall no more leave any of them there.
29 Neither will I any more hide my face from them, In that I have poured out my spirit, upon the house of Israel, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
