1 Then there come to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 And he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God said, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is given to God; 6 he shall not honor his father. And ye have made void the word of God because of your tradition. 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,

8 This people honoreth me with their lips;

But their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain do they worship me,

Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.

10 And he called to him the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which entereth into the mouth defileth the man; but that which proceedeth out of the mouth, this defileth the man. 12 Then came the disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up. 14 Let them alone: they are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both shall fall into a pit. 15 And Peter answered and said unto him, Declare unto us the parable. 16 And he said, Are ye also even yet without understanding? 17 Perceive ye not, that whatsoever goeth into the mouth passeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings: 20 these are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not the man.

21 And Jesus went out thence, and withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs. 27 But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

29 And Jesus departed thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there. 30 And there came unto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and they cast them down at his feet; and he healed them: 31 insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.

32 And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat: and I would not send them away fasting, lest haply they faint on the way. 33 And the disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so many loaves in a desert place as to fill so great a multitude? 34 And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few small fishes. 35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; 36 and he took the seven loaves and the fishes; and he gave thanks and brake, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. 37 And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full. 38 And they that did eat were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And he sent away the multitudes, and entered into the boat, and came into the borders of Magadan.

Căci nu-și spală mâinile când mănâncă." 3 Drept răspuns, El le-a zis: „Dar voi de ce călcați porunca lui Dumnezeu în folosul datinei voastre?4 Căci Dumnezeu a zis: ‘Cinstește*Exod 20:12.Lev. 19:3.Deut. 5:16.Prov. 23:22.Efes. 6:2.pe tatăl tău și pe mama ta’ și: ‘Cine*Exod 21:17.Lev. 20:9.Deut. 27:16.Prov. 20:20;30:17.va grăi de rău pe tatăl său sau pe mama sa să fie pedepsit negreșit cu moartea.’5 Dar*Marcu 7:11,12.voi ziceți: ‘Cine va zice tatălui său sau mamei sale: «Ori cu ce te-aș putea ajuta, l-am închinat lui Dumnezeu»6 nu mai este ținut să cinstească pe tatăl său sau pe mama sa.’ Și ați desființat astfel cuvântul lui Dumnezeu în folosul datinei voastre.7 Fățarnicilor*Marcu 7:6., bine a prorocit Isaia despre voi, când a zis:8 ‘Norodul acesta*Is. 29:13.Ezec. 33:31.se apropie de Mine cu gura și Mă cinstește cu buzele, dar inima lui este departe de Mine.9 Degeaba Mă cinstesc ei învățând*Is. 29:13.Col. 2:18,22.Tit 1:14.ca învățături niște porunci omenești.’"

10 Isus a chemat*Marcu 7:14. mulțimea la Sine și a zis: „Ascultați și înțelegeți:11 Nu*Fapte 10:15.Rom. 14:14,17,20.1 Tim. 4:4.Tit 1:15.ce intră în gură spurcă pe om, ci ce iese din gură, aceea spurcă pe om."12 Atunci, ucenicii Lui s-au apropiat și I-au zis: „Știi că fariseii au găsit pricină de poticnire în cuvintele pe care le-au auzit?" 13 Drept răspuns, El le-a zis: „Orice*Ioan 15:2.1 Cor. 3:12.răsad pe care nu l-a sădit Tatăl Meu cel ceresc va fi smuls din rădăcină.14 Lăsați-i: sunt*Is. 9:16.Mal. 2:8. Cap. 23:16.Luca 6:39.niște călăuze oarbe; și când un orb călăuzește pe un alt orb, vor cădea amândoi în groapă."15 Petru*Marcu 7:17. a luat cuvântul și I-a zis: „Deslușește-ne pilda aceasta." 16 Isus a zis: „Și*Cap. 16:9.Marcu 7:18.voi tot fără pricepere sunteți?17 Nu înțelegeți că orice*1 Cor. 6:13.intră în gură merge în pântece și apoi este aruncat afară, în hazna?18 Dar ce*Iac. 3:6.iese din gură vine din inimă, și aceea spurcă pe om.19 Căci*Gen. 6:5;8:21.Prov. 6:14.Ier. 17:9.Marcu 7:21.din inimă ies gândurile rele, uciderile, preacurviile, curviile, furtișagurile, mărturiile mincinoase, hulele.20 Iată lucrurile care spurcă pe om, dar a mânca cu mâinile nespălate nu spurcă pe om."

21 Isus*Marcu 7:24., după ce a plecat de acolo, S-a dus în părțile Tirului și ale Sidonului. 22 Și iată că o femeie cananeancă a venit din ținuturile acelea și a început să strige către El: „Ai milă de mine, Doamne, Fiul lui David! Fiică-mea este muncită rău de un drac." 23 El nu i-a răspuns niciun cuvânt. Și ucenicii Lui s-au apropiat și L-au rugat stăruitor: „Dă-i drumul, căci strigă după noi." 24 Drept răspuns, El a zis: „Eu*Cap. 10:5,6.Fapte 3:25,26;13:46.Rom. 15:8.nu sunt trimis decât la oile pierdute ale casei lui Israel."25 Dar ea a venit și I s-a închinat, zicând: „Doamne, ajută-mi!" 26 Drept răspuns, El i-a zis: „Nu este bine să iei pâinea copiilor și s-o arunci la căței*Cap. 7:6.Filip. 3:2.!"27 „Da, Doamne", a zis ea, „dar și cățeii mănâncă firimiturile care cad de la masa stăpânilor lor." 28 Atunci, Isus i-a zis: „O, femeie, mare este credința ta! Facă-ți-se cum voiești." Și fiica ei s-a tămăduit chiar în ceasul acela.

29 Isus*Marcu 7:31. a plecat din locurile acelea și a venit lângă*Cap. 4:18. Marea Galileii. S-a suit pe munte și a șezut jos acolo. 30 Atunci*Is. 35:5,6. Cap. 11:5.Luca 7:22. au venit la El multe noroade, având cu ele șchiopi, orbi, muți, ciungi și mulți alți bolnavi. I-au pus la picioarele Lui și El i-a tămăduit; 31 așa că noroadele se mirau când au văzut că muții vorbesc, ciungii se însănătoșesc, șchiopii umblă și orbii văd; și slăveau pe Dumnezeul lui Israel. 32 Isus*Marcu 8:1. a chemat pe ucenicii Săi și le-a zis: „Mi-este milă de gloata aceasta, căci iată că de trei zile așteaptă lângă Mine și n-au ce mânca. Nu vreau să le dau drumul flămânzi, ca nu cumva să leșine de foame pe drum."33 Ucenicii*2 Împ. 4:43. I-au zis: „De unde să luăm în pustia aceasta atâtea pâini ca să săturăm atâta gloată?" 34 „Câte pâini aveți?", i-a întrebat Isus. „Șapte", I-au răspuns ei, „și puțini peștișori." 35 Atunci, Isus a poruncit norodului să șadă pe pământ. 36 A luat*Cap. 14:19. cele șapte pâini și peștișorii și, după ce a mulțumit*1 Sam. 9:13.Luca 22:19. lui Dumnezeu, a frânt și a dat ucenicilor, iar ucenicii au împărțit norodului. 37 Au mâncat toți și s-au săturat; și s-au ridicat șapte coșnițe pline cu rămășițele de firimituri. 38 Cei ce mâncaseră erau patru mii de bărbați, afară de femei și de copii. 39 În urmă*Marcu 8:10., Isus a dat drumul noroadelor, S-a suit în corabie și a trecut în ținutul Magdalei.
