Psalms 110

Of David. A psalm.

1 The Lord says to my lord:*110:1 Or Lord

"Sit at my right hand

until I make your enemies

a footstool for your feet."

2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,

"Rule in the midst of your enemies!"

3 Your troops will be willing

on your day of battle.

Arrayed in holy splendor,

your young men will come to you

like dew from the morning’s womb.*110:3 The meaning of the Hebrew for this sentence is uncertain.

4 The Lord has sworn

and will not change his mind:

"You are a priest forever,

in the order of Melchizedek."

5 The Lord is at your right hand*110:5 Or My lord is at your right hand, Lord;

he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead

and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.

7 He will drink from a brook along the way,*110:7 The meaning of the Hebrew for this clause is uncertain.

and so he will lift his head high.

Salmo de Davi.

1 O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor:

"Assente-se à minha direita

até que eu faça dos seus inimigos

um estrado para os seus pés".

2 O Senhor estenderá o cetro do seu poder desde Sião.

Domine no meio dos seus inimigos!

3 No dia da sua batalha,

o seu povo virá voluntariamente.

Com santo esplendor,

desde o romper da alvorada,

os seus jovens virão como o orvalho.*110.3 O significado dessa frase em hebraico é incerto.

4 O Senhor jurou e não se arrependerá:

"Você é sacerdote para sempre,

segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque".

5 O Senhor está à sua direita;

ele esmagará reis no dia da sua ira.

6 Julgará as nações, amontoando os mortos;

esmagará governantes por toda a terra.

7 No caminho beberá de um ribeiro

e, assim, erguerá a cabeça.
