Psalms 62

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;

my salvation comes from him.

2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;

he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

3 How long will you assault me?

Would all of you throw me down—

this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

4 Surely they intend to topple me

from my lofty place;

they take delight in lies.

With their mouths they bless,

but in their hearts they curse.*62:4 The Hebrew has Selah (a word of uncertain meaning) here and at the end of verse 8.

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;

my hope comes from him.

6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;

he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

7 My salvation and my honor depend on God*62:7 Or / God Most High is my salvation and my honor;

he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

8 Trust in him at all times, you people;

pour out your hearts to him,

for God is our refuge.

9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath,

the highborn are but a lie.

If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;

together they are only a breath.

10 Do not trust in extortion

or put vain hope in stolen goods;

though your riches increase,

do not set your heart on them.

11 One thing God has spoken,

two things I have heard:

"Power belongs to you, God,

12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love";

and, "You reward everyone

according to what they have done."

1 A minha alma descansa somente em Deus;*62.1 Ou Em silêncio, a minha alma aguarda somente por Deus.

dele vem a minha salvação.

2 Somente ele é a minha rocha e a minha salvação;

ele é a minha torre segura! Jamais serei abalado!

3 Até quando todos vocês atacarão um homem

que está como um muro inclinado

ou uma cerca prestes a cair?

4 Todo o propósito deles é derrubá-lo

da sua posição elevada;

eles se deliciam com mentiras.

Com a boca abençoam,

mas no íntimo amaldiçoam. Pausa

5 Descanse somente em Deus, ó minha alma;

dele vem a minha esperança.

6 Somente ele é a minha rocha e a minha salvação;

ele é a minha torre segura! Não serei abalado!

7 A minha salvação e a minha honra dependem de Deus;

ele é a minha rocha firme, o meu refúgio.

8 Confie nele em todos os momentos, ó povo;

derrame diante dele o coração,

pois Deus é o nosso refúgio. Pausa

9 As pessoas de origem humilde não passam de um sopro,

e as de origem importante

não passam de mentira;

colocadas juntas na balança,

pesam menos que um sopro.

10 Não confiem na extorsão

nem se iludam com bens roubados;

se as suas riquezas aumentam,

não ponham nelas o coração.

11 Uma vez Deus falou,

e duas vezes eu ouvi:

que o poder pertence a Deus

12 e que contigo, Senhor, está o amor leal.

É certo que retribuirás a cada um

conforme o seu procedimento.
