1 No oitavo dia Moisés chamou Arão, os seus filhos, mais os anciãos de Israel, e disse a Arão que trouxesse um bezerro para a oferta de expiação do pecado e um carneiro sem defeito físico como oferta de holocausto, e que os oferecesse perante o Senhor.
3 E diz ao povo de Israel, mandou-lhe Moisés, que tragam um bode para expiação do pecado; além deste, um bezerro e um cordeiro, ambos de um ano, sem defeito, para a sua oferta queimada. Devem ainda trazer ao Senhor uma oferta de sacrifício de paz: um boi e um carneiro, e mais uma oferta de cereais: farinha amassada com azeite. Porque hoje, disse-lhe Moisés, Jeová vos aparecerá.
5 Assim trouxeram tudo isso até à entrada do tabernáculo, conforme Moisés mandara, e o povo veio e ficou de pé na presença do Senhor. Moisés disse-lhes: Quando tiverem cumprido com as instruções do Senhor, a sua glória vos aparecerá.
7 Moisés mandou Arão chegar-se ao altar e oferecer a oferta de expiação do pecado e o holocausto (ou oferta queimada), fazendo assim expiação por si mesmo primeiramente, e depois pelo povo, tal como o Senhor ordenara. Assim Arão foi até ao altar e matou o bezerro como sacrifício pelo próprio pecado; os seus filhos trouxeram-lhe o sangue e, molhando o dedo nele, salpicou sobre os chifres do altar e o resto derramou na base do altar. Em seguida queimou sobre o altar a gordura, os rins, e a vesícula desse sacrifício de pecado, tal como o Senhor indicara a Moisés, porém a carne e a pele queimou num sítio fora do acampamento.
12 Seguidamente matou o animal de oferta de holocausto, os filhos trouxeram-lhe o sangue e ele espargiu-o sobre todo o altar; trouxeram-lhe igualmente as partes em que o animal foi partido, incluindo a cabeça, e queimou tudo sobre o altar. Lavou as partes intestinais e as patas, oferecendo isto também sobre o altar como oferta queimada.
15 Após isso sacrificou a oferta do povo. Degolou o bode e ofereceu-o da mesma maneira que tinha feito para a oferta por si próprio. Assim sacrificou as suas ofertas queimadas ao Senhor, de acordo com as instruções dadas por Deus.
17 Depois apresentou a oferta de cereais, tomando dela uma mão-cheia e queimando-a sobre o altar, além da oferta regular da manhã.
18 Então degolou o boi e o carneiro - o sacrifício de paz da parte do povo; os filhos de Arão trouxeram-lhe o sangue e ele espargiu-o sobre todo o altar. Entregaram-lhe também a gordura dos dois animais, assim como a cauda e a gordura que cobre as entranhas, mais os rins e a vesícula. A gordura foi colocada sobre o peito dos animais, e Arão queimou-a sobre o altar; mas o peito e a espádua direita ofereceu-os com um lento movimento baloiçante perante o Senhor, tal como Moisés instruira.
22 Por fim, com as mãos levantadas na direcção do povo, Arão abençoou-o e desceu do altar. Moisés e Arão entraram no tabernáculo; quando tornaram a sair abençoaram de novo o povo. E a glória do Senhor apareceu a toda a assembleia, tendo vindo fogo do céu que consumiu o holocausto e a gordura sobre o altar. Quando o povo viu isto todos clamaram de alegria e se inclinaram até à terra perante o Senhor.
1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called for Aaron, and for his sons,and for the elders of Israel;
2 and said unto AaronTake for thyself a choice calf, as a sin-bearer, and a ram for an ascending-sacrifice, each without defect,and bring them near before Yahweh;
3 and unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak, saying,Take ye a he-goat, as a sin-bearer, and a calf and a young sheep, each a year old, without defect for an ascending-sacrifice;
4 and an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh, and a meal-offering overflowed with oil,for, to-day, doth, Yahweh, appear unto you.
5 So they brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting,and all the assembly drew near, and stood before Yahweh.
6 And Moses saidThis, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded that ye shall do,that the glory of Yahweh may appear unto you.
7 and Moses said unto AaronDraw near unto the altar, and offer thy sin-bearer and thine ascending-sacrifice, and put a propitiatory-covering about thyself and about the people,and offer the oblation of the people and put a propitiatory-covering about them, As Yahweh hath commanded.
8 So Aaron drew near unto the altar,and slew the sin-bearing calf which was for himself;
9 and the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put blood, poured he out at the base of the altar;
10 and with the fat and the kidneys and the caul a from the liver, of the sin-bearer, made he a perfume at the altar,As Yahweh commanded Moses.
11 But, the flesh and the skin, consumed he with fire, outside the camp.
12 Then slew he the ascending-sacrifice,and the sons of Aaron presented unto him the blood, and he dashed it against the altar round about.
13 And the ascending-sacrifice, presented they unto him piece by piece thereof also the head,and he made a perfume upon the altar:
14 and he bathed the inwards and the legs,and made a perfume upon the ascending-sacrifice at the altar.
15 Then brought he near the oblation of the people,and took the sin-bearing goat which pertained to the people, and slew it and made therewith a sin-bearer, like the first.
16 Then brought he near the ascending-sacrifice,and offered it, according to the regulation,
17 Then brought he near the meal-offering, and filled his hand therefrom, and made a perfume upon the altar,in addition to the ascending-sacrifice of the morning.
18 Then slew he the ox, and the ram, as a peace-offering, which pertained unto the people,and the sons of Aaron presented the blood unto him, and he dashed it against the altar, round about;
19 and the portions of fat from the ox,and from the ram, the fat-tail, and the covering, and the kidneys, and the caul of the liver;
20 and they put the portions of fat upon the breasts,and he made a perfume with the fat at the altar;
21 but the breasts and the right shoulder, did Aaron wave as a wave-offering, before Yahweh,as Moses commanded,
22 Then Aaron lifted up his hands towards the people, and blessed them,and he came down from offering the sin-bearer, and the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offering.
23 And when Moses and Aaron had entered into the tent of meeting,and had come forth, and blessed the people, then appeared the glory of Yahweh, unto all the people;
24 yea, there came forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed upon the altar, the ascending-sacrifice and the portions of fat,and all the people beheld and shouted, and fell down upon their faces.
