Jó 26

 
1 ¶ Jó, porém, respondeu, dizendo: Then Job answered and said,
2 Como ajudaste aquele que não tinha força, e sustentaste o braço que não tinha vigor? How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!
3 Como aconselhaste aquele que não tinha sabedoria, e plenamente fizeste saber a causa, assim como era? How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!
4 A quem proferiste palavras, e de quem é o espírito que saiu de ti? To whom hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?
5 ¶ Os mortos tremem debaixo das águas, com os seus moradores. They that are deceased tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.
6 O inferno está nu perante ele, e não há coberta para a perdição. Sheol is naked before [God], And Abaddon hath no covering.
7 O norte estende sobre o vazio; e suspende a terra sobre o nada. He stretcheth out the north over empty space, And hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8 Prende as águas nas suas nuvens, todavia a nuvem não se rasga debaixo delas. He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; And the cloud is not rent under them.
9 Encobre a face do seu trono, e sobre ele estende a sua nuvem. He incloseth the face of his throne, And spreadeth his cloud upon it.
10 Marcou um limite sobre a superfície das águas em redor, até aos confins da luz e das trevas. He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, Unto the confines of light and darkness.
11 As colunas do céu tremem, e se espantam da sua ameaça. The pillars of heaven tremble And are astonished at his rebuke.
12 ver mapa Com a sua força fende o mar, e com o seu entendimento abate a soberba. He stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.
13 Pelo seu Espírito ornou os céus; a sua mão formou a serpente enroscadiça. By his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.
14 Eis que isto são apenas as orlas dos seus caminhos; e quão pouco é o que temos ouvido dele! Quem, pois, entenderia o trovão do seu poder? Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?
